    Huge thank you to Will and Omar for being part this interview. Also I would like to thank my buddy Jorelle the videographer for dealing with our antics for 4 hours. This video was a tremendous undertaking in the editing department, something I won't look forward to doing again anytime soon. Mistakes were made, but I am proud to represent this warm and inviting community of Chicago Cycling.

    Thanks for the 606 shoutout, Willy! We’re raising the bar for women so that they feel comfortable going to male-dominated group rides like WNR. Support from the community means a lot.

    I moved to Chicago (Wicker Park) from the suburbs in 2004. The best way to get around was by bike. I had my brother’s old Trek mountain bike and it was fun zipping around! Around 2012 I was able to buy a 2010 Specialized Allez 105 from Craigslist! This changed the way I biked! I started road riding for exercise and loved it ever since! Greta podcast/episode!

    Hey Patrick, congratulations on a great episode. This was a solid intro into the Chicago Cycling scene. I believe you’ll have so much more to share.
    I can attest to the sentiments shared by Omar and Will. When I first moved to Chicago in 2016, I lived in Evanston off Church Rd. I used to own the KOM but then got crushed. Upon moving to the area I knew no one. I stopped by a LOB in Wilmette, Higher Gear which no longer exists and was kindly greeted by the staff and other cyclists that were stopping in.
    Before long I started riding up and down Sheridan and ran into so many great cyclists who invited me to group rides. The first ride I was invited to was the Judson ride and I got dropped!! I later met others from Union, BZ Boy (D-Wade), etc. I never realized how vast the cycling community is in Chicago and the Northshore.
    Later, we settled in Naperville, and I was concerned about leaving such a vibrant Chicago City scene only to be amazed by the Cycling Culture and Community in the Western Chicago suburbs!! And the roads were much better and less traffic! I was greeted by awesome dudes from Naperville, Wheaton, Aurora, and Glen Ellen. EMC2 and B4DAWN. And those dudes were just as strong and committed to cycling. I moved from the area to NC/SC a year ago.
    I’m sharing all of this to say, the story that you’ve started can be told about the expansive Chicagoland! Good luck! Brimstone.

    • @PatrickLino
      @PatrickLino  6 місяців тому +2

    First off… Love the format! As a Videographer and content creator I personally enjoy and have a genuine interest in the man-hours, which take place in order to execute a project like this. If I were in the Chi-area I’d definitely be on board with collaborating!
    For a *first podcast I think it was excellent! Plenty of camera angles and IMO you had the *right people in the room. My only critique is audio. Making the audio more balanced across the three(3) speakers. Other than that, I enjoyed it! Great work Patty! 🎥

    Whose Standert is that? If it's your size, can you ride it and compare to other framesets? I'm interested in their frames .. but.. feedback online is often that they are - I guess overall it seems: uninspiring to ride. Not lively.
