I did not wanna just post the typical (and stale) race breakdown style content. If you made through the entire video I super appreciate your patience and support! Thank you!
I live in Chicago too. What would be some bikes you would recommend? I have a sl6 currently. Should I get an aero bike? Also, what depth wheels would u recommend for our city? Thank you.
@@brandonleggins1237 Winspace Hypers are fantastic wheels. So are Elite Drive wheels. I have discount codes for both. Should not need a new frame if you have an SL6. At least 50mm depth.
Thank you Patrick, you are the best!!! 🙌🏼 😍...and, wow what a great. video, you could sub-title it "how to roll the no-drop rides in Chicago" - nicely done!
Nice speed! As a Canadian, I appreciate the conversion to KM. That is a fast paced ride! I'm hoping to find some good group in 2022! Great job! I enjoy the channel.
Thank you for this. As a newish rider who doesn't race and is hesitant to join group rides, this is incredibly helpful and makes me want to reach out to some local clubs. Definitely not keeping a 30 mph pace though... you're rocking it out there!
It was a wild ride. I will say once you are rolling mid-pack in a group this size, the drafting is incredible strong especially at 30mph. Thanks for watching!
Awesome man glad you got a chance to film a group ride! I remember you talking about group rides earlier in the season on a vlog, but it's awesome to see some in-the-pack action. That end was super sketchy though glad you're staying safe, but at those speeds if someone gets taken out in front of you it'll be a bad day for the pack. Keep it up though!
love your videos bro! do you have a video on riding Chicago metro in general? would love to see something where you show a map or something of okay places to ride in the greater area.
Reminds me of a Saturday Morning ride, out of Palatine, IL, that I did in the mid 80's and 90's. 36 miles, and few rules. The entire group (50+) was pulled over by the Cops, a few times. There were some hills in the Barrington Hills area.
@@1timdog1066 hahaha fair point! I can’t imagine any actual pizza spot being able to accommodate 60-70 riders all at once, bikes included. The 7/11 pizza actually pretty good for what it is, and management allow us to have beer in the parking lot. We bring in a lot of money each week 🤣
@@PatrickLino ……..Lou is my favorite. You can’t go wrong with any three. I’ve eaten at all on Friday-Sunday. 😂🤣 I guess you can say, pizza is my favorite food. 😋
The schedule and route we ride were specifically chosen around times of minimal vehicle and pedestrian traffic. It's pretty much a ghost town north of the city during dinner time. Having a group ride of 70+ people is EXTREMELY rare (Maybe once a year), which is why I particularly chose to highlight this week's ride. You can see in the video there were probably no more than 3 or 4 cars total, and we only had to overtake a solo cyclist once.
Hello patrick, nice video! But you need to work on your group ride. Are you still a little bit afraid to ride close in corners and on high speed in the wheel? In Belgium your legs wil explode afther 5 corners if you led a gap in a corner. But overal very nice ride!!!
Good video, but this group looks sketchy. There are some strong riders but people aren't holding the wheel, people are not holding their line, people aren't pulling through, people are falling back way too quickly, lots of bunching, too much freewheeling... just generally chaotic. The chaos is what's causing the accordioning. You can tell this group has a wide variety of fitness and experience levels, the janky pedaling style of many of the newer riders is a dead give away.

Hey. Looking to get a new bike. What are the most common bikes in the groups rides that you see? Just looking for ideas.
@@brandonleggins1237 All aero bikes: Specialized/S-Works SL7, Canyon Aeroad, Pinarello Dogma 👍🏾

Pro commentary and production value! So well done. It brings the ride to life and helps others understand the excitement and action of it all. 👍👍
Thank you Sig! That was really my goal, so I hope others understand that as well.
Great Video, Patrick! It’s super impressive how much you’ve learned this year - the student shall soon become the teacher…

Excellent Patrick 👍. Chapeau to you for your gains this season and agree you can’t beat the buzz of rides like this. 💪
Thanks for watching Iain!
Thank you for this video Patrick. I’m planning to move to Chicago and so excited to hear it has group ride like this.

Great video commentary. Supertuck on a flat ride, that is very funny
I get he was not technically supertucking, it’s still hilarious what he’s doing on a flat road in a group ride.
Came across your channel from the winspace wheel review. Love the content so far 👍🏿

very well done, a great watch

Come out tomorrow!
