The active release tip worked wonders for me just with my own finger pressure. Thank you!
Side note, it's become apparent to me over the course of my fitness journey that knowing basic muscular anatomy works wonders for being able to pinpoint aches, strains, etc. before they develop into more serious conditions.
Man, I've struggled to find self release techniques for the Supraspinatus online. Your video not only explains where it is, but you go in detail with the technique to massage it. Great job!
hey you listen up u have just solve a problem that i have been suffering form more than 3 years . God bless you .
I have superspinatus inflamation. What have you done to fix your shoulder?
I don't just feel discomfort, I feel excruciating pain !
I've been trying to massage this muscle for like 3 days now with the lacrosse ball and never got it to release, I only ended up with bruises and more surface level pain. Moving my arm while using a theracane worked like a god damn charm, and will be my go-to method for this muscle from now on. I can actually feel it loosening up!!! Thankyou!!
Works: This really worked. The knots started to release. Thank you.
omg my neck has been in so much pain turning it left and in doing this just now took the pain away, thank you so much
Wow. I was convinced that I had shoulder damage. Granted, maybe there is some damage, and it is far from perfect, but this helped an amazing amount. Thank you!
Omg I'm so glad I found your channel! All your videos are helping me so much. This spot always annoys me. Foam rolling the lower back video is awesome and how to sleep properly aswell. All your videos are helping me live much more comfortably. Thank you
+Jacqui-lee Poutapu Glad to hear that :D
Thanks for this! I had rotator cuff surgery in Aug 2015 and I'm sore off and on all the time. I will try using the ball.
Wow! Great tips. I happen to have a Theracane, and your tip helped where to apply pressure.
Thanks!
Man I love your stuff. Quick simple results that work. I've been having rotator cuff pain from belaying and couldn't figure it out because I knew it wasn't torn and felt it was like a referred pain issue. Turns out it is, tight chest, and tight supraspinatus. Thanks!🙏
instant release. That ball exercise is fire !! thanks bro
Finally, some relief! Thank you.
Very good stuff. I've been actually using a golf ball. Helps me dig in even deeper.
awesome supraspinatus release technique mate!
Pain has really come.down it really works thank you
hey man I'm trying to binge watch your videos just discovered your channel and I've got a lot to learn from you as I have constant shoulder problems and glute problems.
+Matty Hughes Lol, well welcome matty! Good luck to you!
Awesome :)! More anatomy pictures!!
+Dylan Mills Gotchya :D
This is awesome! I was able to release the muscle and felt such relief! Thanks!
+Aurora Riera Glad to hear it!
I have chronic supraspinatus tendonitis and nothing seems to have helped iv done the anti inflammatorys, 2 cortisone injections, physiotherapy, chiropractor, deep tissue massages iv had it nearly 5 years now just wish it would go away. If your young and just starting in the gym dont be an ego lifter be smart
What is not being understood here, is that the reason he is talking about the suprispinatus, could be that he himself has a sore suprispinatus. And that would not be surprising, because the way he is holding his arms out to the side require his suprispinatus muscles to be constantly activated. He probably stands like this every waking minute. Meanwhile he's talking about which 'purely physical approach' that 'you' should use to get rid of 'your problem'. And he doesn't realise that the reason his arms are held out like that are because of some inner conflict about looking 'bigger' or 'higher status'. And that's not an insult, because it's very common, can relate, and you look at anyone's arms, they're a little more out to the side than necessary. So anyway, if he'd just take a moment to let his arms experience the inner position, with arms closer to the side, and suprispinatus almost off, only really stabilizing, then he would relax that area, and simultaneously relax the mind conflict causing him to do in the first place.
This was really helpful and the pain relief is as good as a myofascial release. Thank you so much man. Im still experiencing tightness on my lower and upper muscles, do you have any releases or exercises to help with this?
Great vid, will try this soon enough. I have a small tear in the infraspinatus and also supraspinatus. The referral pain down the arm can be crazy. How would you recommend healing this holistically without surgery? Thanks for the videos, they are helpful regardless.
+mugentuner Depends man. Find a good doctor and PT to work with!
A hooked walking stick from a charity shop works just as well as a Theracane but costs next to nothing. You're welcome.
what are some of the habits/poor posturing that cause compensation resulting in tight supraspinatus muscles?
Thanks for your info 🤗
Wow! Thank you!
thx a lot. It really works for me.
Hello, thanks a lot for your amazing videos. I have been diagnosed with supraspinatus tendinitis and inflammation. what kind of stretches pain-free would you recommend me to do after my acute phase. and when should I know that I am ready to start lifting weight again?
Thanks!!
Thankyou, helped a lot
+tony gibson Glad to hear it brother
Great information in all your videos, your going a long way.
I have a minor rotator cuff tear due to which I cant do overhead movements. I am doing all the exercises you mentioned in your other videos to fix the rolled shoulders. Will the tear and pain go away with time once the posture comes into alignment or do I have to do the release techniques as well? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks
Perfect!
I have inflammation in my infraspinatus. Would love if you did a video on best way to remedy that
+Julian Irvin Hmm, good idea man. I think i have one on that already, but I will make one if I don't.
what if it's both upper traps and supraspinatus?
great info! have any videos on knee and elbow inflammation and pain?
+Above Repair Hey man, thanks! You know....a lot of people have been requesting elbow stuff lately. I'll make a couple videos of that in the coming weeks, but in the mean time look for tightness in the biceps and triceps!
can't wait for the videos! I'm happy youtubers like you actually listen to our input! and ok thanks!
can someone reply please i have a superspinatus tear for 2 years now and i got bunch of treatments and still got pain, been to the mri and the report says i got a slight edematose in the superspinatus joint whatever that means, and i got a subcoracoid fluid build up or something, what do you suggest i do???
Hey! My fisio thinks I might have a tear in the superspinatus. Where is your shoulder pain? My pain is located on the anterior region of the shoulder, rather than the posterior region, where most of the superspinatus is located. Is it the same with you?
Are you a physical therapist?
Brilliant
+Christine Jordan :D
Anything about AC joint therapy?
this muscle feels like a rock beneath my skin. When I raise my arm while touching it, it snaps and slips around. It's been causing excruciatingly painful headaches
Hey dude, is it common for it to also spasm? Mine twitches when I lift my arm up above my head...
Please let the next video be, lat releasing/stretch :]]]]]
+yun0lel Noted :D
dudes got a sick neck beard..lol. good content
Hey, I do a lot of strength training, and I've had the exact problem you mentioned with this muscle for a long time. I realize I have rolled shoulders, and I'm trying to fix my posture. Would this muscle be fixed with proper posture control? Or is this just a permanent injury?
Thank you!
+Parshant Bhatia Yeah, once you get into optimal alignment this muscle should calm down a bit.
Supraspinatis with tear
Hi, how to not confuse upper trap with supraspinatus ? Do you have some tips to target it surely ?
Yes he said in the beginning it is right above the shoulder blade bone
@@smilesmile7330
Above the clavicle you mean ?
Best regards
pablito1904 no the shoulder blade. But maybe get a therapist to do it for you just in case 😊
What exactly does it mean to "release" a muscle?
It means to either relieve its tightening effect, eg. overcontracted tissue thats stuck and trapped in a shortened position, or to get rid of muscle knots or adhesion like scar tissue.
is it possible that a tight supraspinatus leads to Ac Joint pain ? i often have that problem in the morning after doing Push workouts the day before..
I had that issue, one day after a normal push workout I got tendonitis and a small tear in my rotator cuff. Months later I am still recovering and have tendonitis in this tendon. Pinch your shoulders back before pushing and shoulders back always when lifting. Look into avoiding rotator cuff issues and strengthening the area. Save yourself, please
@@georgeberi1565 thx
I feel heat, when I do it
can you use a tennis ball for this
same thing pretty much but it won't make as good of contact since it's not as hard
how to release the what????? lol
+Zivaray Viz lol :D
