Excellent presentation. Great descriptions of aesthetics (I’m loving your words like spaghetti and swirl -call me a word geek I know!) and inspiring us to have the confidence to try riskier techniques. Much appreciated mentoring! We are always hungry for knowledge. There’s no substitute for hearing things “ex cathedra”! Thanks Tony
Tony, do you find this summer time the most appropriate for approach grafting with respect to your climate in the spring in the UK? Or irrespective of spring weather, generally in the warmth of summer prior to vascular growth is the most appropriate time in your experience?
Thank you Sir Tony, for giving us
another lesson in patience❤❤❤

Hi Rafael, The time to graft is when the sap is flowing, early summer is best
Hi Tony do you have an update on the grafts as I’m planning to do something similar myself?
my grafts have taken well, but no work will start until 2024
How do you know when the graft has taken?
When the graft has swollen large and the foliage is abundant
Did it take?
It sure did updates later this year
