EPIC place to shop!!!! That wooden duck head thing I have heard is a napkin holder, you lift the head put the napkins under put head back down the weight of head keeps napkins from flying away, out doors or on a picnic. Those bean bag ash trays took me right back to my amish grampas favorite ash tray...The memories, just amazing he had so many of them, wish I had some of his he had...
Yes indeed those beanbag ashtrays were very useful in the 60’s!! My Dad had several but he preferred to flick on ashes in the cuff of his work pants! LOl
As a child I only saw the bean bag ash trays on the dash of family and friend's cars! The ceramic cabbage with bunnies was in the same ceramic line as a squirrel on a huge nut that I painted in ceramic class as a child. My mom was a ceramic teacher and I helped with cleaning the greenware and sanding the bisque.
The ashtrays were really common in the 50s and 60s. Be on the lookout for travel ashtrays that women carried in their purses in case they visited non-smokers. They opened and closed tight to prevent spills.
Oh Julie I just had to pause the Video I was so excited when you first spotted the Cat Lanp and the those to Black and white tuxedo cats were absolutely stunning I want all three pieces oh it breaks my heart because shipping on those would run more than the total price of all three pieces ... Oh I love them all ..... ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
That metal ladder could go in your laundry room, to hang clothes on a hanger, and hang on the ladder rungs (one for each child) once they come out of the dryer. Or...it could just look great with towels hanging over the rings, in a bathroom.
Hi Julie, Do you ever look at the jewelry at these market's? I am a senior citizen and don't have a car. Have to take different buses to get to the thrift stores or market that sells vintage. Dont have anyone to drive me. So...don't get out to these type of stores very often. I am looking for vintage type clip-on dangling type earings but cannot afford too much as I am on a very fixed income. Don't even have a Smartphone but use an older Tablet to access internet. If you have time the next time you are out and about at these kind of flea market warehouses or thrift stores, could you please look at some of the earings? For me, must be clip-ons (not screw backs), and dangling type earings only. Thank you.
My grandfather used to have bean bag ash trays! TFS I loved the apples with the faces on them!! I also loved the hutch, cabinet!!! Take Care & God Bless
My Dad used to have an ashtray like the ones you found. He used it on the dashboard in the car. Not sure why since cars had ashtrays! Surprisingly it didn't slide around!!
OMG! I can't believe you found those little beanbag ashtrays! I remember those from way back when. My parents had 2 or 3. Makes me feel like a relic!😁 What a wonderful place to shop. You guys who live in the eastern states have much better thrifting.
Clearly, I love where you’re at I wish I was there. I believe the box with the duck head on top is a napkin holder you put your napkins in the box in the head come down and keep them from blowing away I think that’s what it is. Keep up the good work love watching all your videos. I
I keep seeing animal shaped baskets on Marketplace. I bought a small white bunny one for Easter that holds grass and eggs and I love it! I've also seen turtles, elephants, dogs, and many more and they're adorable!
This place looked amazing! I loved all your finds! I thrifted the same basket ice bucket with the wicker handle at my local goodwill bins. It has its lid with a lily for a handle but mine is all plain white with tons of crazing! It’s now one of my favorite pieces❤️
@Rome Lynne - it's a Biscuit (Cookie) Jar, not an ice bucket. I have been collecting for 55 years and my parents were Antique Dealers, so I have seen lots of these Biscuit Jars over the years. 😊*
So, I have to ask- what kind of accent do you have? I’ve never heard anyone that talks quite like you do. 😂 I currently live in NC, but I grew up in California, Idaho, then lived in 5:11 Australia and Missouri, and have been in many states across the country, such as AR, Tennessee, Florida, etc.
@@juliethrifts oh, yes! That makes sense. I have been to New Orleans, LA, but it was just the airport basically, so didn’t really hear a lot of accents. 😉 thanks!
The wooden box with the moveable duck head is a napkin holder.
Love the brass bell, the wire basket for $40 is priceless!!,

Showing my age but, I remember the bean bag ashtrays. In the later years the usual cloth was a red or green plaid. Love the copper pans/pots.
Yes indeed those beanbag ashtrays were very useful in the 60’s!! My Dad had several but he preferred to flick on ashes in the cuff of his work pants! LOl
His work pants!? 😂

I believe it's a napkin holder for outside( picnics). Could be wrong .

Wouldn't it be cute if the duck box was a nut Quacker..😅😅😅
I get so inspired with your videos Miss Julie.. ❤️❤️❤️
I remember folks using the beanbag ashtrays when I was a kid!
What a fantastic Flea Market! It's huge! I remember those bean bag ashtrays from a long time ago.
Oh Julie I just had to pause the Video I was so excited when you first spotted the Cat Lanp and the those to Black and white tuxedo cats were absolutely stunning I want all three pieces oh it breaks my heart because shipping on those would run more than the total price of all three pieces ... Shipping the cat lamp wouldn't be bad but I'm not Shipping the cast iron cat
Loved this trip, those items are memories.
What a fantastic place. Julie, the tin with the painting is tole painted and if it opens, I believe it’s a silent butler.
My Grandmother had those ash trays. When ever the whole family would get together in the summer she would set those out. Hers were a different color.
I love the big cutting board
What a fun place to wander🥰🥰🥰
Yes my parents had those ash trays when I was a kid
So jealous of the places you have available for shopping!
Had to laugh when you styled the cutting board. I do that at my local thrift store and then walk away. Can’t help myself 😎
The bean bag ashtrays, were used in your car. The idea was they wouldn't tip while you were cruisin,,, Loved the video..
I believe the duck head box is for holing napkins.
The bunnies are hiding in the grass, thanks for all the great ideas! 😊
That metal ladder could go in your laundry room, to hang clothes on a hanger, and hang on the ladder rungs (one for each child) once they come out of the dryer. Or...it could just look great with towels hanging over the rings, in a bathroom.
I'm still thinking about it! I really want it
I recognized the Bean bag ashtrays. My Papé had one of these.
Ooo, I'm dying! That purple glass bowl by the ashtrays+++ btw my family smoked a lot so I knew right away what they were.
We had bean bag cigarette trays in my home when I was a child. My Mom and Dad smoked.
The copper pan behind you looks really good!
I remember seeing beanbag ashtrays in cars. People placed them on their dashboard so they could smoke and drive back in the 60's-70's.
Wow i had no idea! Thanks Darlene 😊

I need that candle stick😊
What a great video. Didnt know thos place existed. Cant wait to go!!!
Your fireplace with all the fabulous brass and copper! Wow
Those 3 cones you found with the little knobs on top kinda look to me like Christmas trees
Yes, you could turn them over at Christmas time
Oh yey! I love what not!
That wooden duck thing seems like it may be a napkin caddy.
Loved the ashtrays. I have not seen thise since I was a kid. My dad had one.
My father had beanbag ashtrays back in the 60s

The beanbag ashtrays were always on the dash of a car. My aunt smoked and had them in her car that was 50 years ago.
Good info thanks Kellie 😊

Hours AND paychecks!!! 😂
So many great finds! It’s hard to pick a favorite. I love how have your mantel styled. The unique brass candle holder has to be my favorite.

I don’t think that tobacco dryer is 4ftx4ft? It looks more like maybe 2x2?
I just saw one of those duck things at DAV, no clue what its for.
You are such a good girl. I enjoy you so much.
Where are you from Julie
Is the duck a nutcracker?!!!
Its a napkin holder.
