Kind of amazing how much technically all the members have grown over the years vocally. Especially for this performance, Solar doesn't do that "crying" at the end of high belts, MB slaying her raps as always, Hwasa continues to build her own texture, and somehow Wheein continues to one-up herself every stage. T~T
Chris M what does it mean to cry while singing?
I think it's "crying" (trying to remember the term from one of the react episodes), but in some of their early-mid Immortal Songs performances -- ie: You are always by my side -- Solar tended to bend her pitch down at the end of her high note belts. It might've been stylistic, but it felt like it would've been a lot better to maintain that pitch throughout. Compared to their performances this year, she doesn't let her endings "drop" that often, and personally I think it sounds a lot better.
Chris M great observation! i do remember quite the times when yongsun has done that. if you watch their recent performances of mr ambiguous, you'll notice how much better solar belts out her last high note at the end. it sounds more 'whole' if i make sense lol idk if its just me

one of the think I love is that Mamamoo change and change again, you never now what will happen, their performances are unpredictable, they drag you on in their beautiful world and make you forget of everithing else...thank you for your reaction!

I am just glad they won that episode! The best girl group by far to ever grace the stage of Immortal Songs!!
That song was originally written by the guy who looks like a wizard, as a rock song. He introduced rock to Korea in the 60's and 70's. This song won the competition for Mamamoo. It's a fantastic version of Dance in the Rhythm and brought tears to my eyes. They pulled it off perfectly. I wish they would release it coz I want it in my KPop play list.

Umu, have you thought about venturing into writing/producing pop songs in your musical pursuit, seeing how you're such a huge fan of K-Pop? Maybe classical music isn't the only direction you can take your future musical career? A lot of K-Pop songs are written by western songwriters, so that market is definitely available for pursuit. I don't know how your love of K-Pop weighs against your love for classical and performance though (or how you feel about your career prospects). There are some K-Pop songwriters/producers that studied songwriting and production at Berklee, but maybe your school offers those programs too?
