3:50 Probably a misspelled word of finish because that vid is not from Finland, our milk is not in those kind of plastic containers.
Hyvä huomio

As a Finn that cheese cutting seriously made me angry :D
Mä tarvitsen oikeesti jotiin terapiaa ton jälkeen 😭😭

Hahaha 😂
I thought the same thing!! 🤣🤣
in Hungary it's like every third person.
My nephew just looooooooves punaviinimarja ever since being able to stand and pick his own. Lucky me I have plentiful crop.
That’s nice! 🥰
Mul on nälkä
the fish catching with vodka is not finnish thing , we would never pour out as much vodka as would be needed to kill a fish (or make fish even go tipsy)
Haha I didn’t think so. 😄
You can achieve the same effect (FOR REAL) by ELECTROFISHING (sending a high-voltage charge through the water that makes fish swim into a net)! No vodka required! (Except maybe to bribe the game warden with to keep him from arresting you!) :oD
en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electrofishing
Or why don't use the old ww2 type of fishing, kasapanos!
Of course, Finns don't need to waste vodka like that. Just piss in the water to make the fish drunk.
Oldest known writing in fenno-ugric what finnish is part of, is birch bark letter number 292: fi.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tuohikirje_292 written from 1240 to 1260 after christ. text:
»Jumalannuoli, kymmenen [on] nimesi
Tämä nuoli on Jumalan oma
Tuomion-Jumala johtaa.»
Translates roughtly God arrow, ten is your name
This arrow is gods own
doom god leads
This is thinked to be oath spell to strenghten oath what ever they oath abot.
There is couple rune writings in stones around finland, but them arent translated beceuse they are so ruined by time.
The kindergarten I went to as a kid had punaviinimarja bushes outside. I remember eating those berries straight off the bushes. 😂
Susanna Liesipohja
Wow!! 😄
I think like every finnish have been eating those berries as a kid during their lifes. Those berries are so good but I prefer karviasmarja = gooseberries.
@@mamatroll8898 jep!
Thanks for the fun video! I laughed out loud at that bucket attention! This is how it is here in Finland. If a free bucket is available, we will queue.
I liked that one too! I think it’s so cute how Finns cherish their buckets 🥰☺️
When my grandma died the first thing my dad did was ask for her old buckets.
The longest finnish word is: lentokonesuihkuturbiinimoottoriapumekaanikkoaliupseerioppilas :)
HEY! I was just showed this haha I'm Joshofwestern 🤣 I'm so glad you enjoyed my videos! They're so fun to make! Next time you're in Finland we need to make a TikTok 😁
HEYYY!! I love your videos! I would love to make a TikTok with you! 😃❤️😍 thanks for saying hi!
Again! Another hilarious video! Good job honey! 😘
Ice cream cone = Jäätelötötterö🍦
I think the bucket obsession is all about gathering people together and being sort of social.
That Josh is hilarious guy and he has internalized how to be a Finn :)
By the way, black sausage from Tampere is delicious with lingon berry jam.
It was so fun to watch his videos. I haven’t gotten to see how other Americans react to finnish culture. He seems to love it just as much as I do. I didn’t ever try the mustamakkara.
I hope you’re doing well! Nice to hear from you ❤️

Mustamakkara on *niin* hyvää!
I haven’t dared to try it! Lol
yay
niin on!!
Parasta!
Nokialla kouluissa oli mustaamakkaraa mut nykyään täällä Eurajoella ei ole enää :(
I enjoyed laughing at the tik tok videos in Finland, Texas ones are fun to watch also. You look beautiful Rachael, Love the top, somebody must love you
Thanks mom! Love you!
Ahah ahaha! Very funny!! Thank you for your content
Thank you for watching!
A) that serial and milk was done in US or in some country where milk is in those freaking big plastic jugs - we have max 1,75l mostly 1l cartboard cans 😅 😂
Went searching the oldest phrase in finnish. It really is a spell
Nightwish 🤘🇫🇮
(My faw Finnish ban for a while, LOL)
"Jumalannuoli, kymmenen [on] nimesi
Tämä nuoli on Jumalan oma
Tuomion-Jumala johtaa."
It blesses Gods arrow to Doom-Gods arrow - supposedly to make it's flight accurate and killing...
Cool! Thank you for sharing that! I also noticed that plastic jug and assumed they must be in US because Finland definitely doesn’t sell anything in those type of containers. Take care! ❤️✌🏼
@@WildwoodVagabond and you certainly guessed that finnish men NeverEver pour Vodka to lake 🤣🤣
well damned be you, not only did you beat me by hours, your answer is vastly superior.
You and I, are now enemies. :)=
Though Kinder is German if I remember correctly 😊 Though popular in Finland.
It's Italian.
Kinder means children in german
I love punaviinimarja! They're sometimes crazy sour but i love everything sour. Also mustamakkara! ahh its sooo good
I almost forgot this... This video was funny... TY for Lumilapio. Have a great weekend

Go Finland 🤣🤣🤣 We are super weird!!!
Haha 😂 weird but awesome!
Too humble, but laugh ble Like Ismo Leikola no wait... I mean Ismo from Salkkarit.
During Our history We have been under The Swedes / The Russian / and so They have taught US - Their language ! Thank God - that English is much easier - to learn ! I wish that All English speakers were taught Swedish / Russian - so They would find " suomi " much easier !
My American friend said to me about the breathing... I still have no idea what they mean by it 😂😂😂
I think what she means is the following
jumolanuoli ï nimiži
nouli se han oli omo bou
jumola soud'ni iohovi
which if am not mistaken roughly translates to
ArrowOfGod is thy name
This arrow is gods own
god of doom/judgement leads/rules.
it is apparently from something called birch bark letters, from 13th century but it is not really finnish but karelian.
If I am mistaken, please, feel free to correct.
I only looked this up since asked so :)
good tidings.
Thank you for taking the time to look that up and respond! I appreciate it! I hope you have a great weekend
Well that was not Finnish lol
wtf that’s not finnish😂
@@sanni7100 Well, that is what I said. But we would probably have a hard time understanding 13th century finnish as well.
Yup. Looks like Karelian language to me. (Same linguistic family though)
You’re absolutely wrong about Mustamakkara. Ok, it taste bad alone. So does lingonberry jam. But those together - super delicious. Believe me, it is true. My ex-wife taught me that.
I was never brave enough to try it lol
Maybe next time when you visit Finland / Tampere.
I think Mustamakkara is pretty delicious as is. I prefer to keep it in the oven for a bit longer than suggested to make the surface extra crispy. The Tapolan Mustamakkara is the best for me. For more information, see en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mustamakkara
I know they used to hand out free buckets during berry picking season... also mushroom season so you could go pick your own from the forest.
Red currant is one of my favorite berries!
5:43 thats true! I do this sometimes😱🤣
Terve. Olet hieno suomen lähettiläs. 👍👍 Kiitos videoista.♥️♥️
Finnish person would never pour perfectly good vodka away. That fish released was too big, it doesnt taste good and is important for ecosystem. Cereal and milk is not from Finland, we dont sell milk in plastic.
Agreed. That was fake
"Muista Pekka kirjottaa ne lopputekstit tähän"
😂
2:14 had to google it but she's likely referring to Tuohikirje 292 aka Birch bark letter no. 292. It's not perfectly understood but it could be a spell that has to do with thunder.
Interesting! Thank you for the insight
I worked so hard to find that knowledge myself, but you did that first :D Good for you :)
9:23 is this in Lahti? I‘ve got a picture that looks exactly the same...! (Without that guythough...)
Amazing finnish!!!😉
The black sausage was originally called "lämmin sianverimakkara". It means "warm pig's blood sausage". They decided to change the name to mustamakkara (black sausage) for some reason.
Mustamakkara tampere, rössy oulu it is making blood. My favorites.
++Well i agree totally about that claim about punainen viinimarja. Well damn, that those taste so sour. And the same thing goes with puolukka. Well it´s not good without you making it as Vispipuuro. And even then you got to make sure, that you got enough milk and sugar to filled it up with. If you know, what i mean????
Haha so true!
Im Finnish and I never even realized the thing about breathing in while talking.
did someone just say free buckets🤩
Is that last video at käärmekallio in Hervanta?
My mom in law totally does the talking inward thing its so cute
I think it’s so cute too!
This lumilapio thing is probably getting viral. Just wait until you have one million subscribers and everybody everywhere in the world is saying lumilapio without knowing what it means.
Haha 😂 that would be awesome

Yes, That vodka finsing is true.
This is the oldest know Finnish text en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Birch_bark_letter_no._292 also know as "Birch bark letter no. 292". And that is a spell.
Im from Finland !!!!!
I wanted to ask you a question
Are cars prices in finland equivalent to USA or they are cheaper.
I believe the prices are more expensive in Finland. Especially because of the vehicle tax they have to pay in finland. That is what makes it quite a bit more expensive. But as far as I can tell the actual price of the vehicle isn’t too much more.
Car prices in Finland and Norway are huge. You can buy the same car in Sweden for about half the price. And in Germany you pay about half the price you pay in Sweden. Prices in the USA are definitely more affordable than in Finland.
@@WildwoodVagabond I bought a car 6 years ago. I paid about USD 12650 here in Sweden. Today the exact same car costs USD 28640 in Finland. And I mean it's 6 years older now.
Kareem 😲
How long you was in finland? Student? Love your videos :)
Finnish people's are very Brave doing different stuff not all them but most of them. Jee suomi mainittu
I'm from finland😁😁
I also dont understand the bucket frenzy. I mean, I do have like a dozen of those. But I have never gone somewhere just because they give free buckets.
because its free dude FREE
Breathe so much because every word is 400 syllables long
I think the salt and pepper part was about how many Finns only know one "spice": salt. If you put pepper, too, it's too spicey for those people. And the pepper is the only spice accepted in addition to salt by many people in Finland. At the same time, those people often find salty liquorice tasting good contrary to the rest of the world. Then there are exceptions like myself who love salty liquorice and chili and curry.
Moi raakkeli! Kivoja nää sinun perjantaivideot :)
Moi!! Kiva kuulosta ❤️
Some of my family is from Finland
I can speak some Finnish
2:52 Finnish people sometimes fish just for fishing not for eating them.
I’m from finland
I live in finland
Do you know where that expression "lumilapio" comes from originally? I was born in Finland, but haven't lived there for more than 50 years
so I just don't know. I never heard it before I started watching your videos.
I don’t know where it originated from but I had a finnish friend tell me that sometimes finnish people will tell foreigners that the way you say hello in Finnish is lumilapio 😄 apparently it’s an inside joke
@@WildwoodVagabond Inside joke for sure, I would think.
Well I'm a Finn and I've never heard that outside this channel :)
Well, well, well. At least "lumilapio" sounds better than the Swedish equivalent "Snöskyffel".

The longest word? That's what you wanna know? Well it's lentokoneturbiinisuihkumoottorialiupseerimekaanikkokokeliasoppilas wich basicly translates to airplane turbine motor mechanic student. But it's just one word in Finnish. Imagine having that as your job!
...moniosainen yhdyssana,ei yksittäinen sana.
Imagine if someone asked you what your job is
Guinnessin vahvistama pisin suomenkielinen perusmuotoinen yhdyssana.

9:00 this splits opinions, but do you think that horse shoe is upside down
rahi tekee
I don’t think it is. Is it upside down to you?
A horseshoe mounted above the door (a good luck charm for the whole farm;-) must be mounted that way, like "U". It is like a bucket, tip It over and the luck is lost.
@@Timoohz yes i have heard that before :D anyone do as they please, but i think it's right when it's arched up like rainbow.
6:41-7:05 When the impostor is Finnish
❤️❤️❤️ After watching this I think I have to say that finnish people are even more weird than swedes + norwegians combined. These 3 neighbour countries, Finland Sweden and Norway, have always been sizing each other up (plus Denmark..). Norway is like the "Big brother" (sensible, down to earth), Sweden (the little brother, rather "dumb" and naive), Denmark (partying hard, very liberal) and Finland (introverted alcoholics). ;P
Haha 😂
Lol are we even related at this point
Sweden is bigger ;) unless you count Greenland as Denmark, then Denmark is bigger ;) The Swedes consider the Norwegian the "funny/slow" ones ;)
As a Swede I second that. We really are naive like little children. It’s embarrassing... We need SISU!
Musta makkara is not disgusting because of blood but because of the horrendous damn consistency. Fight me, tamperelaiset.
Well never mess up with us Finns, or you will find yourself dead with a sign Perkele= the devil tattoed on your skin. And yes, those plastic buckets still make me wonder. But to be honest, i´ll think that i have found the answer for those too. Cause you know, in sauna you need some water to be thrown to the stoves, right? Well more water filled on to those extra buckets will give you more of that heat, right? Well i quess, that it is going to be like a hell of a ride in our saunas tonight!!!!
Haha 😂 have a great weekend!
Buckets be good when u need to throw up (because we all alcoholic here) and cant make it into bathroom. Y'all dont have a bucket under your bed just in case?
A hat tip, cheers and lumilapio to you too.
Cheers and lumilapio to you as well!
