That amp really does make you just want to play. It is one of the most fun amplifiers I’ve tried! It has a ton of a range for such a simple little fella! Great job on this with all the different speaker tones!
I am starting to go down a speaker rabbit hole. I just got an older 2005 chinese V30 the other day and a set of new Celestion V types... along with a new 412 cab that has heritage greenbacks and on old 1990's v30 in it... there will be more speaker content soon!
@@BaritoneGoatStudio I'm good with that! The speaker rabbit hole is never ending. The combos and just all of it. I actually really enjoy making and watching speaker videos. I just got a Creamback I'm going to compare to the DV77. Seemed to be a popular request! Also, greenbacks rule.
Thx for the Demo ! The Sound is very good! The DV77/Redback Mix is a perfekt Match . Stay tuned Sir ! ( Pls. Try the Maxon 808 with the Fireball , its very good sounding)
It really is. I have owned a handful over the last year and played a couple others, but this one just hits different. The full sized tubes seem to be the difference. The only other amp that came close to the volume was the MT15.
Great demonstration and review! Congrats! I’m setting up my mind for the Fireball 25! Just a few questions, if you don’t mind: 1. Would you prefer the classic version, with 6L6 tubes, or the SE with K77 tubes? - would you match this head with the 1x12” cab or the 2x12”..? Considering that I don’t use it so much in live situations and I live in an apartment.. big apartment but still with people below. If you think the 1x12” is enough to match the Fireball 25 - due to the fact it’s a 60W cab - I’ll consider it instead of the 2x12”. Still, maybe the sound pressure of the 2x12” is the same of the 1x12”, at low volume?
I like the sound of a 2x12 overall, but if you are using in an apartment, a 1x12 using the power soak would be better. At half power a 2x12 won’t fill out the same. Even at full power as low volumes the 1x12 might sound better. But if you plan to ever open it up, a 2x12 is fun. In terms of the 6L6 version, the only thing I have seen with other comparisons between the two versions is that the clean channel sounds a bit louder and more forward, but the high gain channels seem pretty identical with maybe a little more lows from the KT77s, but it is subtle.
Soldano is a tough one due to price, but they are damn good sounding! The 6L6 version of this I think is worth what they charge, and the second hand market into too bad on em. This KT77 mode was acquired by pure luck, I hope they do another run soon.
@@jconner3891 I use it with the EVH stealth. I have a video where I go through the pedal with the stealth. It has a great range of tones. The clean channel is amazingly clean and powerful. The lead channel can do a lot, I just like aggressive metal 😂. I probably should have tried to get more crunch and rock tones.
I assume the EL34s could be swapped in, but I am not sure of the internal bias configuration. the main thing I would make sure of is the output transformer can handle the draw from the tubes, but I think KT77s are hotter than EL34s anyway. could be wrong.
Definitely loved the 7 string with the blade the best! Were u using the Redback and dv77 in that part or the v30? I’m still wanting to pair a creamback 75 with my Redback but the dv77 sounds damn good too!
@@majkon93 it really depends on the guitar. Most of my passive guitars I run audio taper pots on the volume, and can get it to clean up ok as long as I disengage the built in noise gate, and roll the threshold back on my upfront noise gate. The lead channel has a lot of gain, but with the mid boost you will keep the meat of the sound with the volume rolled back. You also would probably get the most from rolling the channel gain back and pushing the channel volume for more round cleaner edge of breakup stuff. You can get more compression and grit from the clean channel of you dime the gain, it just takes a bit to get there. A lot of clean headroom.
@@N6J6R6 the tube architecture of a KT77 is compatible with EL34s. I don’t think you could use 6L6s without modification. I am unsure if these amps have a fixed bias or not. Typically a 6L6 is interchangeable with a 5881 or KT66 tube.

@@johnasbury3744 yeah. This is technically a lunchbox head, kinda. It is bigger than many on the market. But, with a full sized power section, it isn’t really comparable to other amps that use el84s. The volume gradient and push is closer to a 50w head. In Europe, where they are made, they only cost about $800 US. The fireball 100 is only about $1,900 for two more power tubes.
