Damn, the dubstep bit is a huge throwback for those of us who've been paying attention to you from the very beginning.
I was thinking the same thing! Like damnn its been a minute since the Pinn Panelle days!
@@joeygonzalez7989 that video is one of my favourite things on UA-cam
Wtf is tha piece of technology
@@jameskaipriest7025 Hot Hand
what effect is he controlling with the hot hand?
The cleanness of your bass playing will forever upset me.
😂 Thanks, Rob.
I feel so much motivation from his playing!
I love the smooth transition between those genres! Tejano and Technical metal is such another world xp
You should check out Twelve Foot Ninja :3
that tech death riff is insane. also love that you played some actual metal for the metal categories, most people would just play what you did for the rock category
Facts
Duhjent
Bad metal
Yeah it was some nice djenty/modern metal stuff, very good
he played metalcore lol
Your Hot Hand discarding technique is impeccable. Awesome video, Nathan.
🤣 There was no other way.
@@NateNavarro Hope you didn't hurt your thumb - I couldn't help looking for a blood trail. 😉
There needs to be a Tejano/Tech Metal band now for the World to enjoy!
Sure there is cuz it’s a rip off of polka.
no
That transition from tech death to funk was brilliant 😂
Spector bass sounds amazing...wow i love it! Great job dude thanks
Gotta be one of the best sesh bassists out there. I'll happily see a band with him on bass, even if they suck.
He's got the gig with Porcupine Tree on their Closure/Continuation tour.
I need a full version of your Giant Steps
Man can you do an in-depth review of that dubstep bit like how you did that? That was insane!
He used a device called Hot Hand Wah I believe, from Source Audio, that’s how he got that one effect, that and an octaver.
Fantastic playing. Been wanting to see more of your hot hands dubstep ever since I saw you on Basstheworld's video.
I need a wireless dubstep setup guide from you. You're pretty much the father of it's usage now!
That tech death to funk Segway was amazing.
Thanks for watching, guys! Which style is your favorite?

EDIT FAQ: What are you using for the Dubstep sound?
I'm using a Source Audio Hot Hand 3 (the ring on my thumb) with a Source Audio C4 Synth Pedal. I'm pretty stoked about the rig for this one - I had everything running through a Neural DSP Quad Cortex, which was connected over USB to my computer. I automated all of my patch changes with Logic Pro. I can do an effects edit, talking about it more in depth if any of you guys are interested. Here are some affiliate links to the C4, which was the main source of the dubstep sound...

Loved them all. Two handed tapping isn't my style personally but love the others. Performed them myself over the years. Diversity as a bassist is important i think.
This was amazing I absolutely love dubstep and can’t believe you made that sound with a bass! I’m very interested in the C4 pedal, can you make a lot of dubstep sounds with it?
Your playing is unbelievable in all these styles, but I have to say the jazz and funk hit the spot for me 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🙌🏻
I really want your book ... but it should be published in Russian))))
That metal riff was straight Meshuggah
rock,metal,jazz,funk
I need more of that Dubstep device
You are a master of your craft, incredibly versatile and I always enjoy your videos, so thank you for making them. What was the device used for the dubstep?
It is Source Audio Hot Hand, works with their bass filter pedals (like Manta) to control the settings.
Thanks, Bass On The Mark. Yeah, what Tima239 said. I'm using a Source Audio Hot Hand 3 (the ring on my thumb) with a Source Audio C4 Synth Pedal for the Dubstep section. I'm pretty stoked about the rig for this one - I had everything running through a Neural DSP Quad Cortex, which was connected over USB to my computer. I automated all of my patch changes with Logic Pro. I can do an effects edit, talking about it more in depth if any of you guys are interested. @@NateNavarro Is that patch on the C4 available on the SA app? My bass board is all SA now thanks to your videos! I bought the Hot Hand 3, but can't really make it do what i am hearing in your videos.
@@NateNavarro for some reason, when I tried to connect hot hand 3 and c4 synth using a neuro hub - bugs began to appear in the work of the Soleman, the problem was solved only by disconnecting hot hand 3 from the neurohub and returning the soundblox envelope filter to the circuit
@@roberthealey8960 nothing will work)))) since 2015 I have been trying an acceptable sound for dubstep using the source audio pedals - I still did not like 100% of any of the results ...
Dubstep
I need this thing that you put on your finger in my life
AMAZING!
Good demonstration x3
What a cool ride Nate! Please post more frequently.........I love your enthusiasm for bass. Slap long and slap often!!!!
Result of the video: spector does everything perfectly! I love mine!
Oh man so nice to see this come up on my recommends multiple times. I swear your clean, refined playing is my biggest inspiration for sanding down the rough edges of my own playing.
Nice work Nate! Always a pleasure.
Amazing.
It is mostly because of you that I ordered my first Spector now.
I'm stoked...!
So looking forward.
Hats off
Funk and disco is why I fell in love with bass
Fenomenal skills Nathan. Great job👍
These transitions are sick, and that's fun to see again the Hot Hand !
Exceptional playing Nate!
i'm in love with that tone, Spector's basses slaps (literally), nice video!
Great man !
That dubstep is interesting! I feel that needs to be more explored!!
Man, I just love that thing you do with the thumb thingy for dubstep (forgot what it's called). One of the reasons I subscribed a long time ago!
Great video!
Always treat to here them bass tones
Wow the dubstep one was so sick!
You're undoubtedly a great bass player🤘🏼 & that bass and the tone is super amazing too...♥️♥️♥️
Wow plz do more tech death thx
Nathan Navarro God of Bass
I'll never be as good as you, but I can dream! Brilliant performance as always.
Love it!
That funk part brought on the stank face
The tone of that bass is amazing. Fantastic playing too, I hope to one day be half as good xD
Sos un capo total del bajo electrico.
Great stuff. That run at the end of your Funk demonstration of reminiscent of John Deacon’s playing on “Dragon Attack” by Queen. And it was right after the “Play That Funky Music” riff. ✌️✌️
Bro that was fkn awesome
That was so COOL.
Daaaaaamn I got to step my bass game up - He good.
Being fan of funk, disco AND metal - especially the here demonstrated styles - I need to tell you, GOOD JOB SIR!!!
Yes ! Master of the hot hand is back !! What a thrill
The madman hit the 1 5 6 4 right after jazz.
Awesome 😍😍😍
I have that bass! Nice
That disco was groovy!
Awesome video. And just shows how much a good quality bass truly can transition or sit in anyway genre well. Hence my love for Spectors. :)
That little tech bit was lit as hell!
Rockin that Spector 😎
That funk groove was tasty.
Oye, qué locura!!
Nate's bass stank face is too precious.
NICE
Would love to see this as a series featuring different basses
We need more videos Nathan
Great video! You've got it all! What's that thing on your thumb for the dubstep bit?
as i always say, NATE THE GREAT(EST) !!! 🐐🔥
Маладэц ! Ты Герой нашего времени ! 👍
Tech Death riff is on point.
LOL i love going from tech death straight to funk!
This is the shortest yet proggiest song Ive ever heard. So many change ups
PRETTY IMPRESSIVE DUBSTEPPIN'
Nathan. Please _please_ make some of your cover/tab videos feature some crazy tech death. You know you want to. We wanna see it.
GENIO 👏
That disco bassline is SMOOOOOOOOOOOOOTH
HELL YA!
Very cool!
What was that dubstep ring gadget you used?
Eccellente👍👏😆
What??? That Tech-Death segment was sick!
Eximperitus in the thumbnail, nice!
Man, this really makes me want to dig my old Hot Hand out. Its been over half a decade since I last touched it.
Once again thanks for making me feel inferior in every way🤦♂️😂😂 anazing job dude🤘🤘
0:55 Pinn Panelle days 🤘
I've never heard of rock very interesting
Please please to a video of you play different types of Mexican music like Nortena, cumbia, huapango, tejano and corrido I would love to see what you add too it !!!
Show Man 🇧🇷🇧🇷
The switch from tejano to tech death killed me
He's a monster!
Excellent Master, i have a question, what is the name of the ring you wear in dubstep?
Just bought that same bass...now if I could play 10 percent as well as you
Pop got me thinking about The Ramones. Please consider doing a punk rock style timeline like Fred Armesian did with the drums.
I love how for metal you put an unreadable band logo ahahah. Nice playing too.
I don't even know how to read it when its typed out, its eximperituserqethhzebibšiptugakkathšulweliarzaxułum but eximperitus for short
OMG what was that thing you were using for Dubstep that was so cool
NATE I NEED TO KNOW WHERE YOU GOT THAT DUBSTEP GADGET!!!
The Wah Ring is okay? 🤣
Cool stuff dude, that is.. WOW
Ohhh god thanks , some one finally understand how good is bass in tech death
WHAT DID YOU USE FOR THE DUBSTEP?! OML I NEED THAT! I COULD ADD AN ENTIRELY DIFFERENT SOUND TO MY STUFF! It'd sound so neat in a solo
I think that's the ring thingy that Herman Li uses the same thing.
Que grande que eres Bro. Todo un espectáculo.
What tool was used for dubstep? I’ve always wanted to try it
Please breakdown what you are doing at 0:39 I've been trying to do something similar for ages but cant work out a good way to do it.
what was that weird thing in ur finger when u did the dubstep thing? impressive!
I miss "la cumbia" in this top
