This has been so helpful to me. I have been having trouble with pain in the back of my legs and the toes of my feet getting numb. This happened to me twice before in the last 20 or 30 years and it seemed to have come from sitting at the computer For a long time. Recently, I was sitting in a chair with my leg over my knee on the telephone Bending forwardand when I stood up I was getting a lot of pain in the back of my legs and My feet were getting numb again. When I went to the Dr. he said I had stenosis. He said it was because of old age. I'm 68. I remembered that I had similar problems 20 years ago when I wasn't old. He also said there was no cure. I am going to start doing press-ups and see if they don't help. I want Bob and Brad to know that last year I had Shoulder Impingementand I did the exercises they had in their videos and in a couple of months, I no longer have any pain issues in my right shoulder. I really appreciate What they do.

I have sciatica but in the front! I also have lumbar stenosis, lumber radiculopathy, lumbar spondylosis, and mild degenerative disc disease! (An orthopod told me this!) Your stretches help!! I walk a lot too which helps! It hurts if I sit too long. Standing too long hurts too! The doctor told me chiropractors, physical therapists, massage, exercise, acupuncture. Any of that will help. I don't use acupunture though. I'm almost 56.

Super helpful. I've been seeing a PT for three months with little success, and finally I stumbled upon you guys. This is exactly my issue. Ran uphill, probably tore my piriformis, and it's just not getting better. Sitting for too long etc. painful. Even just walking, I feel it.Definitely not my back, but when my leg is a little bent, it's worse. Going on two years now. Exhausting. Feels chronic at this point. 47 years old, fit man. Very annoying.

This video clarified my problem perfectly while 10 years of MDs and chiropractic care did nothing (except empty the bank). I have lumbar stenosis; leg pain and loss of coordination from standing and walking, relief from sitting. I got the McKenzie Treat Your Own Back book and have had relief from their exercise #3 Extension in Lying, which is somewhat contrary but it helps.
Thank you so much for your honest videos.

Wow, thanks guys! I have been doing these stretches where I touch my palms to the ground and then bend backwards as far as I can, all to relieve this pain that runs from my lower back to my feet bottoms. Thing is this worked much, much faster... One set of 10 reps and the pain was almost erased. Unless it is placebo (I had done my old stretches while I watched this video) I am really impressed

Another great video guys. I have a suggestion for a future video and it is the difference of physical therapy perception through the years. For example, earlier, people would think of therapists as people who massage where lately, it's become a very respected medical profession.

+physicaltherapyvideo yes I have, it is really pushing physical therapy out to the public that yes, we are professionals. In my opinion, there are positives and negatives. The negatives being moreso focused on the earlier generation of physical therapists where a bachelors is enough.

Filter the results to show only the 5 star items, and then filter the highest rated ones. Yes, they are costly, like $20 for a small jar. But it does really help the pain.

What causes lower back pain and pain or numbness in the FRONT of the thigh? The back pain has lessened but the front thigh is still numb and sore. I think I have a herniated disk (I had excruciating pain in my back and could hardly walk for a couple of days) that pinched the nerve going down front of my thigh, pain doesn't go down past my knee. I see videos about "nerve flossing" but have never heard of that before. My doctor told me about dermatomes and it looks like L3 and possibly L2 have the problem - but no problem at or past my knee. Thank you for any info, I don't know whether I should be doing exercises or avoiding exercises. Basically I don't know anything about this-will it go away on its own, how long will it take. This video was a big help.

I'm a 27 year old male and former wrestler who sprained his ankle and was told I tore two of the three ligaments in his ankle and had some minor nerve damage (when I was 17), how normal would it be for someone in my shoes to develop something like sciatica 9-10 years later? For the past few months almost every day I wake up or I stand up I get an awful pain in both legs, sometimes in my lower back, sometimes down the back of my legs into my knees, and then other times down my ankles and into my heels. It's never been horrible enough to bring it up to my doctor yet, and it feels better as I get up and moving and stay on my feet, but my girlfriend has definitely started to notice that anytime I get out of bed in the morning I grimace so that's a sign somethings up to no good. It simultaneously feels like everything has tightened up but is also unstable.
    Any advice?

For the last 2 months if I sit it hurt down my left thigh like as if I had pulled a muscle in my thigh and my foot has been numb and if I had coughed or tried to poop or puked it would hurt the whole left thigh!? But then 3 days ago I ended up in emergency thinking I had a kidney infection (I am also type 1 diabetic with A LOT of diabetic ketoacidosis & hypoglycemia) and during that visit the doctor had done the test where the doctor hits your knees to see the reflex and apparently my left leg didn't move at all! But the doctor was more worried about the right flank pains I was having so my left leg pain was ignored. But now it's gotten so much worse, so I just want to know why this hurts

I'm confused. You started talking about a herniated disk and then changed it to sciatica. I have spinal stenosis but this is a recent pain that is worse when sitting or laying down.

There are a few ideas for treating back pain at home
      Consider using Chiropractor Spinal Adjustments.
      Consider using Yoga or Stretching.
      Try Acupuncture or Massage Therapy.
Don't site for Long Periods, keep Moving!
      Use Heat Pads.
(I discovered these and why they work from Makalls Remedy Plan site )

What if you have both??? I was diagnosed with a severe spinal stenosis and herniated discs along with a few other problems. I have so much pain in my lower back that radiates all the way down my right leg to my foot that I can barely walk anymore and the little bit of walking I do has me tears with in a few minutes. I've seen every kind of doctor and have tried anything and everything and nothing helps! I can deal with some pain but I want to be able to walk again!!

My recent MRI report was L-5 stenosis. But my symptoms are like you describe for a herniated disc. Walking and standing are pretty much pain free, but sitting for 15 minutes to 1/2 hour is painful with the sciatica exactly as you describe. Is the MRI wrong? There is no mention of a herniated disc in the report.

+physicaltherapyvideo Thank you for the response, my MRI came back clean however my pain symptoms seems to match those of herniated disc, I have a foam roller I use it around my hips and butt area, I make sure I don't use it directly on my lumbar spine. It gives me an instant pain relief but it doesn't seem to cure the pain once I get up and walk around ? what should I do ? thanks
