I still have malls here in south east Asia where I live but I sure really miss these stores. I wish they were still around today

Never really spent time in Kaybee Toys. When my nieces and nephews were the age to buy for I preferred Toys R Us and miss those more! Bigger spaces and more to offer.

lol, we always went into KB Toys as kids but never actually purchased anything there. We would look and then end up buying it later at ToysRus.

In fact a lot of these stores we're really more known in the 90's, . From what I remember. . A lot of these stores in this video didn't get big and well-known until then.

I never understood the appeal of Hollywood Video. When you'd walk in, they'd have entire walls of the same current title. That whole idea never made sense to me. I mean, why couldn't they just devote a shelf with the box art and keep the actual copies behind the counter or in the back room? Another problem with that is if the movie sucked and no one wanted to watch it, the place was pretty useless. They had a very small portion of the store with other titles, but they'd have only a few copies if any.
Thanks for the video though! Brought back some memories.

I never rented at Hollywood Video. I went there to buy. But this was in the 2000's when I was in my 30's. They had a great Anime section.

I cannot believe Blockbuster didn't pioneer home delivery of movies and then streaming video. A case study in failed senior leadership.

Hollywood video was not really around, or that big if it was, in the 80s, neither was Blockbuster for that matter for the most part, . . I remember going to local Mom and Pop style video stores, . They always had that off limits room behind The swinging doors in the back. . . Those big movie store chains were more of a 90s thing even though it started in the late eighties
