My mom would buy my shoes exclusively from Payless! Sad to see it go as well. Blockbuster was like a weekly trip with the family and we ALL got to choose a movie I remember that fond memory ❤ Last but not least the closing I will NEVER be able to overcome is the closing of Borders! 💔 I remember vividly going weekly at the LEAST to make some exciting purchases. I have fond memories of KB Toys. I bought some of my favorite things there when I was a kid. Things like Fistful of Aliens, Rock Em' Sock Em' Robots with interchangeable parts, Primal Rage action figures, and so on. So many of the more abstract toys of my childhood came from them, and they helped shape my interests that have remained similar to this day so many years later. Hell, I always preferred going there over places like Toys R' Us, but I only got to go once in a blue moon because it was so much farther away than Toys R' Us, a local shopping mall, and other places with toys like K Mart and Walmart. It was in a small strip mall area, with several other stores at either side and across from it. I still remember the aisles from that KB Toys; three aisles with shelves reaching the ceiling, lined with toys for both boys and girls, heavier toys being at the very top and requiring a clerk to get them down, the counter and clerk directly to the left upon entering the shop with no metal detectors (Fellow Americans, remember those days?), and my favorite part of the store being the video game wall where everything was in a backlit shelf behind a door similar to the cold drinks at a 7-11.
I miss KB Toys. It had so much more soul than other toy shops around my childhood home.

Wow, what a tour in memory lane. I shopped on most of these stores, specially Tower Records in NYC. KB Toys, Whoolworths, A&P, CompUSA, Circuit City, Payless, Ames, Sports Authority , Sam Goody, Border's, Toys R Us, Crazy Eddie's was another i frequently visited. Radio Shack was my RC cars store. I miss these store's. Blockbuster Video killed by streaming and mail in DVD's. Sad story to the best store's ever. Btw, in Puerto Rico Toys R Us became Toy's For Us.

I remember at my nearby mall, that there was a Sears, Borders (now a T.J. Maxx), and a K. B. (wasn’t into video games at the time). I don’t know if you know WatchMojo but Toys R Us is back in the United States as a store in Macy’s.

A LOT of these stores bring back memories of my childhood, lol. As far as the stores I've gone to as a kid or shopped in as an adult, Woolworths, Toys R Us, KB Toys, Foot Locker, Circuit City, CompUSA, Borders, Radio Shack, (I'd buy electronic components from there by the bags), Sam Goody/FYE. I remember Wet Seal from my teen mall rat days, not to mention walking the aisles at Blockbuster on Friday nights looking for that one movie and video game rental.
I'm surprised WatchMojo didn't mention FAO Schwartz - it was a HUGEEEEEE toy store in NYC. In fact, it was featured in Big, with Tom Hanks (the piano/Chopsticks scene)

When I worked in a mall, I would always go to Teavana and the team there would steep a nice, fresh cup of tea for me. Hell, I still use some Teavana branded tea tins. I will forever miss them, but I have since found a new tea house to frequent.

I was a Little Kid when I went to some of these stores.
    1: COMP USA
    2: KB Toys
    3: Warner Bros. Studio Store
    4: Circuit City
    5: Kmart
    6: blockbuster
I am a 90s kid and so only the 1990s people who are my age or younger or even older will remember.
    RIP to these Stores
However, on the side note, there was a Rumor a few years ago, in 2018 that after toys R Us Closure, that KB Toys was planned to make a Comeback, however, this Never happened, due to lack of proper funding to make this happened.

The Radio Shack at the Broadway Mall in Hicksville, New York. I went there to find the resistor needed to manufacture the key needed to play an uncracked copy of Leader Board Golf for Commodore 64. I got the correct resistor and two alligator clips. The key I was able to produce wasn't pretty, but it *did* work!

I remember going to KB Toys all the time at my local mall as a little kid and usually got one of the following:
    1) *OG "Ben 10" Action Figures*
(since that's when the show was first came out)
    2) *Godzilla Toys*
(since I grew up watching some of the OG Godzillas)
    3) *Jurassic Park Dinosaur Toys*
(since JP3 was still somewhat popular at the time)

I really enjoyed Teavana. Not only for their teas, but their cups and pots! I hope I'm able to keep the few pieces I got from them for a long time.
As a teen, I loved visiting Borders. I'd buy a new book and then get a coffee at Seattle's Best.
