Don't forget that purge and seal also tests vent valve is actually closing, so many up here (ohio) throw large leak codes and have failed vent valves cause they are stuck open. Love the vids!
I bought a low-cost smoke machine off Amazon (I don’t recall the brand) and first thing I did was add a regulator to the air outlet so that I wouldn’t have to worry about damaging any evap systems. I also appreciate not needing shop air. It’s been a fantastic little unit!
Ya definitely no more than 1/2 PSI for testing Evap systems is what we were taught. Nice machine Jake. Your right about that hose being to close to the body metal. That's called "Planned Obsolescence" or a wreck. Our first smoke machine at the shop needed shop air to work. This one's nice with it's own compressor.
I really like my icon made in USA . 👊🏻yes it takes air but I work at home only so it’s great. 15 psi will blow out evap systems they need less then 3psi
Looks like it works very well. I have an Autoline Pro Ventus and their other smoke machine and I don't think either one puts out as much smoke as that one does. I also have a Thinkcar smoke machine but I have not tried it out yet.
spot on . smoke machine for me is a must intake leaks . evap leaks . vacuum leaks . just makes the job sooo easy . not 100% of the time but a good 90% i would say . especially those little leaks . saves spraying soapy water at it and seeing if you can here the vac leak 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Edit: My advice to anyone that is looking to buy one of these units. I'd check eBay first. The Ancel unit that I have I got at a great price. I clicked the "Make an offer" button, I think the buy it now price was $189 or so, and I offered $150, and a short time later they responded and said ok. You'd be surprised at the amount of times these sellers will take way less than the listed price for some of this stuff. That unit looks very similar to an Ancel unit I've got that was around 190 dollars I think from eBay. Even the accessories included all look suspiciously similar. This Foxwell unit looks pretty decent also. I think you'd do alright with either unit if the price was competitive.
What a cracking machine for the money, going on my shopping list to replace my homemade paint can 😂 are spares readily available for it? I may email them to ask if I can distribute in the UK as we don’t seem to have anyone selling here

Half a psi for evap system for those that don't know.

Looks like a nice smoke machine. I remember when the smoke machines first came out and how expensive they were!
Nice little smoke machine! Easy diagnostic and repair. Good job, Jake!

Having to use shop air is a deal breaker for me being mobile. The 15 psi will come in handy on turbo intake systems.
@@autodiagyt yeah it definitely has those options covered
11:54 Hi Jake, best flashlight for this work, which has a yellow light.

Just purchased for the mobile van. Thanks for the heads up

Definitely an essential tool
Reading comments to see of anyone knows what that "orifice" was @ 14:45 It looks out of place.

Спасибо за обзор.

nice little smoke machine for mobile work. fyi aeswave sells evap test adapter kit little pricey 👍

I use smoke machine oil from the dollar store. They call it baby oil. Thanks, the old school guy
Very cool
15 psi for evap system???
It’s adjustable I just always go with whatever and just watch it.
👍
❤❤❤❤❤❤
Maybe that bottle is made from Chryslers 3.6 oil cooler plastic 😂
Hope Snap-On sees this and sends you one of their Smart Smoke machines to demo.
Try it on your Subaru :O)
Yeah I wish snapon would send me tools but even if they did they probably would only send it for a temporary demo lol

Jealous Toyota tech here. The newer systems take 25 minutes to run an auto evap test to view the graph.
Yep I hate that test. Takes forever
