If you don't have another PRS in your collection I would keep that one and search no more for PRS guitars. That one is a beauty. Break it in. Put some miles on it. Let it wear into your hand a bit. 😁
Just bought a 2024 US Paul’s in Black Gold. But I was hunting for one. I went from “one of each” AKA a tele, a strat, a Les Paul. A LP Jr, a Ric, a Hollowbody, a Jazzmaster to buying a Core Limited PRS 594 in 2019 and selling everything in search of more PRS. I really think Paul is in his “Golden Era” like Gibson was in the late 50s. Now I have three US PRS - a SC594, a Silver Sky and a Paul’s. Along with an HSS Strat from HS and an Electric XII, I’m all set.
Everyone tries to compare these single coils to a Stratocaster and that’s not at all what the original intent was supposed to be. When you flip the switch it kills one coil and adds 1500 turns to the other coil. It’s supposed to be a single coil sound but no one said it was supposed to sound like a Stratocaster. As for what it is supposed to do - it does well! It gives you a true single coil sound probably more in the area of a P90.
I would keep it. The Whale Blue is a beautiful color! I think the more you play it the more you will become attached to it. Since you picked it up in a trade it makes the cost seem more palatable. How could you let something so beautiful go after all. :)
Vinny it’s a lovely guitar BUT I am in the camp of MEY it’s a prs no soul I find it funny a lot of people thing that way ..great playing in the intro 👌👍 nags for me
Prs always seemed too fancy for my style, too clean. Like even a brand new clean les paul doesnt look *this * pristine you know haha ? I guess its all about you if u feel inspired by the look of it and u have a job for it whatever that is ( gigs, studio, 4fun at home which is also totally fine ) For me a guitar does have to inspire look wise. Most instruments sound good or u can learn to make em sound good, so why not go exactly after what you prefer the most, whatever each indivdual prefer. Is does kinda suit you tho ngl. The color is great and the inlays i actually like instead of the usual smalle birds. And becouse of the darker spots on the finish, i think it makes it look a little less pristine in a good way to me. More real and alive .
@@cechichan totally agree 100 percent. Yeah it does have a not so perfect cool look to it for sure. I know exactly what you mean. Well we shall see how long she stays around. lol.
As a previous owner of an SE and S2, neither of which were that pretty, I just found them uninspiring. They played great and had great QC but I only wanted to keep them for their looks and not playing them. You sound unsure which means to me that it's not the one.

Great looking guitar but if you are not sure means No in my book.

You are on point. I will give it a few more weeks, then most likely it will go up for sale.
Did you sell the Magnatone?
@@Blaha_haha I actually traded it for some gear
I sold mine kind of miss it haha
PRS isn't my thing. What did you trade for it? The Frank Bros?
@@seanzinger oh no. The Frank Brothers sold on Reverb this weekend. Traded an amp for it
No, you shouldn’t.
