- In today’s video, we’re doing a walk around and overview with this stunning 2001 E39 BMW M5! This E39 M5 is finished in Carbon Black Metallic over a Black/Silverstone two-tone leather interior which features ostrich leather. It is shown wearing its original Style 65 18” wheels wrapped in staggered, 245/275 tires. The E39 M5 features BMW’s wonderful S62 naturally aspirated V8 paired to a 6-speed manual transmission, which sends power to the rear wheels only. The M5 produces 394 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. This is enough to propel the M5 to 60mph in just 4.7 seconds, an incredible accomplishment for a sedan of its day.

No tech gimmicks, no overly complicated driving system, no obscene designing language, just a pure M5. A timeless looking car back from a time when BMW were still good. If you've never driven one you are truly missing out on a great driving experience!
You are my man:) I own a BMW e39 530i. But its my dream to own a E39 M5 i am just watching these e39 M5 videos everytime and just dreaming :))
Glad you enjoyed! Though not an M5, I'm sure that 530i is a blast :)
The E39 was my absolute favorite body style 5 series, and the M5 took the cake. It's also worth mentioning that in the gauge cluster, the RPM gauge had an LED redline, because when the engine was cold, it would show red, and as it warmed up, it would show yellow/orange, so the driver would be mindful of the engine temperature before driving it too hard. Also, it had a green "UP" arrow, that would light up and which would give the driver the optimal shift point for changing gears. Great video! 👍🏼
Thank you! One of the all time bests for sure! Timeless design and just great decisions made around all aspects of this car. I definitely should've mentioned the variable redline and shift lights when talking about the gauge cluster... those are the cherry on top of what is already an incredible gauge cluster.
@@bmwofmorristown9038 and I fully agree with you on BMW integrating an option or Easter egg of adding those style gauges to both iDrive 8 and 9!
classic M car for sure, love it. when i was growing up i would watch the guy richie bmw m5 video, loved the car back then and today too!
One of the all-time classics for sure! It's stood the test of time extremely well; it's as likable now as it was 20 years ago.
Great detailed review Ronnie. Lots of good information.
Thank you, glad you enjoyed!
I drive my project e36 to coffee every morning instead of my of e39 M5 just because of those cup holders! 😂
Smart move! I wouldn't trust those cup holders with a sealed water bottle let alone a cup of hot coffee 😂
Such a beautiful car.
Agreed, it's a timeless classic!
Very nice, I have the same car in silverstone metallic color. I will never sell it.
Awesome! That's a great color on these. I wouldn't sell if I had one either. Enjoy it!
@@bmwofmorristown9038 Thanks for your kind reply. Yes I love the E39 M5 and enjoy it every minute I drive it. It is in mint condition, 2001 model as well and only 60k miles. It is like new.
What moron would take their E39 M5 to a BMW dealer for service? :-). Maybe your dealer is different but dealer service has a horrible reputation that my experience backs up. I was recently forced to take my e46 to a dealer for the passenger’s side airbag recall (I was sick of mail about it) and it was returned to me with an airbag light on. They claimed it was a module for the driver’s side. So, after 20 years, I am supposed to believe an airbag module failed on the driver’s side on the same day they worked on the passenger’s side? I would have argued and asked them to fix it but I do not want them to be touch it again! I’ll just end up with another problem. Thankfully it wasn’t my e39 m5.
As is true of any business type, it all depends on which you go to. I have complete and total faith in our technicians, I see them do incredible work everyday! Sorry you had a bad experience with another store though.
Dude you are quite talented at these reviews. If you don’t have your own channel yet you should make one!
Thanks so much, really appreciate that! It's an idea I've been tinkering with, maybe someday!
@@bmwofmorristown9038 don’t hesitate, go for it!
