Thank you Kevin! Glad you’re enjoying the throwback cars, they’re a lot of fun to share. We’ll try to keep mixing them into the content schedule when we can!
Geez this thing is so clean and brings back memories when I was a young poor student lusting over this off eBay. Great overview, coupled with interesting details, good job 👍
I’ll chime in a little. I’m an E36 M3/4/5 owner of 13 years. This car does everything well. Haul groceries, drop off kids and spirited drives. Ultra reliable, easy maintenance, ultra smooth manual trans and beautiful torque curve. It does 0-60 in 5.6 and pulls hard and handles like it’s on rails. I love it so much I also bought a rare techno violet coupe. Just an amazing all around machine.
Great video and information on this car. I owned an E36 M3 sedan in Techno Violet. I had no idea about the history of the car needing to be cheaper in the US market back in the day.
You need to drive one, they retain the sorta rawness the e30 has and seat off the pants feel the e46 offers up to about 5k rpm (1-3rd gear). Very satisfying, my favorite generation. E90 and 46 are tied 2nd.
Would love to! Driving impression always seem to be positive, and what you described sounds like a fantastic recipe. Perhaps we'll try to get behind the wheel of one in the future.
Since the E36, with a few exceptions, the US gets all the good, top trim M cars. And the fact that we, and no one else, got manual versions of the E60 and F10 M5s, makes up for anything we missed :)
It was all based on economics of the time. And the us spec is absolutely fantastic. Don't get it twisted . All road going iterations of the e36 AND E46 are slow by modern standards. So that's a moot point in 2024
It’s Ana amazing torquey drive. Have drive Porsche 911, E46 M3 (S54) and S2000. While the Porsche is amazing and great car, my favorite to drive all the time is the E36. Ultra reliable engine (In 13 years and 130k miles have never cracked open the case) and easy to repair. Love the US M3.
You guys are killing it with the classics! Keep ‘em coming guys! Loving the content! I look forward to what’s behind the door…every time!

It is indeed, kudos to the owner! Glad you enjoyed the video!

This car in black with 4 door looks like a mafia 90’s car

Great Video!, Hi-Fi switch will give you a more "spicier" soundstage from the hk amp
Thank you! And thanks for the tip, we were stumped there.
Beautiful car and color!!! Would you kindly tell me what blue eatoril you use? The 335 or B45 ? Thanks
I believe the paint code for the original Estoril Blue is 335, and B45 is for Estoril Blue II that has been used more recently.
Interior color is Modena
Awesome, thank you for confirming!
I wish of was in CSR2 😢 I LOVE THIS CAR
Modena!! Is the name of the interior color!!
Thank you!!
Its hilarious bmw wouldn't give you full m cars. Even still you get watered down versions. And you never got the special editions like the gt and gt2.
