M/S of Eileen Sheridan at home, sitting in a chair and feeding her baby while her 9-year-old son, Clive, kneels at her feet. Eileen puts the baby back in the cot while commentator tells us she is no ordinary woman; "In addition to her household duties she finds the time to be a champion professional cyclist".
M/S in Eileen's garage as her husband sets a bicycle on a speed testing machine and holds it steady while Eileen gets on and starts to pedal. Various shots of her cycling on the bike as her husband times her.

Wow that’s pretty good! Especially for the kinds of bikes they had back in that day. Goes to show you it’s more about the person than the expensive bike to shave off as many grams as possible.

A reflection of society in those days. Research the magnificent Beryl Burton. She absolutely insisted on being the master/mistress in her home when it came to housework yet her husband Charlie sacrificed so much to support his wife's career. A lot of people don't realise these days that was how the division of labour worked but not generally in an oppressive way. Eileen Sheridan was evidently one of the great pioneers of British women's cycling btw and the sport owes her much.
