This is a helpful review of the Pixel Watch 2. I'm still looking forward to using it once I receive it since it's free with my Pixel 8 Pro purchase. I don't have too much expectations since it's my first smart watch but I'm definitely going to have some fun getting as much use of the fitness and wellness tracking features as possible. If anything, the display brightness might be the one thing that disappoints.
I tried the Pixel watch 2. I didn't like it as much as my ticwatch pro 3 ultra. So I gave the pixel watch to my wife and ordered a ticwatch pro 5. Got it yesterday and like it way better than the pixel watch. I just wish it had the pixel watch software. Like the Google home camera previews, the more accurate Fitbit health tracking, wear os 4 so i didnt have to reset it to switch phones, and Google Assistant.
Some of the best more practical reviews I've watched in English and Spanish. I'm extremely happy with it, for its simplicity in hardware and software as well as the Fitbit integration and data accuracy.
I ordered and received the Pixel 8 Pro, but I am still waiting for the watch. I read your review on Threads and was disappointed that there are still some shortcomings. The automatic walk tracking, and sleep tracking is disappointing also. Thanks for the review
I'm sticking with my Galaxy Watch 6 Pro, I’ve been happy with it. Got the Pixel Watch 2 as an 8 Pro pre-order freebie, so that'll go to the gf. PW2 is more fashionable than the GW6, but I prefer the rugged watch look. I'll reassess next year when the GW7/PW3 drop. (Although I did put the pixel watch faces on my GW).

my Galaxy & Apple Watches will sometimes randomly not track my sleep or they'll only credit me for 2 hours. My Galaxy watch will also say that I am awake for 2 hours in the middle of the night.
Strange about the speaker. I have the pixel watch too and the Galaxy watch 4classic and the pixel watch to has much much louder volume and clarity than the Samsung classic watch 4.
I want one to tie a bow on my personal Google ecosystem since I just got the 8 + the Buds Pro, but I'm extremely concerned about the lack of repairability and the fact that the screen has absolutely 0 protection compared to my Galaxy Watch 3 that has the rotating bezel for a shield.
@@finetings1 the included limited warranty only covers mechanical/electrical failures that you can prove to Google wasn't caused by the user basically. So "manufacturer defect" type stuff. If you buy the preferred protection plan ($89 for 2 years; $4/month up to 5 years), then you get replacements for accidental damage up to twice in a year, including drops, cracks, and spills. The main issue is that it will always be a matter of replace, and you can never get your watch repaired as an option for those without the protection plan. Even the Apple watch with its bezel-less display has means to be repaired, even though the process is tech repair hell.
Like I said in the video, there are only a couple of things behind the pay wall. The vast majority of the time I've used one of these pixel watches I've not had the subscription and my experience has been largely unchanged. The readiness scores really the only thing that I'll miss.
I hope Samsung doesn't adopt the subscribe to get watch features thing like this Fitbit premium nonsense it reminds of the BS that BMW (and Mercedes?) is doing by charging a monthly fee for heated seats like come on now

I remember when I got my 1st smartwatch I didn't think I'd use it often after about 2 months I NEVER took it off.
The mood thing has only caused me more stress with that 15 min delay lol. It goes off way too often when I'm just sitting and doing work.

Yeah, the auto tracking is weirdly inconsistent. The sleep tracking thing is also frustrating, but less common than workout tracking.
Maybe these things will be fixed with a software update.@@scaryifliteral

Thats weird, my original pixel had a horrible speaker but this seems to be way better. The calls dont crackle at all.
This sounds exactly like both of my original pixel watches.

I have heard about this lack of repairability before. Have you any idea what the warranty really covers, then?
