I always like it when a reviewer says ,"I can feel a little buzz in the pegs or grips". It's a motorcycle !!!! If you want a bike that don't vibrate get a Goldwing or better yet take your car,. I started riding in the 60s and I like to feel like I'm riding a motorcycle , feel the road under me. I ride a Himalayan and I can feel a very little buzz , feels great!
Agree, humming of that big single piston makes it feel alive and connects rider with the bike. Too much can cause discomfort but just a little bit is sign of life, like that.
Hello Craig, I’ve had my 2017 RE Classic 500 for one year now and I’ve put over 6K miles of smiles. No matter where I go specially the Harley Davidson dealership, people and other riders walk on up and strike up the conversation on how unique the RE is. Really enjoyed your video great scenery and proper discussion.
Thanks for your kind words. You have been doing some great miles by the sound of it. I agree wholeheartedly. There’s something special about them. I’m very interested to read that HD community are so positive. Different end of the bike spectrum yet similar in that they are pure bikes perhaps?
@DE BOAZ por aí. the funniest time was when I was with my mate Dave. He had his Yamaha WR ( a real weapon) and everyone ignored it but asked about the Bullet!😂 Greetings to Brazil 😀
This is a bike I've been thinking about getting for a while now so your channel as well as Stuart Fillinghams are essential viewing. I am now a subscriber to your channel.
Here’s another subscriber 🤡🇬🇧 3 years into my Enfield Classic 500 Pegasus (Also not at all bad for off-road): my 22nd two wheeled motorised vehicle and very possibly, in so many ways my best so far. My other bike is a 1983 Harley Ironhead, Which I also love to bits, but the Enfield always works!
All the nice things I wanted to hear about the Enfield! There are too many reviews out there from people who usually ride multi-cylinder touring bikes and complain that the Enfield vibrates so badly, has so little power etc. etc. but not a word about what they usually ride or what they are looking for in a motorbike! Well done.
Thank you. That’s very kind. I’m off on a 250 mile trip on the Bullet tomorrow. It’s a mixture of 60mph limit roads and a long trail . It will handle it all rather well. Since filming this video the bike is even better.
@@craigyllyn I am hoping to buy a 2020 Trials 500 from a German fellow here in Spain, it only has 2600 km. on it. I am very much looking forward to it!!
I had a Bullet 500 about 6 years ago and swapped for a Kawasaki VN900 and after a short while I missed the character of the Bullet. Last year while taking my Meteor 350 in for a service in the showroom stood a Classic 500 with only 700 mls on the clock and almost new. I am now the proud owner of the Classic 500 and the Meteor 350 and love riding both but not at the same time of course. I don't think I could part with either. Not even for a Super Meteor. Ride safe but most of all enjoy the experience.
@@craigyllyn I shall be taking delivery of a 500cc RE in a few days. Aeons ago I had a 350 RE when the Indians couldn't put the things together properly and I swore I would never buy another but have been persuaded that the latest models are OK. We shall see!
I have to agree with some of the other comments, it would have been nice to actually see the bike (and I will look at your other video) however, having said that, I lived in Dolgellau for 12 years and I miss it so it's very nice to see the roads, hills and views between there and Llanfachreth... also, I have just bought a Bullet 500 which is why I came here in the first place!
I heard that. It does get very busy on fast roads. I’ve been worried about losing the creamy torque at the bottom end but maybe I’ll try it some time 👍
This sounds very much like it used to be in the old days. Tweeds, flat cap and a pipe, if the 1930's BSA adverts are any guide. Much simpler times, though gravel still hurts if you tip yourself off. That hasn't changed....
It happily revs out in 5th so I agree that it would have benefited from a 6th gear. I’m guessing that they didn’t spend the money developing it as they were working on a long term move away to the new model range.
I agree with everything you say. I have far too many bikes and so little space! Oh why did I move? Oh, yes, so I could retire and ride! New bikes Guzzi V7 (850) Special, old bikes 1954 Guzzi Airone Sport and so on. Which bike do I ride most? You’ve guessed it my Trials! I went for a ride the other day and pulled up, waiting for lights, near a bus stop and an old bloke (there are a few older than me - honest!) I could see out of the corner of my eye getting really appreciative, smiley, giving me the thumbs up and making his wife look! I acknowledged his enthusiasm but cringed as I moved off thinking, “this will shatter his illusions, when he notices the registration plate!” 🙄🤣
Well said. There’s something about them. I’m a little surprised you don’t tend to use the V7 in preference but I do understand ( I’m rather jealous of your collection 😊😊) I went on the DGR last year in Llandudno. I’d previously been off road so it’s not exactly pretty and I chose to leave it like that for the day ( youngsters call it patina I think ) . My scruffy Bullet got far more admiration than the nearby expensive “premium “ bikes. I felt sorry for their owners.
Oh the Guzzi gets plenty of use. 🤣Just when I want a relaxing ride, which is more often these days, I take the Enfield! To be honest I have no real interest in modern bikes, in fact I’m seriously thinking of buying an old 1930 hand gear change bike! I need therapy! 🤣
oh yes! it's got a very "soft" delivery and isn't fazed by that. I also ride a 2011 BMW RT1200. Going up my local hill it won't pull 50 in top(6th). The Bullet has no such issues in top (5th).
Can you please send me the link to the channel that you recommended.. that top chap? And post the same in your description box for others. Lovely scenery. I think if you moved the camera back a little then you will get the speedometer, handlebar and grips in the video as well which would make for a better video.

After muttering on about your bike the whole video it would have been good to see the f...ing thing. All you see is a country back road and a headlight. Wow?
Good point. I thought people would be sick of the sight of the bikes by now. I was clearly wrong. I'll do a "walkaround" when I can next get out without getting soaked!

My old stomping grounds in the early 70's. Great biking country, with the obligatory stop off at the Red Lion in Dinas Mawddwy.

Why does this bike not have a 6th gear. The Torque is there. It wants to go highway speed but its limited by it's gearbox
