I can’t believe how expensive tree fern fibre is to buy for you! I thought it was expensive at $80 CAD (around $95 NZD) for a 40L bag but you guys have it really bad… I mainly use it for propagations, the majority of which I end up selling, so that helps to justify the cost. I have yet to come across a plant that hasn’t done well in fern fibre! It’s the best substrate for plant recovery too!!
One of my most useful and versatile plant tools is a metal chopstick. I use it when repotting to get rid of air pockets in the substrate like you had at 9:05.
Another idea for pushing potting mux down into the pot is to use bamboo chopsticks. They are shaped such as they work very well when pushing potting mix into tight spaces.
Okay, for the clear plant tags, make your mark with sharpie and then stick a piece of packing tape on the top and cut off any extra tape. Pseudo laminate it!
I'm living in France and it is not an easy thing to find. Even on the internet I find some from abroad overseas but with very expensive shipping fees ! I suppose I'll have to wait some time until it becomes available here !
Zip ties on the moss pole. Easy-peasy. Just remember to mark one for use next time it's time to extend the moss pole. But where do you get your plastic sheeting?
From the tactile perspective the best substrate ever is fluval stratum. Those tiny black silky balls just make me sit and play with them :) I'm neutral about tree fern fiber, but I do hate the feel of perlite. Or maybe just having it stuck to my hands.
YES the glass vessels at the thrift stores are so expensive now 😩 everytime I go to my local Goodwill now there are at least three people in the glassware section price-checking every.single.cup.
Can the lazy moss pole be extended? Does it need a garden stake or something to give it rigidity? How high have you made one of these where it was still stable? Would love a tutorial :)
Have you talked at more depth about great white water in a previous video? I’m curious about it. I could probably up my watering game especially with fertilizer
Wow the algorithm is really algorithming today. I was just thinking about extending my lazy moss pole when this video came up in my recs! Quick question, where do you get the large sheet you made your strips out of? I got lucky when I made my first lazy pole because I found a large sheet of acetate (I think?) in the garbage outside of a Walmart 😂 but now I'm running out and don't know where to find more. Also, when I have extra strips that are too small to do anything with I make them into larger strips for my pole by cutting slits into both sides and attaching them together. It works well but... I also try not to mess around with them too much either haha
Totally forgot to add a link for my plastic sheets! I’ve just added the ones I use to the description (they’re 11 x 17 binding covers in case you’re not in Canada)
@@youdontevengrowhere Thank you so much! I have literally googled every combination of the words "plastic" "acetate" "clear" "flexible" "sheets" you can imagine! You are such a life-saver I'm gonna go subscribe! Have a great day 😊
Use a grease pen to write on the clear tags as you make them. It’s normally used to write on freezer paper when you wrap wild game for the freezer. Old fashioned yes but so Wine might two know where to fund one. I’m sure you could research it.
“Because I’m a grown woman and it’s bringing the whole vibe of the room down” is my entire modus operandi 👏

My friend, thank you for good sharing 😊
Such a good idea to make a little tower to air layer! I'm definitely going to have to try it
Sorry I couldn’t help myself. Your plants are all extremely beautiful to love your video.

Was just gonna type this you genius you
Cleaning the bathroom 😂 LMAO 🤣 Thanks for the anthurium tip… ❤
I've been having luck with my anthiriums after putting them in Leca + Pumice. Those roots wants to BREATHE 💨
I've been using tree fern fiber for all my plants/props and I absolutely love it.

Great video 🙌 🪴 🙌
Omg I can’t wait for the DIY Pon video. Love your content. 💖
You cracked me up when you said I am a grown woman and I can do what I dam well want to do. Lol😹😹😹
I use my offcuts of straps to make plant tags, and I write with sharpie directly on the plastic- it stays for me! No issues with it rubbing off.
Some would say that big vessel is…. Fit for a queen HAH
Oooh I think I have your Mamei looking Philo! I’ve been trying to ID it 😂 Thank you Alice ❤
Your skin is glowing 🤩

I’ll be getting some imports from tropical plants sales. I would love for you to leave me a link to one of your import care videos
Do we have an update on the queen ??😊

“Olaf”! 😂😂😂😂😂
What is the soil you used for Waroc?
Have you tried the orchidpon from Lechuza? I’ve ordered a bag just to try with a couple of anthurium. I’m thinking they might like it
new subscriber here...great video thanks for sharing!!!

Do you need to put extra nutrients into tree fern fiber?
Get a garden marker off of Amazon. It doesn't rub off or fade
How did you treat fungus?
Dollar tree glass vesel 1.25
Brown roots equal rot? I thought it was black roots. Okay time for a panic attack 😢😢😂
Where do you get your tree fern fiber from?
I’ve been getting it from a local reptile supplier but @northshoretropicals will be stocking it soon!
What is a “soft box”? Or at least that’s what it sounds like to me.
It’s the light I use for filming!
@@youdontevengrowhere you use that along with a ring light or instead of?
@@lisaanglim9588 I used to use a ring light but I’ve replaced it with this! But I could use both at the same time as well

Oh honey that glass container was far too small to allow that plant to spread and grow 😭
It seems like there is too many roots for the plant.
Why don’t you just move the bottom strap up the pole. You won’t need to replace it at the bottom as it’s fully rooted in the moss.
I could totally do that and the moss would stay in place, but I find that causes the bottom of the pole to flare a bit which bugs me 😅
