Lineside at Winwick Junction in the 90s

Three miles to the north of Warrington Bank Quay on the West Coast Main Line lies Winwick Junction. This major junction is on a busy stretch of main line where the route diverges from the WCML through Earlestown and Newton Le Willows to Liverpool and Manchester. On a damp May morning in 1996, plenty of traffic was about and was captured on film here by our camerman.
