I had this as a b-side on some single, and always thought it was the stronger track. NEVER did I think they did a video for it, but yea, whoever posted..... THANK YOU!
This came up in conversation today. Used to go to the Silver Crown all the time, and yes we remember him being there. Listening to this, I hear a little Spoons influence...
Watching "This Time Tomorrow" again I note the mistake in the clapper slate. Says "Jan. 26, 1985". Typical New Year film crew typo. Wrong year. The camera assistant clapper / loader should have written "86" not "85". This music video was mostly shot on Sun. Jan. 26, 1986 after the stage was painted and dressed the previous day. "This Time Tomorrow" was shot on 16mm black and white negative. Film production was completed in the early morning hours of Mon. Jan. 27, 1986. The members of Breeding Ground helped clean up the sound stage, then returned the film equipment, music gear and props at dawn. Then, sleepless, went to their daytime jobs. Director Colin Strayer took the exposed film to the lab, drove home and woke up just in time to watch the Space Shuttle Challenger disintegrate as it launched on Tues. Jan. 28, 1986.
sterlingstreamliner Thank you for sharing. Always thought it was cool as my bday is Jan. 26. 1986 would make it when I turned 8 years old. I also sadly remember seeing the Space Shuttle Challenger tragedy in school a few days later. Part of me can't believe it's been almost 30 years ago. But very glad for the technology to be able to find such amazing songs and videos like this online.
+sterlingstreamliner Thank you for providing the correction. This video was very nicely directed by Mr. Colin Strayer. It documents a moment in time when Toronto was a hub for many great bands, a magical era in the city that a generation now remembers with more than a tinge of nostalgia.
You had a very unique look and sound, John. The timbre of your voice is one of a kind. You also had a theatrical flair, too. Did you ever do any acting?
We were 19 year olds from Willowdale, and not only were you the coolest guy ever, but you treated us with respect at the Crown. Hope the years have treated you well since..
Wow what memories this brings back… good times then.. free and wild…this band i was so into..I remember seeing them live at some church down town Toronto..was soooo cool.
A terrific song accompanied by a very nice music video. B&W. Classic. Every time I watch this I see another detail in the set dressing. I remember the premiere of this music video on Much Music. Members of Breeding Ground were interviewed by then vee-jay "J.D. Roberts", now John Roberts of CNN. One interesting note was that :This Time Tomorrow" was filmed on Jan. 28, 1986 with filming just completed hours before the Space Shuttle Challenger exploded. Great to see this video again.
I remember being at Lee's Palace for the release party for this video. I have the volume cranked and I'm singing every word just like it was yesterday. Thanks guys for some amazing tunes, many, many great live shows and a tonne of wonderful memories.
This incredible band that I loved growing up in the 80’s and I remember buying this album when I was 14 at Sam the record man, however over the years I’ve unfortunately lost it, I have been searching for this album on Apple Music and other music apps but can’t find it, so disappointing, anyone who knows where I can find it online to download would be so much appreciated

@@HHG_BREEDINGGROUND1 Happy Now I Know will always be top in my book, Hugh. ❤
I really liked this band. I remember dancing to some of their tunes at Nuts and Bolts in Toronto.
This band is one of the greatest indie bands to ever come out of Canada, never received the recognition that they surely deserved.
"Trench coat? Check. Hair gel? Check. Mullet? Check. Timeless song? Check. 80s? Check"
I had a ball singing Breeding Ground tunes for two and a half years....it really brought back great memories and John had such a unique voice.
What a great tune. THE 80'S were incredible.
The lead singer was a waiter in the mid-80's at a great Toronto bar, the Silver Crown. Anyone else recall that?
Yes, I remember going there one night and then being in total shock!
