Pitched my electronic rock track under styles of Alternative Rock, Synthwave/Retrowave, Industrial. Interesting that Hometown section did not have a not the capital but the second biggest city in Russian Federation :D This is my second pitch and it seems to always be a thrilling waiting :) Thanks for the video, Andrew.
Yeah it’s exciting haha. Super competitive though, so I try to never get my hopes up.
Thanks for the tips!!! 🔥🙏🏾🔥🙏🏾
Your amazing Andrew! Thank you
Thanks man! Really informative!
Thanks
Hair is perfect 🎧😁
Love you channel, thanks for all you do! How early do you submit your songs for playlist consideration?
Thanks! As early as possible. They recommend 4-6 weeks in advance but most of the time I’m only doing like 2.
Andrew can you help make my dreams come true thanks andrew!
I've heard that we should text just a couple words in the description, cause they don't read big sentences (I might be wrong tho)
I’ve pitched many of mine like this with full on descriptions and haven’t had one track be successful
Your hair is glorious
hahaha thank you!
If the song is in Spanish, should the pitch be in Spanish too? Or should it always be in English to not miss the opportunity ?
hazlo en ingles por q spotify es una compañía americana
This was helpful. But I have a question. How long does it have to be upcoming. For example, do I have to set the release date for the next 7 days or in the next day.
Ideally you'd pitch at least 7 days before release, or even better 14+ days.
What do you do for a genre not represented like Dark R&B
I'd just get as close as possible, and mention your sub-genre in your text pitch.
Yo hair be fine buddy
Can someone pitch tracks off an E.P for playlisting or you have to pitch the entire E.P once?
You can pitch 1 track per release. So if its a 5 song EP you have to choose 1 song.
How long do they usually check releases? 'Cause I'm waiting for 2 weeks.
They recommend to pitch 5-6 weeks ahead of time. Usually songs get added on release day or within a few weeks after release. 99% of songs get rejected so the competition is fierce.
My songs not in the upcoming section. It just showed up on here this morning and never even went into the to be released. Can I still pitch it? I use distrokid to upload to spotify
You can only pitch before a song is released. In the future you’ll want to schedule your songs to come out with more time for you pitch them.
should the pitch text be about 51 words or should it be 200 words? is it good to have it short
What about if it’s your first song release and you can’t access your Spotify artist account until Spotify publishes your first song? Do you have to wait until the song is released and then pitch to playlists? 🙏🏼
You can get access to Spotify for artists prior to release. I did a video on this channel showing how to do this last year. You also can’t pitch a song after it comes out.
@@AndrewSouthworth Hi! Oh thanks so much for this information, I didn’t know this. It’s very helpful to know. I will have a look for your video now. 🙏🏼🙏🏼
can I pitch music aleready released on spotify?
Does it have to be upcoming music? Or unreleased song or can it be songs that are out currently that never were pitched before?
Yeah it has to be upcoming unfortunately.
I never saw my song in the upcoming. After releasing it on DistroKid it was not on Spotify or in upcoming. Then one day it was on Spotify but never saw it in upcoming.
@@CaptureCat88 buy 35$ sus & pitch you'r Music on a certain date
Can you do this if you have the musician package with distrokid?
I don’t think so because you can’t schedule release days.
Hey bud...I sent a DM on reddit...did you get that ?
Are you for hire?
Why can't I pitch a song thats already released?
Its just how they do things at Spotify, I wish they let you pitch afterwards too. My guess is its probably to focus their efforts on new releases since they have the most hype typically, which in turn reduces how many releases they have in their queues.
@@AndrewSouthworth ok that makes sense thank you
But my song was never in upcoming. At what point should it be there?
Hey man. I didnt pitch my song when I released it then I removed it. Should I bother remastering to pitch it. I trust my song and dont want to wait no more. Would you say it would be a waste to not pitch it? Thanks.
This was pointless
How so?
