I just purchased one of these for my car one month ago. I love it so much, the SSB receive quieting is wonderful, that I just purchased another one for my home!! Had to have another!!
Why do people have issues with the cb frequencies?? There are more folk into radio on 27mhz than there are on 2m. 11m is a fantastic band when it’s open and don’t forget before during and after the 2nd world war it was a very popular amateur band! Lose the snobbery
2m granted its fairly under used most use hf 160-10m and some the 4 and 6 m bands, some of the hate towards cb is because of issues in the day that they caued to locals, and ham ops on 10m for myself their used to be a chap who lived next door who ran obsurd power on cb, splatterd all over the place causing interfeerence to tv's radios everything you can imagine, he was heard several times through the tv saying f***ing neigbours keep complaining about my cb, i dont give a fk and they can fk off ill do whatever i like untill ofcom and local council came an shut him down along with taking away all his kit, now i belive he is part of the reason why i caint have any antennas to enjoy my hobby that i enjoy personally i couldnt care less what people do on cb more power to u, a lot of them end up becomming amature radio operators for the aspect of learning and more freedom on bands ect, its a mixed bag the hate some have god complex both cb and amature radio and think their better than one another, but at the end of the day its all radio enjoy what you enjoy just be respecfull of those who you share the air with
I love the careful wording…Experiment somewhere outside the 10m band.😂 Really Fun radio though and 99% of these are coming into the country already expanded at the moment.
A frequency counter would be good, but wouldn't that spoil the retro look of the radio? You could always insert an external counter, I suppose. Or buy the SS6900 or AT5555...
@@dennis8196 there is a market for 4 meter transceivers, AnyTone already market a variety of 4 meter FM set's and there are radios like the ICOM IC-7100 and overs that have 4 meters onboard making SSB available on this band.
QUESTION.... can an EMP destroy this AnyTone digital type of CB radio ? I was told that an EMP cannot destroy the older style solid state CB radios such as the old Cobra 148GTL CB radios.
EM P will effect anything electronic whether digital or analog if concerned have a faraday container ready switch one radio for another off and on always placing unused in faraday cage ( something as simple as a covered metallic trash can best with pull down lid and pressure retention
Hi I've bought the anytone ares fm/am/pa radio and looking for software to download so I can program for full uk40 and mid band I have programming cable on its way... Is there any info/sites on the anytone ares fm/am radio regarding modding etc...

Great presentation

Excellent.
Great video, pity Anytone didn’t add a frequency counter like on the 3900EFT
@buddycarroll9641 I'm away mate but would be better if it had a frequency display 😉 👍

Yeah new feature which shows freq since this video came out
a classic looking radio the superstar 3900 is also just been released makes me wonder will the cobra 148 be re-released as well
@@timothybrown7792Grant XL II would be awesome, especially if they were brave enough to do the 10 meter trick for high power CB
PS...IT HAS A FREQ DISPLAY VIA THE CHANNEL DISPLAY.
Would be great if AnyTone could produce a mono band 4 meter multimode with up to 50w output.

There is the FM only Anytone AT-588, this is an excellent 4m transceiver. www.hamradio.co.uk/at-588
Quais os ponto pra se colocar um frequencimetro externo pode me dizer !!
I have an old 3900,im thinking about replacing with this unit, alot has changed that's for sure

Heard of lining .50 cal ammo cans with a few layers of tin foil to “emp proof” the electronics inside. Be about the perfect size for a CB.
