    Worked perfectly. I also left my bike driver side down in the sun for a while to let the grease move down the hub more, but as soon as I rode it around and the grease started to move around, it was an instant fix and it just went silent. Great howto man!

      Gone Racing right on! Glad it helped. Mine has been running good now for about a year with no noise.

    I don’t know why people don’t just smear the grease on with their finger it’s so easy just put your first finger out, dab of grease on it carefully go through the spokes with your finger and find the best angle and just put pressure on the hole and smear it in. You use a bit more grease that way but it’s so easy to just do it and then wipe it after with a paper towel. It’s honestly the easiest best way I’ve found just rotate the wheel between smearing the grease each time to continue spreading it. You don’t wanna fill that thing up with grease like it’s a tank or something. It’s lubrication not fuel. The syringe is a good idea but be careful how much you are putting in. You can turn your freecoaster into a grease pool ! Some people will just keep going and going thinking it’s not getting in there but trust me it is

    If I am not mistaken. The sound comes from the disengagement of the cone sticking in the shell. It happens more often if the hub is still new. But eventually it wears the cone a little not to make the popping sound due to pressure from engagement to disengagement.

      Rizal Linao it actually happens after the hub is fully engaged and already pedaling forward. It got worse over time not better. But I fixed it. Doesn't do it anymore.

      Rizal Linao Thanks man! After 7 months, it's still working perfect. It's a great hub. Though, I hated the popping.

    I found chain lube works well too.

    Dude what size spokes do you need for your rear wheel ? Are the spokes the same in both side drive side non drive side🤔

    • @lotlifebmx8370
      @lotlifebmx8370  6 років тому

      john cole drive side should be shorter than non drive side as the hub flange is taller on the drive side. Not sure on what size though. Contact odyssey for the correct spoke lengths.

    What seat is that, man? It looks pretty narrow like some of the Odyssey seats. I like it.

    • @lotlifebmx8370
      @lotlifebmx8370  6 років тому

      J Sane that's a primo mid seat. A little bit fatter than the slims. I've had it for awhile, it's perfect. Not too big but just enough padding to actually sit on it if needed. Thanks for watching!

    Is that how you grease it? Or do you still have to take it apart to put grease where the clutch engages?

    • @lotlifebmx8370
      @lotlifebmx8370  6 років тому +2

      Pupstar that's how you grease it. No need to take it apart unless it's really jacked. Then you might need some replacement parts in there. There are some plastic parts in there but they are very strong and work very well when greased properly.

    Is yours v1 or v2? also, is it a stickyness when engaging? like a loud click, and you can almost feel a bit of a jump when you disengage it to coast? Ive noticed this lots with mine and its only a few months old

    • @lotlifebmx8370
      @lotlifebmx8370  6 років тому +1

      bmxcycles the one on this video is a v1. I have both v1 and v2, the internals are basically the same and should be greased the same. The sound your describing sounds like the problem I was having. To me, and this just my opinion not having seen or heard yours you seem to have the same problem. In my opinion, sounds like it needs more grease in there. Mine was also a couple months old when it happened but since greasing it, it has been running perfect for almost a year now. Good luck! Hope this helps.

      lotlifebmx perfect thanks man! I was at a loss for a bit hahah, wasnt looking forward to another $300 gone, specially after hearing about the Clutch being next to bullet proof as far as coasters go.

      I was too. It freaked me out when the noise started but after fixing it, it has been perfect. Very good/solid hub. Probably the best deal out there right now.

      lotlifebmx id have to agree, ironically enough it stopped mostly last night, so i thought wtf.. emailed them, and theres a break in period for most coasters, so that combined with dry clutch was clicking like crazy and sometimes sticking and being a fixie almost.
      Seems good now though and still haven't greased it yet hahah

    Own a odyssey v2 clutch is it normal to have a lil play on the spoke? Check all my nipples some were just a lil loose so I tighten them a lil

    • @lotlifebmx8370
      @lotlifebmx8370  6 років тому

      Benny Lara spokes should be tight. Go around the wheel and tighten each spokes nipple a quarter turn. Might want to have a shop do it if not familiar with truing wheels. Hope that helps. Have a good one!

    Did you use finish line ceramic grease?

    • @lotlifebmx8370
      @lotlifebmx8370  6 років тому

      Benny Lara I used the finish line Teflon grease but the ceramic grease should work just as good if not better.

    Hey bro, I’ve been trying to get my axle out of my coaster for awhile, and it seem like it doesn’t want to come out ( especially the bearing on the drive side) you got any suggestion? Thanks man! It’s a colony coaster.

    • @lotlifebmx8370
      @lotlifebmx8370  6 років тому

      Kenneth Precioso you have to tap it out with a hammer. Be very carefully. There is a video on it I believe at the Odyssey website and here on UA-cam somewhere. I did it about a year ago while watching that video. Good luck bro!

    What size spokes did you use for the hub

    • @lotlifebmx8370
      @lotlifebmx8370  5 років тому

      Clutch hub and hazard lite rim take 183mm spokes on the drive side, 185mm on the non drive side.
