Your explanation of “how” to cut those miters, grooves, and rabbets is exactly what I have been looking for and what most other videos lack. Appreciate the time and effort to explain these in detail.
I appreciate the feedback and leaving a comment! I need to get back to making videos!
Nice! Looks great! I was stationed at Makalapa in the late 1990s and volunteered hours helping restore the USS Missouri. I have a teak deck plug. I’m retired USAF.
That's awesome! It's a great place to visit, you "feel" the significance, sacrifice and history when you stand over the surrender deck.
Nice build. Love the car!!!!
Thanks!
One day, I'll make one.. thanks to your video, i now have an idea on how to do that! Really detailed video! I love it!
James, your the man! Thank you for the support.
1st comment too!
I had planned on making the exact same one with the flag on the bottom center. Thank you for a great video
Absolutely! Thanks for watching.
To make CA glue set faster put the glue on one side and spray a little isopropyl alcohol on the other. Sets in a few seconds.
Great tip I'll give it a shot
Awesome box! How does the back stay on?
Thanks! Small nails spaced every 6" or so and on each corner. Or you can use small screws but you must drill pilot holes while being careful to drill straight otherwise you'll come out of the side.
For the Coast Guard flag in the lower right hand corner, what flag are you using, and are you folding it like a USA flag, or do you have to get creative to get the CG emblem centered on the triangle? Thanks, great and helpful video.
I had to get creative to get the CG emblem to look the way it did. Basically I cut out a piece of cardboard into a triangle and folded it with the emblem on the front and did what I could behind it. Thanks for checking it out!
Great video thanks. Why not use a miter saw to cut the bevels?
The miters come out a lot better for me on the table saw. My miter saw has too much deflection when making precision cuts.
Thanks for the answer. I was wondering the same thing. @@rusticanchorwoodworks693
Was that a Roman ogee router bit you used? If so, what size?
Yes roman ogee, 5/32" good eye!
