As an older woman that people forget. That feels her mortality upon her and the fears of dementia every time I forget something. That is dismissed and thought a silly old woman. I never expect to feel seen by a Marvel show.
This is never talked about because women aging is taboo. It doesn’t feed mens sexual desires to talk about how it feels to age as a woman in a society basing our worth on our beauty/youth. Men are never held to such a time limit even though the men usually die first . Probably all the red meat and anger
I cried so much during this episode. In the end Lilia finally put the gaps throughout her life in place ended up loving her second coven and was content with her end knowing she saved them while reliving her life again without the gaps. 😭😭😭😭
It was a cinematic masterpiece. It just goes to show that not everything needs to be pumped with CGI and hugh budget. Agatha All Along has the lowest budget of any MCU show and uses mainly practical effects, yet it’s proving to be one of their best projects ever. Jac Schaeffer is an amazing writer and they really should include her in more projects.
Billy DID see Rio before they went on the road. He just didn't see her in her FBI agent disguise (because that was probably happening in Agatha's head.) But he definitely saw her when she busted down the front door to Agatha's house and had a knife fight with her. He watched that whole fight happen from where he was tied up in the closet. He even mentions it after they summon her to the Witches' Road- "The scary but charismatic lady is back."
11:34 it just occurred to me that when Lilia told her maestra about their coven being wiped out by a fever, that would’ve been the first time Maestra would’ve heard about it. She reacted quite calmly, all things considered.
Thank you for being one of the few reactors who didn’t seem to have a negative reaction when William/Billy said that he had a mom. The kid just found out a few days ago who he might be that Wanda may be his mother. Rebecca Kaplan has been his mom for the last three years.
@22:10, I think Rio's appearance when Lilia and Jen fell down from the bog was just her lurking. In this Witches' Road as Agatha had said, she is a tourist - a lurker who waits until she has her bodies. Also, Lilia has always been very connected to Death. Her divination powers allow her to see tragedies and death - her coven, the villages she passed through and hated her, William Kaplan. She and Death had always had a connection that she didn't fully accept until that moment when her consciousness went back to that time and she saw that Death had always been lurking around her, especially now that she is close to the end.
I interpreted it that Lilia flashed to her first lesson while falling, then in her final moment, flashed back to falling. And when she encounters Rio, _that_ was when she died, and Rio took her soul to the afterlife.
Unbelievable WHAT the production of this series did, Jac Schaeffer and the entire production did all this with so little, they deserve at least an award 💜
Sorry, I do not want to be one that argues on the internet, but, I must correct your statement: Patii LuPone is impeccable and exceptional (at all times). lol
Rio only collect bodies. She is not supposed to kill, however all these witches should have been dead long time ago and they somehow cheated death and now she is just collecting what is owned. And in the end, the theory, is that Agatha may sacrifice herself to bring back everyone : 1 - Ally should have been dead long ago by the curse, 2 - Lilia escaped death when all her coven died the first time - and this is probably the first time she was in contact with Death and that's why Rio asked her if she doesnt recognise her, 3 - Billy took over a dead body obvisouly cheating Death too - like Agatha says to him "and so why you cheated?" 4 - Jen , I have no idea yet. Hope to know next episode. And I think what you mean about what this episode reminds you of is an episode from The Haunting of Bly Manor from Mike Flanagan.
Showrunner Jac Schaeffer has confirmed that the deaths on the show are, indeed, permanent. As she told Variety: "Death is immutable. It is permanent. With this show, we wanted to pay respect to that. So this a more earnest and grave conversation about death than maybe you would find in another superhero project."
@@seantodd8875 But this overlooks the fact that Rio, Death herself, confirms Lilia's demise in episode eight. But again, time is an illusion and if you want to have this perspective, that's fine.
@@seantodd8875she technically is dead tho. Shes only living her life without all the gaps she previously experienced. She IS still going to die, she just gets to live through everything with clarity now.
So lilias consciousness slips around to different points of her life and at the end it looks like her consciousness slips back to her younger self and she can live her life in sequence. Like the road fixed her
So the way I choose to believe: she had challenges through her life because all she was experiencing were the hard, the painful, and the challenging. She was so jaded and scared because she never experienced all the joyful moments of her life. Now that she's experienced the end....she only has all of the good memories of her childhood she MISSED to look forward to.
They did possibly leave an out for Lilia. Remember when she found Billy's spell book? She pocketed it without telling Jen and seemed to be thinking about something. They then made a point of showing her giving it to Billy but only after she had decided to sacrifice herself. Perhaps AAA truly means for her to stay dead, but that feels like a detail intentionally left for a future show to use if it wanted to.
Every episode just gets better and better. I have high hopes for the next two episodes so I really hope it sticks the landing. This show has exceeded all my expectations.
Lillia saw Jen being the path forward. I'm completely conviced that means Jen will survive the series. Another thing is if she will complete the Road or if she will scape it (after all, we know she knows the subway is out there, waiting to be used to scape the Road... and at this point in time, she's the only living coven member who knows that exit exists). Also, about Jen... I'm really curious about what will be going on with her the next 2 episodes. We've seen how little by little she's been less selfish but the change has been obvious this last episode when she's finally let her guard down and bonded with her former frenemy Lillia. With Lillia's death she's left with no people to trust in the group. She doesn't trust Agatha, better not talk about Rio... and Billy I belive is at best in a grey zone for her: probably seeing Lillia forgiving him for almost killing them both is a plus, but she won't put aside that he's the Scarlet Witch's son. This episode is arguably the best standalone episode ever in a MCU series until this moment: great cinematography, script and acting (Patti Lupone in particular has given her all). Lillia was already my favourite character in the series, and this episode has done her justice. Her ending was bittersweet and perfect for her. I will miss her (as i miss Alice and Mrs Hart), but bringing any of them back, particularly Lillia, will cheapen this episode. I'm sure they won't make that mistake. Also, isn't it as great as it's unusual when a single episode achieves at the same time in pushing up the value of a character *and* the rewatchabilty of the whole series?
They havent disapointed me with this show yet and this episode was great. This show needed to be good given how hesitant "fans" are to even entertain storys outside of the same recycled ones weve been getting with fan favorites. Exploring a side of marvel with new characters and a relatively new premise of magick/witchcraft needed to be a hit or marvel would just float back to the old reliables and we wouldnt see anything new for years. With how good this show has been i hope it opens the door for them to explore this side of marvel. Im hioing this finale introduces something somehwat big that we would need to touch back on kinda like in wandavision leading into doctor strange. We have heard mention of mephisto and Death has entered the chat so i have high hopes these last 2 episodes will blow the socks off of the mcu. With how great this episode was and how good the others have been i cant wait to see how this story ends
Did you consider, that the structure of of the whole series follows the structure of the tarot reading? It's not just Lilia's journey that is shuffled through the episodes, but the nature of the show itself. Even more meta if it does turn out that the Road itself is just a myth that Agatha created to feed off other witches and send the bodies to Death / Rio, and Billy unknowingly manifested it entirely through his version of Wanda power's reality shaping power 👣
I guess the show runner has said " not to expect any major cameos or revelations in the series". If true I'd say that leaves out Wanda or Vision. We might get Tommy's location but probably not Tommy in person. I think episode 8 will be Agatha's back story about her and what exactly happened to her son. Then 9 will be Agatha & Billy fighting Death.
Rio didn’t take her when she revealed herself because She merely Lilia back in Sicily when she took her coven and it was more of a “you know you won’t survive the trial” moment for Lilia than a soul claiming moment
There's still ONE blank tile in the end credits when the actors names start..there were two, but Evan Peters claimed the first one the other week.. meaning we have a major character yet to be revealed!! Who do you think it is?? Wanda? Myphisto? Tommy? Vision? Someone else???

Exactly. But Rio knew that Lillia's time was almost up... was literally coming to get her. And at that point I guess she didn't give a f*ck about her secret coming out.
