Hi Nadine! I dropped into this episode because I just bought the Hinterland pattern with the intentions of making a cotton summer and flannel winter version. I just moved from Quebec back to Ottawa, Ontario so I had a chuckle when I heard that you had lived in Montreal. You have travelled a long way from home. Your business and crafting life sounds so interesting. I really enjoyed this episode and subscribed so that I can catch your future uploads. Best wishes from Margaret (of My Wonderful Knitting Life channel).

@@mywonderfulknittinglife Beat of luck with your Hinterland dresses, they are the BEST! Yes I grew up in Montreal, lived in Toronto for a few years when I was a Flight Attendant, back to Montreal and now wayyyyyyyy over here in Oz! I love Ottawa, I will have to check out your Channel ❤️

Hello Nadine I am watching from Minnesota USA. Your cardigan is lovely I know how you feel about yarn choices I’ve made choices I have regrets about but it is ever evolving in me. I’m retired. I try to knit everyday. Lately life has gotten in the way. Your Hinterland dress is great in the denim fabric. I would like to sew clothing again for myself. I’m out of practice. When I use the Italian cast on I always work at least one row before joining in the round sometimes more. Then I use the tail to close that gap while I weave that end and make that joining stitch look good.

@@sallyidso182 That is great advice for the Italian Cast On, I actually did an extra row on my second attempt recently and it worked great! Thank you so much for watching ❤️

Hi Nadine. You popped up in my feed. So glad you did. Your jacket/cardigan is lovely. I am interested in sewing a hinterland dress. I will have to add it to my vast to do list.
    My name is also Nadine.
Thank you for a lovely 1/2 hour.

I have a Cowichan sweater coat !!! Mine has orcas ❤️ I’m in Seattle so practically in the neighborhood. A friend was volunteering at a community coat drive and it was donated but it wasn’t looking it’s best . She recognized it has hand knit and saved it from the goodwill bin to see if we could find a better home . We gave it a good clean and a shave and it’s back on track . The makers tag in it tells who the knitter is .

So nice to hear someone local talk about their makes. If you're in Murwillumbah again over the next few days - a friend and I are having an exhibition of our weaving at the Small Works Gallery in Commercial Rd. The opening is tonight (Friday 4-7pm, Karen is coming) and we are there until next Thursday. It would be lovely to meet you in person.

So glad you popped up on my feed. The cardigan is lovely. I’m looking for a cardigan/jacket pattern to make with the Nutiden I just bought, but was hoping to use only one strand. Or should I bite the bullet and buy a cone of Jamieson & Smith 4 ply to hold it with. Happy creating 💚🧶💚

Hi! I'm a new subscriber after YT suggested your video to me. I was delighted to see that you are a Canadian living down under. I'm a Canadian who grew up in NZ:) Would you recommend the yarn from Custom Woolen mills? It does seem like it pills quite a bit. Years ago I used to order roving from CWM for Waldorf dolls. I had forgotten they existed! I do see that a Canadian store sells Plötulopi wool. I'm interested in dipping my toes into unspun yarn knitting:)

@@flaxandfibrefarmhouse hello! I have not used their yarns, only the unspun. If you try it I would LOVE to hear how you go. I also used to make Waldorf dolls! I would also love to hear how you go with Plötulopi ❤️

@@handcraftswithnadine sorry, I meant the unspun, not their yarn:) That's neat that you also used to make Waldorf dolls! My older girls are around the age of your girls. I remember diy Waldorf dolls were a big thing back in the days of the crafting blogs (Soulemama, etc!)

@@flaxandfibrefarmhouse I had an Etsy shop called Wooly Roo Dolls for a few years. Yes, my November Jacket is pulling like crazy, but maybe if you used the 6 strands together it would be better.
