Hey, thanks for the information in the video, however I have two more questions: 1. How often do I need to replace the AquaClean Water Filter? 2. I have bought the grease, and tablets, what about the CA6700/99 Decalcifier, do I also need to buy this for my machine, and how would I use it?
Hi, thanks for your comment. The AquaClean Water Filter for your 5400 LatteGo should be replaced when requested by the machine, which is typically after 8 filter replacements or up to 5000 cups. This ensures that you won't have to descale your machine for up to 5000 cups and enjoy up to 625 cups per filter. Regarding the CA6700/99 Decalcifier, it is recommended to use it as part of your machine's regular maintenance. To use the decalcifier, you should follow the instructions provided by your machine's display prompts. Generally, you’ll need to empty the water tank, add the decalcifier with water up to the Calc/Clean indication, and then run the descaling program as directed by your machine. It's important to use our descaler to prevent damage to your machine and ensure optimal performance. Remember to not interrupt the descaling process once started and to follow the user manual for detailed instructions specific to your model. If you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our customer service team through one of our Social Media channels, or the support page on our website.
@Philips Hello, How often do I change water filter ? And how many times I have to change water filter before I want to descale coffee machine ? And how often do I use oil removal tablets ?
This is answered in the manual. Water filter will be notified in the machine depending on usage. I have changed it 2 times during the last year. Oil removal tablets are recommended once per month.
Hello! I wanted to ask - what's the best way to actually remove the grease from different places on the brew unit before applying a new layer of dedicated grease? I bought the 5400 LatteGo 3 weeks ago and I'm getting into the maintenance part now. Rinsing it is quite clear for me and the process removes the coffee residue but the brew group itself is very greasy and the residue gets stuck to it. Like, it's greasy even in places that are not shown in the video. I understand I should not be using any soap or even a mild detergent on the thing but is there any other option to remove the excess grease before applying new one? The machine is great but I think it's becoming suspiciously louder when brewing coffee (I reinstalled the Aquaclean filter to make sure there's no air trapped inside). Can you help me? Btw the music in this video is ingenious, so calming! You should release a full version of it :)
Hi Leana, thanks for your question! No worries, we'll try our best to help. We recommend taking out the brew group from the coffee machine and rinsing it under tap water. You can then clean the greasy areas by applying a bit of pressure with a damp cloth. Usually, this should do the trick. Should you need more help, feel free to send us a video of the greasy areas on Twitter(@PhilipsCare) or Facebook(@Philips). We can then look into this further. Let us know! P.S. We appreciate your feedback on our music, and we congratulate you on your great taste! 😅
@@Philips Wowie, thanks for a quick answer! I removed a little bit of the grease using this method earlier on the bigger surfaces - I didn't want to do that anywhere near any mechanisms since I'm not sure whether it's a good idea or not. I'll send you a video/some photos on your Facebook within next few days, hope you can help me with that. Don't want anything bad to happen to it. P.S. Oh but I do have a great taste! :D That's why I bought 5400 :) But honestly, this music fits the atmosphere of enjoying a delicious latte in the late afternoon perfectly ;)
I also opened it today for the first time to clean the coffee module (2 months later, but haven't used it as much, so it's okay I hope) and it was quite greasy on the side where you had to hold the push button. I don't really want to remove that, but I was curious too if it was too much. Seems like it's okay to not touch it? I agree with the music, very relaxing. :)
Hi, Xauler. Thank you for reaching out. We'd be happy to take a closer look at how we could help you here. Could you share a picture of the part you're referring to? Awaiting your reply!
Hello, I just washed the brewing group and left it out to dry for almost a whole day, however there's still some drops pf water here and there. I would like to drink another coffee although not sure if I can put it back before it gets 100% dry. Thank you for the help! :)
Hi, thanks for your comment. It’s great to hear that you’re taking good care of your 5400 LatteGo. It’s perfectly fine to put the brewing group back into the machine even if there are a few drops of water left. The remaining moisture won’t affect the performance of your coffee machine or the quality of your coffee. Just make sure that the brewing group is mostly dry and free of any large amounts of water. Enjoy your coffee, and if you have any other questions or need further assistance, feel free to ask! 😊☕️
@@Philips I do have another question if you could help, I've put back the brewing group, didn't really hear any clicks and it seems to be loose ever so slightly. I tried taking it out again, but could only when squeezing as normal. Soo all in all is it normal for the brewing group to not be 100% fixated into the mashine? Thanks again!! ❤️
Thanks for getting back to us. It’s important that the brewing group is properly secured to ensure optimal performance. Normally, you should hear a click when the brewing group is correctly placed. If it feels loose, it might not be fully locked into position. Here are a few steps you can try: 1. Take out the brewing group and reinsert it, making sure to push it firmly until you hear a click. 2. Ensure there are no coffee grounds or other obstructions preventing it from locking in place. 3. Refer to the user manual for detailed instructions on how to properly insert the brewing group. If the issue persists, it might be best to contact our customer service team for further assistance. You can reach out to our team through one of our Social Media channels or the support page on our website. Our team will be happy to assist you further!
I have a question not with regards to cleaning the machine! However, it’s if you could use almond milk or only regular milk in the container to froth milk? Also, if I use ground coffee I the little container instead of beans will this mess up my machine?
Hi there, thanks for your interest in the 5400 Series LatteGo espresso machine! You can also use almond milk. The device has a special compartment for pre-ground coffee. Only put pre-ground coffee in the pre-ground coffee compartment and only put coffee beans in the bean hopper. If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to ask. Wishing you a good week!
Hi, thanks for your comment. Regarding the maintenance of your 5400 LatteGo, it’s recommended to lubricate the brew group every two months to ensure that the mechanical parts continue to move smoothly. You should apply a thin layer of grease on the piston of the brew group, around the shaft located at the bottom of the brew group, and to the rails on both sides. This regular maintenance helps in preserving the optimal performance of your espresso machine and ensures the longevity of its parts. For detailed instructions, you may refer to the user manual or our official Philips support resources, which you’ll be able to find on our website. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact our customer service team. We’re happy to assist you!
How often should grease be applied to the brew unit? Should it be done monthly or every other month? The brew unit seems to indicate that it should be done after it makes 500 drinks. Which one should I follow?
Hi Brian, thank you for your question. To improve your machine's performance, we suggest that you lubricate the brew group every 2 months, to ensure that the moving parts continue to move smoothly. We hope this helps. Feel free to reach out again! 🌷
