  • HI Guys,
4 Teens go camping in a remote forest of North Carolina in the 1980's. There while sitting around the campfire they hear a loud rock splash in the river. From this point the camp trip turns into a night of terror as they try and escape out of the forest.

Well I had to laugh when I saw the lead in shot, knew it wasn't north Carolina. LoL. But I do love a very dark beer. I'm Eastern Band Cherokee ( Cherokee NC. Smokey mountain) and yep we have some places that most folks shouldn't want to go. LoL
Unless the place likes you. No lie, don't go where you're not wanted. Just a normal thing most from here know.
As kids that is just something you're taught, give respect to the things of the Forrest,(and if you happen to invade their place) always make an apology. Only the right thing to do.
    And all will be well.
Just a bit of info from an enrolled Eastern Band Cherokee of NC.
Most of us ( I'm a female) know you never make a camp at the river, because the things who come to the river, will come to the river. Always set your camp off from the river Hate to say it, but don't go where you're not wanted.. just respect for the Forrest beings. They live there too. Just remember if you go into their place. You're the invader

I just wanted to say thank you for making this channel. After finding your channel when I was sick, I start walking alot more than usual and am up to about 25 miles a week. I'm training for a short backpacking trip for my dads memorial in two weeks. He used to take us out in nature to camp, hike, swim, etc, every chance he had and I never really ventured out on my own as an adult, so I know he'd want me to get out there. Thanks to you, I realized all this and finally started training. So thank you!

Great storytelling and a beautiful backdrop. I camped in North Carolina a few times when I lived in GA and never had any creepy experiences. But my dad and brother took the dog on one occasion. The dog ran off but then came rushing back to my dad and brother’s campsite minutes later, apparently spooked out of his wits. He didn’t leave my dad and brother’s side from that moment on. I always wondered what he saw.

I’ll tell ya the sound I would now find terrifying…no sound at all. Most every Sasquatch encounter has that same detail…the forest goes completely dead silent, no birds chirping, even the wind stops, no wind rustling the trees, nothing. That just eerie. It also makes me lean towards the theory that Sasquatch are multidimensional beings. Because of that and because of the fact that nobody has ever come across any of their remains, no skeletons or nothing.

I live in Minnesota. They’re here and also Wisconsin. Michigan and Ohio have huge sightings of these more so than Minnesota and Wisconsin. Iowa is a very flat state with the exception of the north/east part of the state and they are seen close to a bigger city DesMoines along the river there. So they get very close to towns. And a lot of Iowa is open fields for planting crops. Not huge areas of trees. So Not just mountain areas have Sasquatch. Have a great 4th.

Do you know where Cherohala skyway is ? Between Robbinsville NC and Tellico plains TN. It’s a 53 mi travel up and over a number of Mountains. With elevations reaching 5000 ft approximately. I have camped out in many places along the 2 lane route. There was this one time camping near the top . It was mid summer. Me and a girlfriend was in my camper . We had decided to watch a movie . Which meant running of the generator. We did that for the full movie say 90 minutes. It wasn’t 5 or 10 minutes after cutting the generator off . This extremely powerful Sound of scream /growl. I grew up in the outdoors . This was not any type of big cat or Wolf, No type of bird . And it was not possible for a human to make this sound . I kept playing it back in my mind . Knowing it was not possible for anything we know of to make that sound . It was about 10:30 pm . No one else around. From my estimation in sound distancing. It would have been 30 yards from the camper . The sound was in a sequence of 2 . Then nothing. Needless to say . We were terrified. And I had a 40 caliber with me . We took that as a warning. We left quickly. I had to go out of the camper to disconnect the wire between the generator and camper . Get that stuff together. Settle things inside camper for travel . And we were gone in 10 minutes or less . I do believe in Sasquatch.

But what about Ben? 😅🤣😂 It's just perfect!!!... Although, "But what about Bob?" was the best movie!!! 😊 ... Thanks for a great video!!! We even got to walk back with you!!! .... I think that in some cases, it's not so much that people don't believe you, 🤔 it's more that they don't want to know something like that even exists... it doesn't fit with their version of reality... so they go into denial. People are complicated 😕... they don't always say what they really think!!! .... I was so happy to find the new upload!!!... It's so nice to hear open minded people sharing experiences!!! 😌... My parents believed that a North American Great Ape was definitely not beyond the realm of possibility!!! They did lots of traveling to the National Parks in the 1950's.... they loved camping... so I'm sure they saw something!!! 🤔.... 😊❤ ...Which explains why they didn't take vacations like that after I was born.... it wasn't safe!!!

It's crazy to think that in these situations, out of all the ways a person can respond, throwing a rock back is the worst option... In all the stories I've heard, throwing a rock back is more of a challenge to them than firing off a round...

Love your content and the stories you tell I’m from the mountains of NC a also known as the blue ridge mountains ⛰️ part of the Appalachian range.
And let me tell you we’ve got history of high strangeness and things that go bump in the night I’m a believer I’ve hike and hunted in the southeast it’s vast thick country it is t open like out west and the vegetation is more like a jungle than a forest…anything could be out there.

Back in about 2001 we were buying a 22 acre plot along a river and it adjoins a protected wetlands area. We were hiking about checking out the land, just having a nice time when out of the blue there was the loudest SPLASH and it startled me. My husband laughed and said it was most likely a beaver tail warning. Didn't really even think about a hairy man back then.

Wouldn't that be something if the boys slept in the parking lot after this experience and someone tapped on the window dressed like the Twinkie man asking them if they want a free twinkie? Id say we just went through hell that's not funny, sure give us a bunch of them. All joking aside I believe the guy because its similar to other experiences, great experience wished i had it .
