Glad we could chat, Chris. Video turned out great. Thanks for hearing my story. I'm glad to see others enjoyed hearing about my experience. And no, I'm not planning to go back and poke around. Once was enough for that type of experience.
That must have been utterly terrifying! What a story! Do you still have the dent? 😅
OMGosh so scary. My husbands boss had an attack on his vehicle by a Sasquatch in N California while on a 4x camping trip. My husband never believed in them until he heard his story.
Thanks again for sharing your story Emily! Keep Hiking! Chris
Nope, was a work car. If it had been my own car prob would still be there.
I moved on to my next patient, who was closer to town.
Wow Chris , Very interesting story..! I'm Tonchy S. wife and thx. for talking yesterday with him. We follow you and we love your stories about Bigfoot . Best regrads from Alberta. ✌🍷💕👌
Oh yeah! Having a bad time and then my base camp Champ puts out another video!! Alright! 😊
Great!
Seriously! I look forward to his Sunday videos anymore
🤜🤛
Awesome - Thanks Mr M - Keep Hiking! C🌞
Hope your time improved. I know his video helped.
Thank you Nurse Emily for taking care of your patients and defending yourself to get home safe! I love that your reaction was to shame the beast for picking on a nurse!! I love it. Nurses are super heroes who go the extra mile for their patients. It will think twice before messing with you again. So glad you didn't get stranded and got home safe.
Ñì
I want to hear what she said to the body shop guys when she took her car in.
agreed, these things seem like adolescent pranks often. makes me wonder what these things are doing this for
I love the wilderness. I'm blessed to live in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. The rainforests here are stunning. 😍 but I don't feel safe to explore by myself. So many crazies, so much evil...but it's just so beautiful. Rivers, creeks, waterfalls...wildlife, and amazing trees, ferns...just gorgeous. We're truly blessed. I live in the city, but it takes mere minutes to get out of the urban areas and into...God's house. 🌹
I just discovered your channel, and you have a gift for story telling. Awesome! 😏🥰👍🏽
Thanks Miapdx! c
You squeezed so much into 31 minutes, a cool campground, a delicious looking meal, and a frightening story. She has every detail in her memory. Keep up the fantastic work, Chris! So close to 100k subscribers!
Some of those exterior shots creep me out, like there's a Sasquatch looking into your tent like in the horror movies.
I wish I might be loose to do the things like what you do. I am 68 years old and I have COPD and emphysema. I'm battling with oxygen hunger. So I watch youtube videos of people trekking and tenting and having fun and enjoying life. Kinda helps me feel I'm chilling with you all. I Sub and want to say hello from Texas USA. live safe
I can't believe you haven't yet reached 100K subscribers, you are such a straightforward and descriptive storyteller. As you said to Emily, hearing the phone conversation reinforces the story too. I don't blame Emily for staying out of remote forests nowadays.
I was just thinking the same thing. He’s so close though! Recommend to a friend
Once bitten, Chris. So pleased she is safe and can tell us the tale. Ste steam could have been from rain water splashing on the manifold exhaust and getting sucked in through the heater.
Agreed. Great story telling.
That's how I felt about another YTer and about a year later, that channel is over 1mn. I believe in Chris and he'll get to 100k. Keep hitting the like button.
I'm not associated with Base Camp Chris, just a fan.

I totally love and appreciate these longer videos! What a treat to a good Mother's Day! Love all of your videos Chris! Oh and happy Mother's Day to your mother. 🙏🏼💛💐
Thank you so much Sonny! Appreciate it! C❤
Thank you for the nice Mother’s Day wish. Chris’ mom
I’ve been binge watching your older videos and I have to say I love your enthusiasm. It’s nice to have a passion in life. I love the outdoors but due to arthritis I can’t walk as much as I use to. So I enjoy watching you hike, cook, and the scenery is stellar and so are your stories.
Lay off the tomatoes and deadly nightshade family..........Bless..............
Wow Chris! Another amazing location! I live in rural Gloucestershire UK where the scenery is also lovely, but much more gentle, rolling hills and green fields grazed by sheep. Nothing so majestic as the scenery I get to share with you from the comfort of my armchair!😂 Thanks for sharing with us all, it's greatly appreciated.
Thank you Sue! Chris🐻
Scary story indeed! Thanks Emily for sharing your story with Chris and us.
You're welcome
Chris, I love that you've now included the person's actual audio of their firsthand experiences!!
Great video Chris! I really like when you cook and inject in the conversation from the phone call from your story teller. Its a good mix. I couldn't make to 9:00 pm on Sunday but I woke up Monday morning knowing I had a treat for later that night! I love Grover Hot Springs and the entire Markleeville/Woodfords area. Just amazing country. Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers in your life. Keep Hiking (and story telling, and cooking, and back packing and fly fishing.....)!!
Good to hear! Thanks C
Chris is NEVER boring, but in this one he had me constantly on edge with anxiety. First, the out shots of his camper in the dark (me hoping nothing sneaks up on him), then as he's interviewing the nurse, I kept watching to make sure he didn't cut himself! But ya know, I never knew (and only Chris could pull this off), that chopping potatoes could be so interestingly captivating! 🤣 Good story by the way! 👍
FANTASTIC 😮Storytelling, delivery and location set - POP-Up Basecamp Studio - creative - Thanks for filming and sharing in the Grove 🙏🎁⛺️👍
Awesome! Very Welcome ! C
Hi Chris, what a great story! Truly spooky. Emily is used to living in the mountains and most likely didn't think anything of it by getting out of the car and thinking to go into the woods to investigate . I'm glad she didn't. I would have put the metal to the petal getting out of there! Lol. I just love all these fascinating stories. Thank you so much for sharing. I look forward to viewing your channel. Stay safe out there!❤
Chris, the sound of the Coleman lantern alone evokes fond memories. Even the smell of the Coleman fuel burning brings back so many camp memories!
I was very disappointed earlier when I couldn't find a new story from you. Decided to check one more time before I turn the light off. What a relief! Good story. Glad she made it out of there unscathed!
Yes - I was enjoying Mothers Day with Jeannette...late upload. Thanks! c🐻
Hi Chris ..amazing stories , we love and waiting new stories.! Interesting Camper- trailer.! Keep going we are same huge fun of Camping , best regards from AB. Canada. 👌 💕🍷🍹🌿🍁🤙
Awesome! Another Chris story, must be Sunday. Lol!
Hey, Emily, great telling of your encounter with Chris. You shouldn't apologize for not wanting to explore woods after encounter. Because men run, drive off, as fast as they can. They're carrying guns too. 😂 I've read hundreds of encounters. You're brave.
I’m an old war horse home nurse from Minnesota. I’ve driven in some god-awful weather conditions, and along some long stretches of very lonesome country. Not as remote as this nurse did, but close considering the brutal winters in the area. I would have driven back to the clients home as a precaution to having a break down 20 miles out.
She definitely experienced a warning, but of what kind? I remember scaring off a raccoon with water from my garden hose at the first house I owned, only because it had taken a serious interest in my cat; but I didn't want to hurt it. I was only protecting my cat.
Perhaps there was more going on then that nurse was aware.
Happy Mother's Day to Your Mom Chris 😊.
Okay, that would be creepy to be out in the middle of nowhere All by yourself and have a Sasquatch throw something at your vehicle. I would get back in my vehicle and get the heck out of there..
She was One Brave Woman!!!
Keep telling Us your Stories, Chris!!
Thnx again from scotland for another great story chris, love your videos
Glad you like them!
Great story Chris! I've read so many stories about Sasquatch throwing rocks or branches at people. Yet I've never once heard of anyone ever getting hit by one. They must be deadly accurate in throwing objects and are just trying to get us stupid humans out of their area. Makes me curious if they use throwing as a hunting skill?
Appreciate your comment...I agree. C
There are lots of really weird stories coming out of the mountains. I heard that the forest around the area where the Sierra Sounds was recorded burned up in a massive fire, but that the campground where the sounds were recorded was unscathed. The guy who recorded them also witnessed strange lights and shapes going overhead as well as passing along slowly through the trees. David Palides gets letters from subscribers to his CanAm Missing UA-cam channel about similar stories, of strange lights and UFOs, as well as the presence of UFOs and sasquatch interactions. Something's going on that is really weirdly strange out in these remote and forested areas.
Great story Chris! BTW, love the format of telling the story then listening to the actual interview while you are cooking!❤
Good to hear! C🏕
Absolutely love this story. It’s not something that you just make up. Very believable. I love catching up on all these stories
My strange crave for stories gets mouth-watered by “oh-kaaay, this is strange…”😁
Wow, wondering at what point she heard or felt the log hitting the car. Would have been loud. I grew up near Placerville and know where Pollock Pines is. Scary story. Thank you for the story. Thank you to the nurse for sharing it.
It hit the car while I had the hood up and was looking at the engine. Scared me so bad I jumped.
@@emaliciously WOW!! Being on deserted back roads so much, I assume you carry, but you know when you see and hear something as large as this "animal", you'd need a cannon to stop it! That would be where I peed my pants!! 😬😲 Great job on keeping your head(after letting them teenagers have it😂), when you realized it wasn't that and got the heck out of there!! I can't blame you for shifting areas and staying safe! Hope you had a wonderful Mothers Day and thank you for your service in health care!! I believe that's braver than being in the military because with that, you may or may not see fighting and casualties, but in health care, you know you will deal with "casualties" nearly everyday! Stay safe and be blessed! Thanks for sharing your encounter!
@@emaliciously Oh my gosh, you were so brave, and then yelling out and scaring them away, whoever it was. So frightening. Having to stop out in the middle of nowhere. So glad you were okay.
Yes she was! C
@@basecampchris thank you Chris, great story here
Awesome thank you Chris 💪🏻❤️🌲
Great to see you again Chris!!!
My Mothers day wish to see a new video tonight came true!
Happy Mothers day to all my other Mommas who love ❤️ this Channel!!!
Kirste from McLeod County Minnesota
Thank you Kristie! Happy Mothers Day! bcc⛺
Great guest Emily, brave for camping alone and far in the woods in cold weather . Thanks Chris for bringing her encounter on !! Stay safe 👍keep hiking 🥾🥾
Yr dinner looks yummy 😋
Welcome MJ! C🐻
Brave yes, but unwise. A woman alone in the wilderness is very, very vulnerable.
Congratulations on 100 k 🎉 ,I'm guessing I'm ur 100 k subscriber . Just found your videos last night
Awesome...yes thank you! C🐻
Chris- I have noticed you are a very objective interviewer. You don’t lead the witness, you are right there with them asking specific questions, trying to figure out (like the rest of us) what is going. I really appreciate that.
The people you interview sound so sincere and their memory of the event is so burned into their mind, it’s crystal clear to them (and frightening). It adds so much credibility.
Anyways, thank you for all you do…the stories, the camping equipment and beer guiding 😅, making it happen in the wilderness (in some places I wouldn’t do without a platoon). Your attention to detail makes you an outstanding investigator. In many ways you remind me of Dave Paulides and how he is searching for what is going on.
He probably thought the hood bang was a shot from a gun. Thanks Buddy, great story.
Had not thought about this. Good point. It for sure reacted and left right after I closed the hood so you may be right.
Love love listening ….. huge fan!!!!👍🏾✨👍🏾✨👍🏾
Ohhh damn, I'm hooked!!! Second video and you got me!!!
What a nice, little camper Chris❤️❣️
Thank you Jen ! it is cozy...will take it out again. bcc🐻
This channel so deserves it SILVER BUTTON. Phenomenal conent.
Absolutely awesome video, Chris. I love your amazing camper and set up. It’s nice seeing you at Grover, that’s one of my favorite spots on earth. I can’t wait until the campground opens this year! Great storytelling as always. This must have been a terrifying experience for Emily.
Awesome - Thank you G.V. ! That is a great park...a lot history there to! Water Falls are running like crazy now...didn't make it to the falls but will next time. Appreciate it - C🐻
@@basecampchris that is great to know. I wasn’t sure how things were up there after this intense winter. I went up to Hope Valley recently and the whole meadow was flooded and the parking lot for the trail was gated off and covered in snow. I didn’t even want to attempt Grover that day for fear of the same. Anyways, have fun out there!
Great stuff as always!
I love the cooking parts too!
Camp outdoor food is som of my favorites!
good to hear...I think I'll continue to do that! C
Chris, your show / channel encompasses everything I absolutely LOVE!… from the brew tastings to your camp meals… to your hike out, the interviews and especially everything in between! You are a fantastic storyteller! Thank you for this beautiful work and your kindness and respect towards your guests/ inspiration. ❤🏕
Always love your story’s . Thank you for having a site where folks feel free enough to share their frightening experience about this creatures called big foot .
Very welcome Dena! c🌞
Amazing camper~I will join you anytime! I enjoy the IPA biers you share. Your stories are scary and i look forward to listening. SKOL🎉
Nurse: "*I* was kind of a hoodlum as a teenager." lol
I love the cooking segments in these videos but all together they're grand. Cheers, Chris.
Absolutely awesome encounter/story Chris!! I like this lady, she sounds totally level headed and she did the right thing by giving that thing (Probably A Sasquatch) a good piece of her mind!! This was probably some sort of territorial warning or something!! I cant even begin to imagine the strength it would take to twist and rip off a giant hardwood oak branch and chuck it that far!! Thats mind boggling!!
Yes- she handles herself well in that situation.
Wow, 9% beer is almost a barley wine! That will put you to sleep better than Night Nurse!!
Oh my, what an amazing story. Absolutely love watching and listening to all that you deliver. Being in Australia it's unbelievable to hear just how many scary encounters people have time and time again in forests and national parks all throughout the USA. Please keep doing what you do... really enjoying your content 😊
Thank you Honi! KH! C
THANKYOU CHRIS!! FOR ALL OF YOUR WORK AND CARE FOR US...
Very Welcome MaryBeth! C🐻
It sounds like this nurse is a "bad a**", who would put Arnold to shame. I like that. Nice story.
Hey Chris, Just Two old guys who watch you Religiously! Cash, and Luke
Great story, well told and an awesome meal prepared as well , looks a great camp Chris 👍
Aewsoem! Thanks Leo ! C
Great show Chris! Helluva story wow what a creeper. Thank you for sharing 😊❤
So glad that nurse made it out ok. Thanks for sharing this adventure tonight. Take care, looking forward to next story!
Happy mother's day INDEED ❤️
Thanks for another great video, nothing like a good chilly scare before bedtime😁
Happy Mothers Day! C🌞
😲 Thank You Chris that's very kind of you.
This now is one of my best mothers days.
Happy mother's day to your mom, she raised a good son.👏
Hello Chris good to see you. Keep up the good work and dedication. We all love you brother. KEEP HIKING 🥾
Creepy story and nice interview! Some strange happenings in the forest
Just found your channel, love it , thinking about starting to drink beer again , been sober ten years.
Well don't start drinking if it's not right for you. But thanks for watching! C
I would love the pop up camper! Thank you for the great stories and I enjoy your camping theme.
I kept checking to see if you uploaded a video today and was glad you did. I figured you might have been spending the day with your parents since it's Mother's Day. Boy that poor nurse! My first thought was that I was wondering if the patient had any encounters with big foot since he or she lives in a remote area. 😮😯😲😳
I love the surprise of a new story!
I grew up in the mountains and my brothers and I would hear things that was not right to us. At night you couldn't get us kids to go outside for nothing.
I'm wondering if she contacted the owner of the home she had been visiting that day (maybe she said, but I missed it).
🤠Awesome as always, Chris. Thank you! 😎
Love the stories and love the pop up camper. Thanks again dear Chris 😊
welcome Jeannine!
thankyou so much Chris for another fantastic eerie story, and a special thankyou to Emily for sharing your scary story with us i greatly appreciate it
Glad you enjoyed it!! C🐻🌲
Thank you for the story nurse Emily, and thank you also for taking care of the sick and injured. Awesome work, and awesome story too!
Another great story, thanks for sending that one in Emily! I also like your pop up tent. A good friend of mine who passed away a few years ago used to publish "The Pop-up Times". He said it was the only periodical dedicated strictly to pop up tents which he loved. He had a devoted subscriber list.😊
Love your channel Chris👣
There's something so calming about your videos Chris. Thanks and stay safe!🌲💚🌲
Yes!! I think I've become addicted to your videos, I feel like I get a hit of dopamine everytime you post a new one lmao.. I do wish you could post more often, but hay, I'll take what I can get, I'm sure you're a busy man, so I understand completely.. Take care of yourself Chris, can't wait for the next vid!!
I spent many great days at Grovers Hot Springs. The hike to the falls is full of surprises.
Hi Roxy - I did not make it to the falls but will next time...did hike the lower meadow - great park! C
Love the way you tell a story. As a mother it sounds like she gave him a piece of her mind and he stormed off with a temper tandrum. lol
Amazing that they have home health nurses going out that far. They don't do that everywhere. What a bummer having your vehicle hit with a big log. Good for her giving that bratty Sasquatch a talking to.
Nice one, Chris. She sounds really genuine and is keen to lead the discussion, rather than just answer questions. I'm glad she stayed ok. But then I run too once a woman starts shouting! They don't mess about! lol
Thanks Ray! C
I was just thinking about you a few hours ago! Wondering when you're gonna upload. :)
Hi Maureen - yes- busy spending Mothers Day with Jeannette! Great Day...Thanks C
There is a Canadian huting guide that is very popular. He reported that he and a hunting customer were sitting outside a tree blind and a 50# boulder came sailing out of the woods 40 yards away and landed very close to where they were sitting. He returned later to this tree house and it was destroyed and this was 30 miles by horseback in the middle of nowhere. Gave my chills. I was raised in the backwoods and some woods tell you something is wrong. I've heard bigfoot once and that was enough.
Wow, very chilling! Thanks for sharing that...C🐻
i know the area from hwy 50 to hwy 88.. ive seen some strange things. always when i was alone. i lived in grizzly flats for 5 years before the fire. i always carried protection in that forest from grizzly towards 88.. i too grew up in the forest.. theres something in that forest...
Welcome William! - C
I completely agree.
I really enjoy the stories with interviews from the sender. It does make it seem much more real.
Hi Chris! Very good story!
We are headed to a lake Fri night close to mom's and will try to RECORD something! Yikes! Lol..... Your witness did a really good job relaying her story! It occurred to me this could be getting scarier for you alone in the woods, story after story. Hope you're doing ok! Thank you!
Linda from Kansas
Thank you Linda! Appreciate your updates! C🐻
I love cracking a beer with you Chris, and hanging out in nature listening to real life campfire stories.
Excellent video Chris. Putting a campout, dinner and story together. ❤
Thanks Dr D ! c
Great video, Chris! From a Twin Cities fan 🤝🫶
Awesome...Thanks for watching and go Twins! C
@@basecampchris thanks! I'm taking my daughters with to Elm Creek Park Reserve this Summer per your strong endorsement. We're staring an Adventure Club to keep my two gals entertained while our family goes through a transition. If you ever want to hear my paranormal (probably a spirit, but I am no expert) story from Overseas while I was enlisted, please let me know. I haven't gotten the sense that it's preferred content yet, and I have a radio announcer voice ;) haha so the phone call part would be entertaining, too :)
Another fabulous post!! Love the recording of your interview at the end and the great water and scenic shots you always include. I wonder what she told her insurance about the dent damage? Ouch! Best -from thankfully very rainy Colorado!!
Was a work car so work waa used to dents and such due to the difficult areas I went into. I don't think I even reported it at the time.
Love your tales of " look over your shoulder " that I do now after I discovered your channel, and the introduction of the"beer" and I'm thinking "just one", keep up with the great tales. Love them.
I listen to this guy every single day at work, just makes my day go faster and I'm going to prepare to become a backpacker once I start getting older because my stamina is really good and I want to use it.
Hi Chris! I love you and your channel. From Duluth MN now living in St John VI.
Thank you Sherri!
I always enjoy our stories.
I kept thinking he was going to melt his sleeve on the hot lantern 🔥
Wooohoooo.......you are SO CLOSE to 100,000. Im so happy for you!
Another great story!
Thank you, Chris, for all you do!
Thank you Carmen! Yes- getting close!!! C🐻
can’t get enough of these stories 🌲
This is the best channel on UA-cam! ❤
Another good story. Thanks!
Another awesome video my friend and got me hungry 😋 too lol 😆
I remember when my family enjoyed our Starcraft camper when I was growing up. It had two bunks and the fold down table bed. It slept six as well, but it had a fridge, sink and gas stove. I love your channel and your storytelling abilities are amazing!
Hello Chris 🖐️✌️
Another great video (as always)
Poor nurse Emily! That would scare the crap out of anyone!!!
That was a great Mother's Day surprise! Thanks Chris!! 🤗😊👣👣👀💪💪🌳🌲🌵🍃🌿🌱☘️🍀
Welcome Gloria! Happy Mothers Day!🌞bcc
Mu dad is about to take my kids camping next week in our old pop up camper!❤❤
I own a high-clearance 4X4 pop-up tent camper that I pull with my Jeep. The camper is only eight feet long when folded up and sixteen feet when extended. I have pulled it over very rough, steep roads/trails, and it's a hoot to camp in it. Even though the camper has LED lights, I use my old Coleman lantern for light (like you), which significantly warms the camper up. At least enough that you can't see your breath after a little while. The camper has a propane heater, but it's always good to be frugal with the propane when way out in the backcountry.
