Convert Horizontal Video To Vertical Premiere Pro

- In this tutorial, I'll show you show to create a vertical video from a horizontal video. In other words, converting the landscape video into a portrait video. In this way, the edges of the frame will be cut out. This is different from rotating a video. For example, if you got a video of 1920 x 1080, it'll change to a video of 1080 x 1920. That means 1920 - 1080 = 840 will be shorter from the sides. Portrait videos are great for mobile phone platforms such as Instagram Reels, IGTV, TikTok, Snapchat, UA-cam Short, etc.

The height for me is not aligned. Although definitely not horizontal anymore, I still have a lot of black space on the top and bottom. How do you fix this?

Everything works but the format is still 1920 to 1080. No vertical even though i didnt change the settings when putting in the clip into the sequenz

Note: When you swapped the aspect ratio, the height remained 1080 and the width was downsized to 608. Your video went from 1920x1080 to 1080x608. If you want that to be 1080x1920, you need to change the size again after it auto-downscales your video.
how to do that? Because you're right. I'm getting black bars on top and bottom. To remove that I have to scale the video up that decreases the video quality. Is there any other way to do it? Please let me know.
Same problem as the guy above I have the black bars on gaming videos, any way to force it to be vertical without distorting the video itself?
When you export it is 1920x1080! Dont know why it shows 1080x608 in sequence settings.

I can't find where you File on my pc , please can you direct me on how to get to the file ?
Excuse me, what you mean by you File? Do you mean the "file" tab on Pr? To create a new sequence you could use the shortcut key of Ctrl + N as well instead of going to the "file" tab.

that changes a sequence - not the source video, in the project
Pr never changes the source video. After changing the sequence, you got to export it and then if you want override the source video with the newly exported video after first closing Pr. All the best.
