Nice way to ice fish. Tried it once was to cold for me. Enjoying watching you catch them. Some people can handle the cold 🥶 better than others. Fish on.
we have a few lakes here in Utah that you can ice fish for kokes in, but they are huge lakes and typically require a snowmobile to get far enough out on. wish we had some more kokanee options down here! cant wait for the ice to hit now
I don't mean to be contrarian, but I can think of a fair amount of lakes here with kokanee. Like 7 right off the top ofh my head within ~3 hours of SLC. I'd like to see more walleye or lake trout before more kokanee personally. But agreed, Kokanee are awesome ❤
@ I’m referring to the lakes that actually freeze regularly that one could go out on far enough to catch a Kokanee. You won’t catch a Koke in the marina at strawberry or fishlake, and Jordanelle rarely freezes enough to go on. Flaming gorge also requires finding deep water, where else were you thinking of?
@ Gotcha. 👌 Fish Lake, Causey, Electric Lake were some of the others I was thinking about. Not sure if they'll be what you're looking for. Maybe check them out?
@spiltmilt that's fair! Was just curious if the process was any different to your kayak lake fishing - this will be my first season ice fishing Kokanee. Thanks for the videos!
Can’t wait time to get the gear ready 🎣👍🏾

Had to read the comments.... can't wait for this season. Thanks for reminding me that we're close!
Good stuff! I can't wait to do some ice fishing back up in Canada this winter. No ice down here in SoCal!
Hello fro Alaska It that time of the year again yeahhh !!! ❤ 0:25
Can't wait for ice fishing. Nice one!
Had no idea you could ice fish for them..always thought it a boat game. Thanx!
I think people target the whitefish in Banks Lake? Saw some vids on that a few months back. Happy to see you’re back in my algorithm!!
We apparently have pygmy whitefish in Keechelus lake and maybe some other reservoirs.

@@Sandz_ thank you!
@@Sandz_ Agreed, more walleye and lake trout here in Utah would be awesome!
This is so awesome!!!
For ice fishing kokanee do you bleed right away still? Then ice, gut and refrigerate for 24hrs before filleting them?
Yes normally I do but this lake I was trying to get fish as quick as possible because the bite dies off so early in the day.

You have ice already?? wow
In general, do kokes still have the strongest bite early morning in the winter? or are they usually on middle of the day when it's warmest?
Morning is still best even on the ice
Is this footage from this year ?
It's cooling off in Southwest Wyoming. No ice yet.
Got the juices going.... Thanks Tyler
Last year
Just curious, why two maggots instead of one?
In case one gets stripped
How thick is the ice? Great video 👍👍🎣
0” right now
Why don’t you utilize your panoptix ps22 anymore? It is far better than a flasher.
Too big and heavy to mess around with
How about adding another camera so we can watch your fish finder with you?
Working on another solution this
This early?!?! Dang!
Are using sonar?
Yes
If I have read the regs properly, chumming is permitted in some lakes in Washington. Is this something you have tried for kokanee through the ice?
No lakes that allow chumming have Kokanee and freeze regularly
What would you use to chum for Kokanee?
dispatch the fish!
Prioritizing getting fish on the ice. Its a narrow bite window.
