This reminds me of the the time when my sister had the manga and let me borrow it. I then gave a volume to someone in my class cause they wanted to read it. 5 years later, she still hasn't given it back. It had my favourite character (Mint) on it aswell. I'm still pissed Alison. Just because you went to a different secondary school doesn't mean you can escape me.
Precure is still bright and colorful till today, though recent seasons have dark and serious moments but not to the point where it gets edgy like magical girls these days
the charm of magical girl for me is the show clearly targeted young girl demographic but i still can enjoy the character and story, now nowadays magical girl are clearly targetted toward adult male demographic, though girl might find it appealing too

Ahh oh man. I remember when I watched this the first time on youtube. It had eng sub but I was really young back then and knew basically 0 English as it's not my mother language. Still I understood what was going on and I could somehow follow the story. I should rewatch Tokyo Mew Mew tbh. Kisshu was one of my first crushes haha:D I started to use his name as my internet name and now it has evolved to this one I have now lol.

I remember I used to love this Manga. I forget his name, but the alien that loved Ichigo literally broke my heart with how sincere he was towards her. Ichigo was so lucky but seriously overlooked his love. Nevertheless I am happy she found her love was reciprocated by Masaya.
I loved Kisshu, he was my first "serious" childhood crush. But he was kinda toxic and obsessive. Now that Im older I understand that Ichigo wasnt into him (as much as I wanted to switch with her :D)

I watched a lot of Mahou Shoujo shows, i read a bunch of Magical mangas, but no one is like Tokyo Mew Mew 🤭❤❤❤ TMM is unique, memorable,heartbreaking, lovely,touching 🥺
Tokyo Mew Mew is clearly one of two girl shows that even boys watch. the other one is Sailor Moon. But Sailor Moon is too oldschool. and in general, Tokyo Mew Mew is more acceptable.

I’m the same age as you and it was my first anime too! But it aired on tv in the uk when I was much younger and I didn’t even know it was anime 😂 I was obsessed with it!
I never actually watched this anime, but when I was younger (it was around 2006-2008) I always watched their transformations and the AMV's of this anime and I absolutely loved it, feels very nostalgic to watch this opening again
This really deserves respect. Back then people really put their hearts in both anime and openings. Today I'd say that the openings don't have as much heart as this one does. If I'd rate it I would give it 1000 out of 5 stars. The soft voice and the wholesome choice of words really go along together perfectly. Still I'm sad for the loss...may this masterpiece be a memory of Mia Ikumi...rest in peace...❤😭👍

omg I remember this anime, the monolouge at the start of every episode, with pink girl's (forgot her name) eyes, the tune of the opening and what it shows, the transformation and attacks, the style and color of the school uniform, and so much more! even the scene whrre the pink girl got a fish in her mouth or smthn like that, really nostalgic

@@JellyFishGell Clearly something is kinda missing in new anime... or rather, something that is present in modern anime that doesn't give the same vibes. I think it's because of production values. Back then creators of Anime were allowed a lot of creative freedom when adapting a Manga, allowed to stray from the Manga canon to create something unique, even adding lots of "filler" moments which make anime feel more alive. While modern anime are too focused on telling canon story, even omitting small events to do it fast.
@@KeyleeTamirian but even then, the reboot changed the beginning of the story, which I highly dislike and that first episode, that first bit of them changing the story, made it so I don't want to watch the rest of the series at all. That first episode ruined it for me.
This was the first anime I watched that I was aware that it was an anime. (Pokémon and DragonballZ occasionally, and ALL of SonicX, and Dinosaur King) It was all available here on UA-cam then. Man, the 2000s have been such a weird time growing up...

Personally, I don't really think a relationship between them at least with how Kisshu was for most of the manga and anime would have been healthy he literally tried to kidnap her twice in the manga. Kisshu still had a lot to learn about love and what it truly means and I've always felt like if they had been given a chance to talk without either of them fighting, similar to the situation Taru-taru and Pudding were in they could have been friends and learned things about each other but as it stands until Kisshu sacrifices himself for Ichigo he is very possessive and a relationship between them would be abusive on both sides. I agree Aoyama was a bit bland but he cared about Ichigo and made her happy that's what matters. Maybe if they don't work out and Kisshu comes back to earth sometime in the future then they could be together in a loving and consensual relationship

This really deserves respect. Back then people really put their hearts in both anime and openings. Today I'd say that the openings don't have as much heart as this one does. If I'd rate it I would give it 1000 out of 5 stars. The soft voice and the wholesome choice of words really go along together perfectly. Still I'm sad for the loss...may this masterpiece be a memory of Mia Ikumi...rest in peace...❤😭👍

@@JellyFishGell Clearly something is kinda missing in new anime... or rather, something that is present in modern anime that doesn't give the same vibes. I think it's because of production values.
Back then creators of Anime were allowed a lot of creative freedom when adapting a Manga, allowed to stray from the Manga canon to create something unique, even adding lots of "filler" moments which make anime feel more alive. While modern anime are too focused on telling canon story, even omitting small events to do it fast.
The new one is sadly disappointing
@@KeyleeTamirian but even then, the reboot changed the beginning of the story, which I highly dislike and that first episode, that first bit of them changing the story, made it so I don't want to watch the rest of the series at all. That first episode ruined it for me.

Personally, I don't really think a relationship between them at least with how Kisshu was for most of the manga and anime would have been healthy he literally tried to kidnap her twice in the manga. Kisshu still had a lot to learn about love and what it truly means and I've always felt like if they had been given a chance to talk without either of them fighting, similar to the situation Taru-taru and Pudding were in they could have been friends and learned things about each other but as it stands until Kisshu sacrifices himself for Ichigo he is very possessive and a relationship between them would be abusive on both sides. I agree Aoyama was a bit bland but he cared about Ichigo and made her happy that's what matters. Maybe if they don't work out and Kisshu comes back to earth sometime in the future then they could be together in a loving and consensual relationship
