0:50 “Jeff would come back into the kitchen later that night to actually physically fight Ramsay, but sprained his ankle on the way back into the kitchen.”
Honestly, you couldn’t write something that ridiculous if you tried. I just imagine Jeff charging at Ramsay with something in his hand, only to trip and injure himself. And then Ramsay just has some crew members carry him out while he’s rolling in pain. Almost like Timothy Dalton with the model town church spike in Hot Fuzz or something.

Tommy's was pretty powerful. Not just because he was normally so chill, but because it showed how much he cared. And he wasn't being entitled. He was upset and genuinely wanted to know what he did wrong, as opposed to getting defensive. Like once Ramsay realized this wasn't a tantrum, and he was legitimately hurt, he couldn't even chew him out anymore. Just ask him to not make the situation worse, and accept the choice even if it hurt.

Jennifer and Elise don’t want any help from Tommy. Floaters can’t help when others don’t want any help and yes Jennifer and Elise deserved to get nominated that time.

Credit to Tenille, she was the only one to arguably beat Ramsay. He was ready to kick her out no doubt, but weather it was what she said, or how she said it, he let her back in. About as close as anyone came to beating him in an arguement.

What Tennille did is when Jen THOUGHT she was doing to Ramsay, I guess.
Difference is, though: Tennille was standing up for herself when Ramsay questioned her passion and talent, saying she was working hard but was upset by the pushback. Ramsay saw the fight in her and gave her another chance, which she herself proved was the right decision. Jen, meanwhile, accused Ramsay of mistakes that SHE was making, so she just make herself look petty and childish and not worthy of Ramsay's time or respect.

tommy's was not a tantrum by any means. i highly disagree with that point respectfully. he was genuinely unsure as to what he did wrong, and seeing gordon realize it at the wrong moment, he completely flipped his switch and told him to just not make the situation get even more out of hand. i could instantly tell that gordon had some serious respect for him after that moment. there was not one other contestant that said "do it" to one of ramsay's threats, and seeing gordon during the full episode look almost flabbergasted solidified that opinion for me. tommy was the only one who was ready to get his head shoved into that freezer and get spoken to through the gas burners. you could tell he was dead serious when he said "do it". tommy gained all of my respect in that moment. no questions asked. he didn't have a tantrum at all.

I've read that although this one was by far the most egregious, that by the final 3 Ramsay already knows who he's going to choose to run his new restaurants, so he eliminates the "2nd place" contestant at the 3rd place eliminations instead. this is to make the final more "obvious" between the 1st place and who realistically should have been in 3rd place.
I don't know how true this is, but it definitely makes sense in season 3. A finale between Keith and Heather would have made some people upset because Keith and Heather were nearly evenly matched, but the Heather/Virginia finale everyone agreed that Heather deserved to win.

A former producer claims that even though they have no video footage of the confrontation, they have audio of it because Ramsay still had his microphone on when it occurred. He also said the confrontation was very intense (Remember, Gordon was at his peak during this time). At the very least, they could have edited footage of the other contestants looking shocked as the confrontation took place. I'm convinced customers don't go to Hell's Kitchen for the food, they go for the entertainment

The people I would love to see on Hell's Kitchen are Evel Dick Donato, Nicole Franzel, Zach Ranse, Da'Vonne Rogers, Bayleigh Dayton, Gina Marie Zimmerman, Amanda Zuckerman, Christmas Abbott, Devin Shepherd, Josh Martinez, Paulie Califiore, Vanessa Rousso, Willie Hantz, Rachel Reilly, Chima Simone, Scott Weintraub, Justin Sebik, and Howie Gordon.

Sometimes Ramsay deserves to be confronted. Also, those customers are actors...

Gordon's response to keith is a bit shitty to be honest, I get Gordon is putting them through their paces and seeing how they respond to pressure, but there's definitely a fair few moments, especially during the earlier seasons, where it comes across as Gordon doing this shit just because he can.
Also it's hilarious to see Joy commenting on Scott standing his ground against Ramsay, when she would just throw a tantrum and storm out

Gordon was still right, Keith was too arrogant and there was no chance he would've won against Heather. Nobody could've tbh she was by far the strongest, the runner up didn't really matter

@@vdd1001 He was right, but he went about in a bit of a crappy way. Regardless, I think coming in second to Heather is far easier to accept than coming in third behind Virginia

And considering that Scott would go on to win the season, that confrontation certainly helped.
