The Molinator shooting bag from unknown munitions makes a 4OZ fortune cookie shooting bag that is the greatest rear bag for hunting.
LS wild bags are also great. Their mini ultralight is an ounce and half for 40 bucks.
Well... 111 great episodes before a 🍋, pretty good ratio. Ready for ep.113.
Great ethics conversation. If I can make a shot at a distance with a real hunting scenario with 7/10 accuracy I’m taking the shot.
I’m honestly surprised that there’s any negative comments about Jim, I’ve been watching his channel for over 2 years, and he’s genuinely one of the most insightful channels regarding rifles, scopes, etc. The first thing I try to look for if I’m looking at a rifle is see if Backfire has made a video on it, love that you guys had him on. Truly an amazing group of people!
If you thjn Backfire is a good source of information you REALLY must be new to shooting/hunting or not very bright. Harmer is a UA-cam poser.
@@JamesClark-lw6sw Yeh he pretty much just regurgitates what others have said to create content without trying to gain an understanding.
Brought a smile to my face to see the Coyote icon in the app
@gohunt has Brady with his love of big 30s though of going to a 300Norma etc on the Deserttech SRS Platform he'd still get a 26inch barrel Ultra magnum but with a package almost 10inchs shorter and fairly similar weight.
Mind blown. I never linked Backfire Brad to Gritty Brad. I loved the Backfire videos with Brad and Ricky.
To answer the what value gun to get for everything elk to pronghorn I would choose the .270 win in a ruger american. You can make hand loads that have 1800 ft lbs of energy left at 500 yards or you can cool it down a bit for a kid shooting their first deer. The .270 Winchester still reigns supreme in my book
270 for a kids first time deer gun is a terrible idea. 223 or 243 is what you want. . It's also not 1973 so no need to shoot a 270. there's much more efficient cartridges with better bullets
@@lycheeznutsyour comment is laughable 😂
@@gsnicholas8522 not really! My AR 5.56 with a 62 gr Barnes TSX @3000 fps has killed a bunch of whitetail out to 200 yards! Deer aren’t hard to kill if you shoot straight!
@@thedirtygot9570 your not going to get any argument from me. 22 caliber rifles are viable deer cartridges when good bullets are used. But saying a 270 isn't a good choice is laughable. Even for kids when it's loaded down a bit. I've started several kids with a 270 running 130 grain bullets in the 2700-2800 fps range. Recoil is very light and it was very effective on whitetail.
@@gsnicholas8522 lot of folks don’t reload so loading down isn’t an option! A 10-12 year old would be able to practice a lot more with a 5.56!
Thanx
This epsisode is the Blind leading the Blind here.
Wallymart Jim
Jim early in the video says a short barrel 6.5 PRC is just a creedmoor, then towards the end recommends an 18” RUGER American in 6.5 PRC 😂😂😂
This is the same guy who tried to do a review on the Seek Outside tipi and had the titanium stove set up backwards.... he's just trying to make money off youtube and actually doesn't have much experience at all.
You can get 24 inch barrel 6.5 Creedmoor performance from an 18 inch barrel 6.5 PRC
@@shovelhead2155 of course the ammo is more expensive!
@@thedirtygot9570 true
@@shovelhead2155 we all know this… but the fact his recommendation is a ruger American is the laughable part.
Please show me how to do this for a living.
Basically just sell your soul...that's the first step
Great conversation, keep these longer ones coming 💪🏻
Love Backfire!
His rifle/scope recommendations are eyebrow raising. He'd benefit from interacting with better quality scopes especially. At least he didn't push the anti long range agenda too much.
This is awesome
Jim’s awesome! Great group of guys! Has anyone ever thought about recording a big game harvest in every GMU in a single state? So Idaho has about 100. Call it the 1-100 series?
We all know Lorenzo’s personal views on covid and the vaccine but why does he force it in? I’d personally like to listen to a hunting podcast and not hear mentions that have nothing to do with hunting
Those go hunt ear plugs are a great solution for you. Otherwise if you cant listen to different points of views why are you listening to a podcast?
Someone has vax remorse😂
It must really frustrate you when every single mainstream outlet for anything jams politics into… oh, I dunno, sports, movies, outdoors, entertainment
@@Tymannosourusit does man. I consume politics, don’t get me wrong, but I prefer my hunting to be hunting, politics to be politics, sports to be sports. I support what gohunt’s mission and their purpose and enjoys their podcasts overall. Just my own feedback.
I’m sticking old school with my 7mm rem mag. I’m pushing 162 grain Hornady sst to almost 3200 fps I mean what more do you need. The real hunting bullet is the nosler partition it will kill an elk properly over all these new high BC bullets with the super thin jackets. No good. Nosler is still the best in my book there is no need to buy a 7 prc it’s hard to get brass for it’s just not worth it. If I wanted more power then what I have now id jump up to the 300 rum or the 300 weatherby. Unless I can get ol Randy Selby to make me one of his 7mm x 404 wapiti express
If something is offensive to you or you don't like it, change the channel! 😀
Not sure why anyone who knows much of anything would see backfire as a credible source of information. Seems like a nice guy but he’s definitely not going to add much knowledge to the conversation.
Lost a lot of respect for jim hearing that most of his game meat gets fed to a dog. My dog only gets the scraps and trimmings , that stuff is way too precious I eat every ounce of
The worst guest of all time.
This backfire guy gives out so much terrible advice
Agreed. Used to love the channel but then he went full time and turned into horrible click bait and questionable content
I’m curious what you specifically thought was terrible advice?
You're not even going to say one thing you disagree with?
@@backfire Be U, opinions are like assholes. I even got one.
Can you provide any specific examples?
Wtf? Who argues against prone? Potato
Guy is clueless
You don't know how to cook wild game because you haven't made it a priority. What a shameful/embarrassing start to a video of hunters. Just unsubscribed. True outdoorsman, MIKE!
You may be taking this too seriously. There was nothing said here that was off-putting. Each of us lives off wild game and most here have it every day.
