I'm overjoyed that you, Dave, Tony (who hopefully does well at Hagerty now), and Mike have your own channels and are uploading content. MT's decision to drop the good shows (OG stuff!) and innundate its subscribers with garbage as of late is reason enough for me to cancel my subscription at the end of its term in February. Lucky needs to walk out and leave HRG hanging.....real talent and wit there! Keep up the great work, Fred!
Stanky McGee It seems like it took two people to replace Tony on HRG Alex and her Dad. I've never subbed to mt. and I never will. I don't want to hear the crap of it's only $5.00 a month. Tell that to all of the people who lost their job when mt killed off 19 car/truck magazines right before the holidays in 2019. There's no good time to lose your job trust me I know about that first hand but right before the holidays come on.
I remember changing my front & rear plastic bumpers on my Rubicon.... what a PIA that was, lol. All the screws just to get the fogs lights and rear bumper sensors out, sheesh! Jelly of that AEV bumper, but man they are expensive.
Your presentation on the AEV bumper was interesting and informative. Light, functional & meeting your interests & you got a decent sized winch to add on. It caught my attention though, as I have a 2dr. (white) Rubicon (also have a 4dr) both used for over landing. I bought them (9/7 yrs ago ,used), the 2dr. had a 2" lift and plastic bumpers. After one year they cracked, along with the muffler & my tire/mechanic shop (I know the owner well) suggested metal bumpers. He had a close friend that was 2nd in command at Teraflex. Two days later, the shop picked up front (hooped) & rear metal bumpers and put them on, along with a winch. Later a Factor 55 closed system was put on the winch cable. Since then I've seen so many bumper "systems", (regional, emphasis) with so many preferences & styles. Your system, many components, but obviously lighter. It was interesting though, having you "walk through" the process. There are a lot of players in the 4WD, rock, overland process; many vendors, manufacturers, web sites, and a constellation & Pandora of options for the public. What I see advertised & pushed on the coasts, midwest, south & elsewhere, all so different, and many products(often) high quality and meeting the needs of vehicle owners. Some products; shocks, axles & of course wheels & tires, with a "national name" & reputation. Regardless, you assist in the education & instruction process and that greatly assists (many, I'm certain).
Great video, love how the build is coming along. You're becoming a great videographer, the sound has become so much better in the last few videos. Keep the videos coming.
Awesome video! I just got this same bumper and the zeon 10S winch with yhe 7000 series lights. This made it look easy hahah. I just did the AEV snorkle and rear bumper with tire carrier which was a pain!! Thanks for the video! Subscribed!
Just learned that MT had canceled DED. Sad. I really enjoyed the show and especially the fabrication that you did. I plan to continue to watch you here. Thank you!
Just and observation. In the event of an animal strike that top bar doesn't have the strength of the JK version of the AEV premium bumper which is much thicker and welded.
Everything about these bumpers made me want to throw a wrench. Wish your video was out before I installed mine. I had a ton of fitment issues on my install.
Really like the look & build quality of this AEV bumper. Why don't most front Jeep bumpers have winch mounted like this that way its not blocking radiator?
i finally got a jeep i had been looking since i have been in remission from colon cancer by the way go get checked if you are over 35 i found a 08 rubicon jku on 35's it has high miles but runs great i have been following all your videos to get an idea of what direction i want to go plus i been watching you on ultimate adventure for years and years i love the old videos i miss the old mans beat up sami that thing was beat but ran
❤Fred keep up the good work ! Loyal fan and now I don’t need motortrend channel to watch 😂 where can I get one of those hats? My wife has a tuscadero rubicon 392 and it would be the best for her go too top off hat 🧢
Nice. I have deleted a few subscriptions lately. I hate over produced shows. I like it simple. Like you and I was working on what ever you doing. I hate music blaring and cut angle shots and drama.
yo fred !!! its 2 purdy !!!!! lol 8) u said u like Warn, i've seen several Utube shows that used a Badlands (?) by harbor F. and raved over it and could come w non steel line. r they happy cuz the get paid or whatever from H.F or sponsership or r they really as good as Warn only less $$$$ ???? i want a winch for the 73 k5 i inherited but REAL new to SERIOUS off rding !!! my current 4x4 is a 3/4 ton diesel ... NOT, NOT good for real wheeling but killer for towing our rv 8) any advice is GREATLY as i KNOW u r the real deal from way back . thanks !!!! ps. my blazer i have not lifted or anything yet. not planning on going BIG on anything ..rebuind orig axles etc ...... but getting unstuck is kinda important lol
Cool bumper. It is way too over engendered. I hope you dont need to service the winch because you are never getting to it in the field. I would bet if that bumper takes a little hit, none of the bolts will ever line up again
Seriously, someone had to say something about your glasses, I bet that's the same kind of person that tells someone in a wheelchair that they need to quit sitting there and go dancing.
Hey Fred, is the rear diff. you took out of Newbsock a dana 44? If so, is it for sale? I have a 2000 WJ that I broke the spider gear, off roading on Miller Jeep trail. There is no aftermarket support for spiders or ring & pinion! The center section housing is aluminum! It's weak & I would like a upgrade. Please help if you can!!! Thanks, you know I've watched forever!!!
The justification is hilarious. Steel bumpers make Jeep what it should be, but to say that it makes the vehicle off-road ready is a bridge too far. Unless you like to crash rocks in front of you. Apart from looking solid and better, steel bumper protects nothing so as long as the diff is the lowest thing to the ground. Yet IMHO, Jeep should not come with plastic bumpers at all, but then its base price would not start at $39k
Fred, thank you for putting in the effort to keep us entertained and informed!
Here here!

Laughed at that someone said you wore glasses to look cool. People are fascinating. Thanks for your content.
As an iron worker for twenty years, I've tried a lot of ways to make tube steal look 'nice'. This looks great and is no doubt better designed.
You should do a video about wiring up a winch. I haven't found a good way to wire up a winch and be able to protect the wiring.
Fred, that bumper looks like a pain in the ass to install. Is does look good but wow.
I remember changing my front & rear plastic bumpers on my Rubicon.... what a PIA that was, lol. All the screws just to get the fogs lights and rear bumper sensors out, sheesh! Jelly of that AEV bumper, but man they are expensive.
Looks great…can’t wait to see how it holds up at UA

I always enjoyed your shows Fred !
Toss a couple old pillows and a Jeep blanket in your Warn popcorn tray, and it would be a pretty legit bed for Baxter and Batman!
Lots of stuff I have thought about it done but when watching I feel like I am learning something new every video. Keep posting!
I love that bumper! I am definitely a fan on how this build is coming together. :)
Your buddy Dave needs to smile once in a while.
Another enjoyable video Fred. Keep up the great work.
Nice upgrade. Looks good too. Love Dirt! Thanks
Great video, love how the build is coming along. You're becoming a great videographer, the sound has become so much better in the last few videos. Keep the videos coming.
Phenomenal channel, what a cool project .
The printed script was an amazing addition for me! Very professional move for the hard of hearing!
Very good well informed video. Helped me make a decision on what kind of bumper I want for my 2021 rubicon
Awesome video! I just got this same bumper and the zeon 10S winch with yhe 7000 series lights. This made it look easy hahah. I just did the AEV snorkle and rear bumper with tire carrier which was a pain!! Thanks for the video! Subscribed!

Freaking LOVE AEV products.. Looks great Fred
Wonder how that bumper would hold up in the rust belt? All those sandwiched pieces and dozens of fasteners seem like a recipe for rust.
Very cool bumper kind of gives it a strong stockish look
Just and observation. In the event of an animal strike that top bar doesn't have the strength of the JK version of the AEV premium bumper which is much thicker and welded.
Thanks for the informative vid. Liked the throw a wrench moment comment.
Great work Fred . But I'll be that guy . Never would I put that much effort in simply putting a new bumper on .
Nice helmet. That's a lot of boxes.
Brother I respect and injoy watch what you are doing great work. But dear lord that was alot of work for a bumper lol.
Makes me want to get something like that for my JL
Everything about these bumpers made me want to throw a wrench. Wish your video was out before I installed mine. I had a ton of fitment issues on my install.
I like Dave’s winch bumpers better.
Really like the look & build quality of this AEV bumper. Why don't most front Jeep bumpers have winch mounted like this that way its not blocking radiator?
I actually really like that bumper
i finally got a jeep i had been looking since i have been in remission from colon cancer by the way go get checked if you are over 35 i found a 08 rubicon jku on 35's it has high miles but runs great i have been following all your videos to get an idea of what direction i want to go plus i been watching you on ultimate adventure for years and years i love the old videos i miss the old mans beat up sami that thing was beat but ran
Just spat my coffee after looking up pricing on those lamps. Good lord.
Evan McCausland Then you for sure don't need to check out the new headlights by Holley. I did and Geeze Louise they like them a Lot.
Cool bumbler Fred , any chance of seeing a pink Bigfoot in the background or did that end with other show .😀
Ah, the White CheeseHead Hat…🤔 Popular in Washington 🤪
Oh, the bumper looks great 👍🇺🇸
Muffins!
Fred still has the shenanigans lol
All Over That or this what sleep deprivation looks like.
❤Fred keep up the good work ! Loyal fan and now I don’t need motortrend channel to watch 😂 where can I get one of those hats? My wife has a tuscadero rubicon 392 and it would be the best for her go too top off hat 🧢
Tired brain cracks me up
Awesome job. Get better head lights. The non led ones on your wrangler are terrible. The factory LED are great.
Yay
So this is pretty much just for looks and holds the winch in place? Not for beating on?
Looks like it would be difficult to remove that Winch if you ever had to work on it.
How bright are those front led lights?
How is this boron steel with welding it ?
me thinks someone has been working by themselves to long and long nights muffin boy Fred 😅🤣😂
That is such an over complicated bumper 😂.
Would this bumper fit on a JK?
I think you have been working to hard Fred.
Nice. I have deleted a few subscriptions lately. I hate over produced shows. I like it simple. Like you and I was working on what ever you doing. I hate music blaring and cut angle shots and drama.

Would be nice if they designed it with a few less bolts.
Do u ever fab?
Getting a little tired at the end...lol
You need those LED's from AEV since you have those garbage halogens.
Where to I get a samsquamch hat
Nice bumper but then I looked up the price. Yikes! I guess I won’t be getting one.
Over $3,000 with the lights.

I think he said the rear was a Dana 35, and front was a Dana 30. He upgraded to 44s front and rear
2nd!
3rd !!
1st!
Lol
If you only had a lift, to make your life easier
That bumper install would not be good for my blood pressure.
The justification is hilarious. Steel bumpers make Jeep what it should be, but to say that it makes the vehicle off-road ready is a bridge too far. Unless you like to crash rocks in front of you.

Super complicated install. Just alot of steps. If you don't follow the directions step by step, you would be screwed.
