Oilers can't win because their plus minus is so horrific. On all levels of players compared, Oilers lose brutally. Of course nobody is paying attention to this data except the planning of Florida Panthers whose plus minus is immaculate. If Oilers had a chance they would not play certain players such as Nurse -13, Desharnais -8, Foegele - 8, Derek Ryan - 6, Sam Carrick -11 (regular season), Brown -8 (reg), Perry -6 (reg), Kane -4 (reg). It makes you wonder how the Oilers even made the playoffs they suck so badly.
Seriously? News flash brother the game isn't played on paper or on a computer. It's the on ice results that count & not your stats that matter. Stick to your spreadsheets or your computer based programmed stats because that is a seriously one dimensional & flawed evaluation system you seemed to have put your whole faith & trust in. Stats don't tell the whole story. If they did then the Moneyball example of building a team would be the norm & not just another tool in the evaluation process. Smh😢

Think about it, the Oilers had to survive in the same conference with both the last two Cup champions. Does the East have the same Tampa Bay it had 3 years ago? Are Boston and the Rangers really built for the playoffs?
Dallas beat Vegas and the Avs, and really tested Edmonton -- could the Panthers have come through that? I seriously doubt it. Edmonton beat Dallas and Vancouver, you think a weak team could do that? Eastern Conference bias serves Eastern conference audiences, but it doesn't serve the question well.
You should not be assured when the last time these teams played was 6 months ago, especially knowing the narrative of Edmonton's early season.
