Recipe
13.05 g/0.46 oz sweet almond oil (43.5%)
13.05 g/0.46 oz shea butter (43.5%)
3.75 g/0.13 oz candelilla wax (12.5%)
1-2 drops sweet orange essential oil (optional) (0.5%) / if you are planning to be exposed to sun or worry about ingesting essential oils then do not add any
Substitutions
You can swap the sweet almond oil for any oil you want
You can use mango butter instead of shea butter (refined or unrefined both are ok but the unrefined has a weird taste).
If you want to use beeswax, double the amount of wax in the recipe
If you prefer you can also use cocoa butter, which will give you a harder and less creamy texture

The only citrus essentials that won't cause photosensitivity are tangerine and mandarin. Other citrus oils can be used but you must make sure they're steam distilled and not cold pressed. Most citrus essential oils are cold pressed. Thanks

Hello. I’ve tried your formula but it didn’t become a solid balm. It’s in between solid & liquid. Where did i’ve done wrong? Can i fix it?

I tried it but I taste the candelilla wax very strong and I don't like that taste. Is there another wax that doesnt overpower? Thankyou x
Beeswax. Just double the amount of the candelilla!

@@Bfly. Double the amount if you use beeswax (because it has a lower melting point so you need more to make the product hard)

Always do double boiler methods as it doesn't kill the benefits of the ingredients

Depends on ingrediens

There is not water-based ingredients so no need for preservative for personal use :)

You get lip oil/lip slush. The wax solidifies the mixture

anyone else noticing their beeswax pellets take much longer to melt over the butter? is this normal? dont want to ruin the stability of the shea butter by letting it cook too long

6 months. You can also add vitamin E to make it more stable and counter-act any rancidity
