    Of course right, that first fish was awesome. But then to lose the Bomber from being cut off is just so ironic. Fishing is an exercise from extreme triumph or hero to zero on every cast. Humility, frustration and total instant gratification all in ten minutes lol. Great video dude. SoSoCal

    Very nice sized fish, I think that one that peeled drag and came off was a big blue. They have a tendency to run one direction then stop on a dime and run in another direction

And that place gets loaded with gator blues all in that river all the way to the back. And I’m surprised how many bass are back there but I’m not surprised too with all the bunker back there

    Rich, I'm 52 and retired vet watching you from the Philippines.
    I'm planning to get a Pedal Kayak soon. I have a sit in kayak now with honda outboard. Love your kayak man, simple and reliable.
    Two questions for you if you don't mind:
    1. Which drive type would you recommend for offshore fishing? The Hobie drive ( two flippers) or the Pedal drive using a Propeller?
    2. Where do you mount your fish finder sensor?

    • @FishAholicTV
      @FishAholicTV  2 роки тому +1

      Hey Dale, really sorry for the late reply. I would recommend the Hobie pedal drive. Also most if not all hobies now come with convenient mounting plates on the bottom of the kayak where you can mount your fish finder sensor. Hope this helps a little! Thank you for your service and tight lines out there!!

    Hey rich nice vid brotha. was wondering why you like to stick with the 9’ for most of your surf applications. Especially at Montauk with some wind in your face. Clearly whatever you’re doing is working haha. But was just wondering if you ever step it up to 10 or 11 on the beach with some bigger surf. Tight lines.

    • @louisperez2915
      @louisperez2915 4 роки тому +1

      Probably because it’s more convenient to cast for a long period of time compared to a heavier 10 or 11 foot setup, after some time it really takes a toll on your body.

    • @FishAholicTV
      @FishAholicTV  4 роки тому +2

      Yeah exactly what Louis said. When I was a kid I used 10’ rods more and I actually won an 11’ ft lamiglass last year for a catch and release prize but I sold that because I’m so more comfortable with having a few different 9-9.6ft surf rods with different actions. So medium moderate fast action for 1/2-2ounce and medium heavy for 3/4-4ounce. If I’m fishing the montauk surf at night I’ll usually always go with the medium heavy unless it’s a calm night.
