I enjoyed watching you make that, thanks. I must say I keep seeing videos from America on people with only a 'small shop' which is as big as my house, it's really dishonest. You do indeed have a small shop and I was looking over your shoulder at how well organised it is. That's not sarcasm, it may look cluttered but you have used every inch of space efficiently. Keenly subscribed.
Nice to come across yet another Paul Sellers fan, watching you make that cane I'd say you learned plenty from him just like the rest of us have, great job.
Yes Paul likes to do things his way and I to learn a lot. There is so much of the same ole stuff. Paul shows a side of ole English joinery that we dont see much.
Greetings from Australia mate. That was so enjoyable and refreshing to see hand tools used so skilfully. I’ve never seen a mortise and tenon joint done by hand before. Thanks for imparting your skill. Unfortunately as I’m in my sixties and my frail legs have resulted in me using a walking stick. Now I know how to make a custom stick. So much nicer than the cheap Chinese alloy variety I’m using at present. You’re worth subscribing. Thanks again. 🙏
Nice walking stick Dave. Good to see you back in the shop again. The bees have gone to rest here in the north. The last of the yellow jackets are out looking for a bit of winter forage before the snow flies.
+Old Sneelock's Workshop Yeah I am getting a little more time in the shop. We have a lot of flowers out. We always get a fools Spring when the weather changes.
+Harry Rogers Thanks Harry. I still find myself going back to the hand method on the stones. The machines are such a hassle to get out and prep the jigs. Its just faster. You know its funny how we come full circle and I find myself using old methods first.
Once the cane is used you'll find you need to tweak the handle. Shave off a little where the thumb grasps it, and on the other side where the pointing finger meets the shaft.
could u do a vid or 3 on making complex moulding plane blades.or just simpler wooden plane blades.ie from o2 steel and shaping. then the metal wizardry stuff like tempering and such.
I know this is a couple years old but maybe someone can give me an answer to this: what is the tool the was used on the tennon? The one that would now be a palm router. I've been woodworking for nearly 20 years but have never encountered one of those. I must have it. If my spine and joints allow, I prefer scrapers and rasps for shaping as opposed to template and router. Also like to add that I love seeing other people's meticulously cluttered workshops. People who don't work with tools just see a clutter aka, the wife, lol.
its in his paid teachings. You would have to get a membership to view it. But Paul has been releasing a lot of his paid teachings. I bet with a little time he will put it out for free.

He was using a hand router plane. There are all kinds of videos on making your own if you can't find one to buy.
Can you provide a link to Paul Seller's video of the walking cane?
its in his paid teachings. You would have to get a membership to view it. But Paul has been releasing a lot of his paid teachings. I bet with a little time he will put it out for free.
What wood you use?
+86DIONIS Spalty wormy black walnut with the sapwood still on it.
I got bored watching you measure a million times over. I don't know maybe you do good work.
