If you think about it this is the only channel that the videos are short but very informative and actually shows everything precisely. This has got to be the best channel for photoshop.

A couple weeks ago I made a $10,000 note with my face on it to promote my candidacy for treasurer of my university. It took me hours to make a good template to start with. I just came across this video. Wishing I had seen it before I did all that work! 😂

Holy Cow!!! You're an awesome teacher. Thank you for your work. I've been using Photoshop Elements for several years and have just recently begun to feel like I was getting over the hump in my learning curve, and becoming comfortable with the software. I learned some things from you today, that I've been trying to learn for a while. Thank you again.

squidinkUK...Presently, I"m away. I'll check it out in a week when I get back. I think it's 150 ppi. Your photo is probably 72 ppi. You may have to use your transform tool to resize your wave distortion, then duplicate it and place one above the other to add more waves to the image.

It's a good technique. And if you craft your own line overlays instead of relying on the wave filter randomness, you can put stuff exactly how you want to follow contours. Thanks for posting this.

Great tutorial Marty, can I ask if you can do a tutorial on how you combined the template and channel together so it can be adapted for other projects. I would like to apply this effect to another $1 or $100 bill template. Clarity of the tutorial is brilliant.

2:10 there is a much faster way to fill a layer with 50% gray, just hit Sift+F5 and choose it from the list
I resized my image from 250ppi to 150ppi and the lines where still way to fine, you should really specify what size the "donor" image should be, i transformed the line layers by about 2-300% to make it look the same
Thank you very much for the psd file, font and of course the lesson, i made my father a desktop background with several more bills

My head is spinning. For the first problem, it could be that your foreground and background colors aren't black and white, respectively. The other problems could be due to multiple reasons and unfortunately, without inspecting your file, it's hard to diagnose the source of the problems. .

Hello, I've had a lot of success using your tutorial but would you by any chance know why the thickness of the wavy lines vary from picture to picture? Sometimes they are thick and at other times, they are perfect just like your example. Unfortunately, when the lines are thick, it drowns out the details of the face I am using. Advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

mine just has white lines in it no matter what I do. Ive tried about 30 variations and different color selections. Yours looks dithered and engraved, and mine literally just looks like a wavy grid of white lines. I wonder if my version of photoshop is different (CS6) Mine looks like a white fishing cast net was dropped over it. Ill keep trying
