- Photoshop CC 2017 tutorial showing how to create stunning photo mosaic portraits.
Contact Sheet II is only available in versions CS6 and later.
TIPS: 1) If the file names are included in the "Contact Sheet", remember to first uncheck "Use File Name as Caption" in the Contact Sheet II window.
2) If there's white space between your photos, make sure "Use Auto-Spacing" in NOT checked and the Vertical & Horizontal fields are "0".

i like to create photo mosaic collage and have it on dining area wall.

At the bottom of the Contact Sheet II window, make sure all the boxes under "Use File Name as Caption" are unchecked. Happy New Year 2 u 2!

Hi! why is it that i can't make it with Photoshop CS4? what version do you prefer?
Can you use the distortion feature like in the text portraits to make mosaics more realistic?
I used this method for making portrait mosaics without problems. Then I had to reload my Photoshop CS 6 and suddenly I spaces at the bottom of the rows. I have made the vertical and horizontal spacing to 0 and this doesn't help. Any suggestions please!?

helpful tip: alternate the 12 and 8 for a portrait mosaic instead of landscape

Please all the images in my folder are 1:1 ,and when i try to change the aspect to a 12 by 12 for example i can't.

Awesome, I spent hours making a mosaic image by opening an image, resizing, cropping, and adding it to my image and repeating 120 times. I wish I knew about this method last week. Thank you Marty! You rock!

Good tutorial. For a larger amount of photos, it's easier to build the columns and rows in InDesign, use place with Command + Shift to build it and use fit content to box. That way you don't have to necessarily adjust each mask individually. You can just copy paste that into PS.

This is so crazy, I took a photo, a man/ghost was in the photo, when I zoomed into the top of his head about a thousand photos of strange things like people on webcam was ingrain in his head, I had to zoom in really close and the clarity of the photos that close was just phenomenal any ideas anyone I'm scared and confused ??

Marty, as always, excellent session. Been playing with this and have figured out some issues that I was having but I can't seem to get rid of the white space between columns of photos. Am I missing a setting somewhere? Yours are nicely tucked together. Tried with and without auto spacing with no success. TIA
If my Contact Sheet instructions are followed exactly, there won't be any white spaces between columns and rows.
My teacher really loves your videos. Everyday when we get into our Photoshop lesson, she usually puts one of your videos as the lesson. Shes killing 2 stones by making you teach us and we get more in depth learning. I also really love these videos as well. As of right now I don't have Photoshop, but these videos really make me want to get it!

Question: Once I make the actual Contact sheet, I try and transform/move each layer and they don't spread out to touch one another but instead stay in this box that I believe is the background layer. Trying to know why I can move them to touch one another but instead they still stay in the same box. Thanks!
In the Contact Sheet II panel, make sure "Flatten All Layers" is unchecked.

Thank you for this video. A suggestion to all who view, when I sorted pictures out for my project, I selected the pictures in thumbnail mode so I could see how the image looked prior to importing into Photoshop.
