VIXX have tons of cool concepts, like space vampires, robots, backwards videos, traditional Korean, mannequin challenge…as well as a series connected by greek mythology. Hence the title Concept Kings! They also have really unique choreo that changes drastically with the concept and is often also very story driven. More so than most other Kpop groups especially from their gen. But back in the day, yes they had a ton of dark videos like these (which are kind of what gave them their break and allowed them to be successful and stay together) but it felt like btween every dark one was a light and fluffy or really pretty title track. Really so multitalented I cannot stop gushing!! I love October because it’s the season everyone seems to remember or discover VIXX Also like their fans are called Starlights! How much fluffier can you get ?
VIXX also has HILARIOUS costumed dance practices as well 😂😂 also not e if you watch them their dance practice room looks very tiny but it’s because they are very tall. Like their “shortest” member still is taller than a lot of male idols
VIXX's "Fantasy" is the lead track on their Hades album, which is the second part of a trilogy of albums that have storylines that are connected with a Geek mythology theme. Each MV tells the story of the Greek God that each album is named after and all the B-side songs play off that theme. The first album they released was Zelos, which featured their lead track "Dynamite." The story in the "Dynamite" MV is based on Zelos, the Greek God of jealousy and rivalry. Next, they released their album Hades with their lead track "Fantasy." This song and MV is telling the story using the metaphor of Hades, the God of the underworld. As you can see, the song is about a guy who is living in a “Fantasy” after the girl he loves left him. It talks about how he will do anything to stay inside that “Fantasy” and never be without her. The song is about how he is living in darkness now that she is gone. The pain that he is feeling right now is something that is very hard for him to bear but he is still willing to endure the pain if it means he can get her back. He has now become so entrenched in that darkness that he is asking for someone to help him find his way out. He is struggling, trapped in the depths of darkness and is unable to break free from the “Fantasy” he has created. Just like the story of Hades and his queen Persephone. Hades kidnapped Persephone, the goddess of spring, takes her to the underworld and forces her to be his wife. Therefore, in "Fantasy" they want to live in that "Fantasy" world where the guy will never be apart from the girl, but in realty he discovers it's like living like Persephone trapped in the underworld, no longer able to feel the joy of "spring'" love, etc. The final album is Kratos with their lead track "The Closer." This song and MV is based on the theme of Kratos, the Greek God who personifies strength, might, sovereign rule and authority in all its forms. The story in "The Closer" MV is actually told in reverse. And in order to see the full story you actually have to watch all three MVs in reverse release order. If you watch the three MVs together you will see that the stories are connected and it continues from one to the other. In other words, although "The Closer" came out last, it is actually the beginning of the story. Therefore, you have to watch "The Closer," then "Fantasy," then "Dynamite" to understand the story better. In the "Fantasy" MV we see the members looking lost and sad in the dark woods. You can see a girl walking deep in the woods. N, the leader of VIXX, is searching for the girl. While looking for the girl he encounters the other members, who represent the things in life that are bad influences on him. The other members, i.e. bad influences, try to lure N deeper into the woods and deeper into darkness. The girl you see in this MV is the same girl from the previous MV “Dynamite" and she is also part of the story in their next MV, "The Closer". So, if you connect the storylines and take into consideration that it's being told in reverse order, the story in "Fantasy" explains what lead up to the story in "Dynamite" and it explains why N ends up the way we see him in "Dynamite." And if you watch "The Closer" MV you will see how the story begins, which will help explain how he got to this dark place in his life, which we see in "Fantasy."
VIXX are known as the concept kings because most of their MVs and choreography tell a story. In the "Error" MV the guy is in love with the girl but she gets sick and dies. He is so heartbroken that he removes his heart with the machine and replaces it with a mechanical heart. He is now transformed into a cyborg. He misses the girl so much that he decides the only way to bring his love back is to build a robot and insert the girl's memory into the robot so it will be just like nothing has changed. They are now happy again for a brief moment until the government finds out he built her. Because she was not authorized by the government or was created illegally, etc., when they check her motherboard or memory chip it shows she is not registered. She is not allowed, so the "police" try to take her away. However, because the guy is now a cyborg, he has super human strength -- that's why he is able to break free and throw the men off the girl and the two of them are able to run away and escape. But they soon realize the only way they will be able to be together is like Romeo and Juliet -- if they "die" or, in this case, are dismantled -- so they allow the mechanical robotic arm to shut them down. In the end all that is left is the part of them that truly made them alive and was a symbol of their love -- their heart -- which I think of as being combined into one because they were in love. The "Error" is the fact that he thought he could recreate their love by building the girl and they could go on with life like nothing happened.
Yes only he didn't build her, when he first sees her (the robot) he holds his head and we see his memories he tried to repress returning. The illegal part was inserting his memories into her.
Error is my favorite Vixx song! The whole concept is so sad. If you do react to more Vixx you should watch Chained Up and just know that in the physical albums, one of the inclusions was a BDSM contract 😂😂😂
The song is called "Hyde" So in the MV the VIXX members are Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. When they are in white, they are showing you the Jekyll side of them, but when you see them in black, they are their evil alter ego Hyde. The story and song concept is based on the classic literary novel by Robert Lewis Stevenson. The story of Jekyll and Hyde is about a man with split personalities, so in the song they are comparing their love to being like Jekyll and Hyde. They want to be kind and sweet like Dr. Jekyll, but inside they can't help but act like Mr. Hyde.
VIXX were always called the Kings of Concept for a reason. They had a totally different sound during their debut (which I actually enjoy that too bc it's nostalgic), but then they started doing story-heavy MVs with really cool concepts. I HIGHLY suggest songs like "Chained Up", "Shangri-La", and "Voodoo Doll" (def a good one for Halloween but TW: gore). Their members are also really talented individually and also have subunits. Two members left the group, so now it's just four members left. Their fandom also has one of the prettiest names - Starlights. Some solo/subunit suggestions: Hyuk - Boy With A Star N - Passionate Tango I** Ken - Just For A Moment Leo - Romanticism L&R (Leo and Ravi) - Beautiful Liar L&R - Whisper **This performance is a live dance performance done with Cell Block Tango and Havana. I truly think N is one of the most beautiful dancers in kpop, but he really doesn't get mentioned much despite how talented he is. Any of his dance performances show how much control he has of his body so I wanted to showcase that. Can you tell he's my bias?
Just suggestions 😜 if you ever do want to hear more “Chained Up” classic, very hot GR8U” adorable! Backwards video “Dynamite” aka the best kpop dynamite. Retro? “Closer” amazing song! “Shangri-La” so pretty! Fan dance!
Since you have watched Fantasy you should try Dynamite and The Closer since they part of a Greek Mythology trilogy with starting with Dynamite, then Fantasy being continuation, and The Closer being the finale of the trilogy. On and On they are Vampires in the MV. Chained Up is also another fun one to watch as well as Shangri-La. My Kings of Concept.
They are the concept kings. They have such interesting concepts and their music is great. Can't wait for their comeback! 😊❤ More people need to listen to them.
I love Hyde so much. It's my favorite all time choreo as well like it beats out Last Romeo by Infinite (which I also love a TON). VIXX really wrap everything related to their comebacks into their concept from choreo, clothing, album design, etc and it really makes it so unique and worth watching all their lives stages and different songs since they are all so committed and different. I like joking that VIXX is theater kids meet kpop lmao. They are one of top 5 groups and N, my fav and the one with red hair in the Hyde mv, has some of the best stage presence in an idol ever. Like captivating through the camera kinda presence. I'm always happy when October rolls around since I always know people will end up watching some of their stuff. If you ever want to do a happy/lighter video G.R.8.U is bright and the 'Jekyll' side to the Hyde video since the main part of the video is shot in reverse showing their transformation into Hyde. So glad you guys enjoyed this!
If you read up on the Error video at first he was human but he could not cope with the pain of losing her so he decided to turn himself into a android to escape the pain but could not... that's why he has flashbacks of her.

You've seen the A.C.E. cover of On and On, but they're space vampires in that. But truly the classic Vixx track of choice is Chained Up.

Leo's 'Blossom Tears' is a good horror mv too.
Yes!,
They are known as concept kings. They are definitely one of my favorites and love their themes.
Just suggestions 😜 if you ever do want to hear more
“Chained Up” classic, very hot

Fun fact: If I remember right, there's one dance move in Fantasy that VIXX dubbed the "flesh ripping/tearing move"~~~^.^ FUN!
If you read up on the Error video at first he was human but he could not cope with the pain of losing her so he decided to turn himself into a android to escape the pain but could not... that's why he has flashbacks of her.
I think another good horror vibe one from VIXX is Voodoo Doll
Please do Scentist ❤❤
Sad thing is that 2 of the 6 members have left so it’s just not the same without all six of them
