How to make a simple wooden DIY weaving loom

    We had one when we were kids. It did have one thing yours is missing. There was a larger square bar (1 1/2 sq) with knobs turned on the ends. On one face it was cut with a saw every even string across the width of the bar. Then the square bar was turned and the second side was notched every odd strung. Each apposing face had a dado on both ends that matched up with the side bars. To use it you would start with one face up and run your shuttle through, comb it down then turn the sq bar 90° and it would lower the one string and raise the opposite string. You would run the shuttle through again. It would keep the weave from becoming tighter as you went along. It also made weaving much easier too.

      Those are called heddle bars, very simple, and easy way to create an effective shed.
