See I would love to get into this but when I was 19-21 I worked in a factory and I was a “weaver”. I had twenty to twenty five big industrial weaving machines I worked. I walked around all night long working these. Making sure none stopped and if they did I would have to find the issue (snag, broken thread) they were so big that when the machine stopped it meant some thread broke and I had to look through thousands of tiny threads to determine which one it was. I had look pieces of thread and would have to do a “weavers knot to get the thread back together that broke. If I didn’t tie it right it left a defect in the fabric. It’s nostalgic when I look back on it. There was an industrial factory, one of the first cotton mills in north west Georgia. It started producing denim in 1971 and became the “cotton mill” of the “denim mill” as people in town called it. Mount Vernon Mills (Riegel) Our small little country town and county was built around it. My whole family has worked or still works there to this day. Many older generations have retired from this location. My Grandfather worked there for almost 40 years. Today the mill produces over two million pounds of cotton and denim fabric to different locations in the United States and other countries. So while “weaving” is nostalgic. And I have done a a couple of weaving projects on much smaller scales that fit in my lap, the thought of working on these bigger weaving looms I would have to put together makes me feel like I would be “working”. Which makes me sad bc I was quite good at it and know I would be able to use the skills I acquired to crank out some good pieces. It can be quite an enjoyable and rewarding hobby. I say all of that to share some of my history and families history in this weaving industry. And to say it was quite nice seeing the little tools you were using to do this. The little hook you acquired to make it easier to pull your threads through really brings back memories 😊. It was a necessary, trusted, well used tool I kept in my apron and held in my hands those years working the weaving looms. Thank you for sharing this. It’s stirred up a lot of memories and feelings of nostalgia. Especially regarding my grandfather who was a very important part of the mill for many decades 😊
I just want to say that i'm so grateful of my youtube algorithm that somehow your videos just pop up on my screen, and after i clicked it right away, and in no time i actually addicted to your DIY videos. Sending so much love to you🎇
Дякую за цікаву розповідь. У вас такі різноманітні інтереси , це дуже цікаво, кожного разу щось новеньке. Бажаю вам успіхів у всіх ваших творчих роботах.
Lovely video! I just wanted to mention, If you're seriously interested in continuing to learn to weave, I would suggest buying a boat shuttle! They're the kind of shuttle that has A bobbin that you can switch out instead of just being a stick. The sticks are good for small projects but can get very clunky and awkward if you want to work on anything larger. Hope this helps!
I took a weaving class in college and loved it. We learned on two different looms. I can't wait to see what other patterns you come up with and what you make from them.🙂
Thank you so much for watching and for your support!❤️ I'm really sorry, I got a little too busy last week and couldn't upload a new video.😔 but I'll continue to try my best to upload one every week! 😊
Yayyyyyy! Your videos are so inspiring. But please, feel free to take your time. No rush, no pushing...as the videos bring peace, may your life be at peace also. Thank you ❤
This has been on my long list of things to learn, now may just be the perfect time to do just that. Thank you. The quality of this loom looks really good.
Thank you for watching! 😊 It's been on my list for a while too! and I'm glad I gave it a try! It's really fun and relaxing once I got a hang of it! I'm really happy with the quality of this loom too! Nice pieces of wood, smooth edges!

Hi well done you, for your first project I think you did a great job 👏, I have the same loom and love it, so much fun making items on it, I think it’s a great loom, looking forward to seeing what else you make on it, 😊 sending blessings from Scotland 🏴
Good morning Kiko, how lovely to spend some time weaving with you today. Your loom looks to be a lovely quality. Like you I prefer quality products. They really do make assembling and using so much more a lovely experience. I am always happy to wait and save for such an item. I must say your first weave was amazing. The pattern so very pretty especially once looked at close up. You have inspired me to get my little hand loom out and make a piece to go on a card for a friend. (My loom is small about 6 x 10 inches or so). However, it slots into a little box with various yarn and handy to get when the mood takes me. Your garden looks lovely. My husband commented last week as to how early the flowers have bloomed this year in our garden. About a month in advance. Maybe due to the warmer winters we are currently experiencing in my part of the UK. Not warm, but not as severe as they used to be with very heavy frosts and snow. Thank you for taking the time to do this video Kiko. I also enjoyed seeing your yarn. Take care until your next video. With thanks as always :)
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a comment as always! I've seen some mini looms that are like palm size. It's really cute! but I'm not sure what I can make from it though.😅 Have a wonderful day! 🌷
Awesome. Once you were calm after working on it for a bit. I bet you were excited to learn something new. Keep learning new patterns. It's always thrilling to learn something new. I'm happy for you. 😁🤩
You're right! Once I had everything set up and after weaving a few rows, I had a lot of fun! I'm looking forward to learning new patterns and weaving more projects in the future! 😊 Thank you for watching! ❤️
Ashford products are excellent. I have an antique spinning wheel and I'd love one of their antique looms also. Your piece turned out beautifully. How proud you must be considering it's your first piece. I have pet sheep and I'm going to use their wool, instead of purchasing prepared roving. Thankyou for sharing your journey 🤗
omg...you have a pet sheep?!! Sheeps are so cute!! 😍 I love that you're able to use the wool and spin them into yarn! I would love to watch the whole process!! ❤️ Thank you for watching!
Thank you very much! I was very intimidated by it 😅 that's why it took me a few months to get a loom! I've seen some really big complicated looking looms...I think I might stay away from those...lol
I’ve Enjoyed your channel it’s nice to know someone who uses their free time for their crafts, and have as many or more than I do. I was wondering, how long did it take you to do the weaving project for the houndstooth pattern. I t was beautiful.
Очень красивый ткацкий станок! Я когда то давно плела на большом ткацком станке. И там заправляла нитки из хлопка. Это длилось так долго... У тебя ткань получилась очень хорошей❤
Kiko... I'm not sure how I missed this, but it turned out just beautiful. Do you have plans to make more loom items in 2025. I do not have a loom but am very interested. Following from Nebraska USA
WOW and OMG. I dont think I have so much patience as you do have and after watching your video I need a weaving machine for myself now. And I was just wondering if can we make such more pieces maybe two or three and sew them together to make a floormat. I am not sure how will it turn out, maybe not good! But there has to be a way where we want to make something with longer width.
Thank you very much for watching! I've seen someone cutting up sections of a long weaved fabric and sewed up the edges to use as dish towels so I feel like sewing pieces together to make a floormat shouldn't be a problem. There are bigger looms for wider projects too! 😊
Waow quel beau travail !! Bravo !
