I love it that you keep it real Tony! We have all been there right, stuff is not playing ball and you are running out of time. Some UA-camrs make it look like working on your car is a walk in the park, this is not the case
To anyone who plans on doing this. Loosen the arb bolts a few turns, then get a sharp chisel and split the metal brackets, a few hits with a hammer will do. Put everything back together like you would usually do. Did this on my 147 and G.
Hi Andrew. Thanks. Really appreciate it. I was determined to make it happen, but didn’t have the time or patience to drop the subframe on the day. I will change them soon. Thanks for watching. All the best 👍
Don't worry, next time you will tackle it :) Thanks for showing this, I'm planning to do the the front suspenssion (shocks + shock upper mounts + springs + control arms + connection rods) and I was wondering if I should incluse these as well... But since I am not willing to drop the subframe I guess I will have to leave them :)
You can get anti roll bar out by loosing up front subframe bolts and fully taking out old ones, long enough lever to get it bit further away from body and after moving it around you can actually take it out. On RHD cars its easier to take it out from rights to left. Only issue are actual bushings which come in one piece and i had to make cut on them as it were on genuine ones to slide them on.
Thank you for the video. Have you changed bushes already? Are nuts of the Brackets under the subframe movable or unmovable like are welded to subframe?
Hi they are the same as the rear ones so else’s to the bracket, but not the subframe. I think there’s a link to that video in the comments just below. Hope that helps. All the best 👍
Hi Valter. Sorry for taking so long to get back to you. Not sure on this one at the moment unfortunately. Not something I have had to tackle. All the best 👍
Unfortunately not as you have to drill the brackets off. Not sure if you’ve seen the rear anti rollbar video, but they’re the same deal. Thanks for watching. All the best 👍
I contacted Alfa for some new bushes and they wanted £400 + vat for 2 bushes 😮 but they said I’d get a free anti roll bar with that lol they said it’s a sub frame drop and the bushes are stuck to the bar 🙄
If they're anything like the 147, that subframe has to come out. The clamps on the bushes need a serious whack to separate them. It's not a nice job (147 had clutch, gearbox without knackered synchro and then arb bushes) so I got the hang of it. Someone needs to invent a subframe clamp that goes on your trolley jack cos they're a bitch to lift back up...
Yeah not pleasant. They’re like the rears unfortunately and need to be drilled out. Something I can look forward to!!! Thanks for watching. All the best 👍

A solid attempt. Really appreciate you making these videos to show to show what can eb done at home. I'm sure you'll sort it next time.

Please tell me just where they are, thanks! :-)
Could you install the Tedgum bushes in the meantime?
Unfortunately not as you have to drill the brackets off. Not sure if you’ve seen the rear anti rollbar video, but they’re the same deal. Thanks for watching. All the best 👍

Found a solution?
Not yet unfortuntely. had to deprioritise this at the moment. all the best 👍
You shouldn’t pull the bracket out towards to the wheel by slide on the bar. Try next time.
Spray some wd40 on the bar.
@@novakybalazs7737 haha. I put so much of that on it while I was trying. Nothing was going anywhere. Thanks for watching. All the best 👍
