if you're in a budget home studio and need talk back regularly, HIGHLY recommend an SSL interface. SSL12 has built-in talk back mic w/ an engage button. Then fully route-able in the SSL360 software before the DAW, super useful.

I appreciate it. I always admire videos that go the extra mile with the video shooting quality.

Hi Andrew! Love your channel! I was wondering if you could maybe make a video about headphone monitoring for like a live tracking setup? Like how you would break down individual instruments for let's say per player and them having control for the levels of each instrument/track?

I second this. A video explaining a few common ways of setting up headphone mixes for each player would be clutch. I get using a headphone amp with multiple outs _but;_ How does each player get their own mix? How do these bigger studios set it up and make it work where each player gets their own 12, 16+ channel mixer to more fully control their headphone mix? Explaining things like this with different examples, use cases, set ups would be awesome.

Also, I get using the AUX's on your main console (what you'd normally use for your monitor mixes in a live situation) but what if you need _more_ than 4, 6 or 8 headphone mixes or don't want/can't for some reason use your main console's AUX's and again, how can we make a situation that work where the _player_ can control their individual mix instead of the engineer at the console?

Great video man, I definitely know it can get awkward when we’re all playing a game of telephone in the studio 😂

You have a good style of presentation. Some audio interfaces have a built in talkback system. For example, the SSL12 has a built in talk back system and even includes a built in talkback microphone. I also use an Audient 4816SE console and two SSL Big Sixes - both of which have talkback systems with dedicated talkback mic XLR inputs.

Hey Andrew! I've checked the link for the gear you use but I don't see what overhead lights you're using. Can you tell me what they are? Thank you 🙏

Please can you describe the signal flow from your interface to the behringer p16’s? Does there need to be another midas/behringer product between your interface and the P16’s?

Question; since you are in multiple rooms environment, how do musicians communicate with each other between takes? Another question; What if a musician takes of his headphone or earplugs?

I'd like to mention MOTU interfaces. Some of them (such as my 828es) has a dedicated talkback mic buit into them. That way you don't need to sacrifice a valuble mic input. just for the talkback.

Andrew, what brand are those lamps you have over the desk? Could not find in your equipment list.
