Sprouting Seed for Finches

Method I use when sprouting seed for finches. Sprouted seed is a great alternative (or accompaniment) to green seed heads, particularly during breeding. VirkonS is used during the sprouting process to prevent fungus, bacteria and other baddies.

I tried sprouting millet seed once. I didn't soak them first and they grew just fine. Does the soaking simply encourage the seeds to germinate faster?

hey, I have a female parrotlet and she won't eat anything but seed. So I'm going to start doing this but she is only hand tame enough to stand on my finger. she wont play with toys either. I got her at 8 months but before that she was kept in a tiny cage and never held. How can I get her to come out of her shell? I can tell she wants to but she is to nervous.

allan parrott Virkon S. It should be available worldwide. F10sc is a similar product. Both are routinely used as Veterinary disinfectants.

I am not trying to be snarky...could you tell me what a fly box is? I tried to google it....it showed me fly's for fishing..ha! I am assuming its to attract fly's to keep them from the animals. Thank you in advance! 🌷

The flies are for the larvae to feed as well, thats why he has a fly box.
