Hi, I have this Studio classic 20 and it deserves a better fx loop. I prefer to use the 20w mode with a power attenuator rather than the 5w mode. It's an amp that's quite faithful to the 2203, so it's a success and it's made in England. The low sensitivity channel is really good and can be close to certain "plexi" type sounds. I mainly use the high sensitivity input boosted with a Keeley SD1 five star germanium and it's the door open to heavy metal from the 80's. Nothing revolutionary with this amp but it's what 90% of guitarists like with the added bonus of the small size, the light weight and the better usable power even if it's already quite strong for use at home. I was lucky enough to find the new sc20c combo on the internet at a price of €700 (a store in the Netherlands) and back home in France it was €1000! The 10" speaker is well suited and delivers sufficient bass.
@@killnoni5032 This fx loop drops the level and creates hiss and noises, apparently this is more or less normal on a jcm800 and its circuit design but I don't believe it because there are fx loop kits which are better. ..fortunately the fx loop can be disconnected with the rear switch. I am comfortable with only 1 delay and 1 reverb boss in this fx loop the noise I got used to it and the reduction in volume does not degrade the original sound but this amp deserves a better fx loop that's for sure . I noticed that with my P&P22 power attenuator (handmade in France) the noise is a little less present at low volume. I had a lot of Marshalls (2x jcm900/1x SLX/1xJVM/3x JCM2000/1xVintage modern/1xJCM800 split channel...) and all of them had a better fx loop than this Studio Classic 20, it's really the only weak point because this amp sounds great.
Elmo, I love your videos and this is another great one! I would love to see you review/demo the Orange Super Crush 100 watt head. That would be awesome!!
Great video. It definitely has one of those classic Marshall sounds. I like all the classic amps but my favorite is the JTM. Your iced up face pic. When I lived in a more northern part of Canada I looked like that waiting for bus to go to high school. Still in Canada but more southern, still gets cold but not like the north. Cheers, would like to see comparison video!
Yes Elmo you definately have the witches brew and a broomstick going on here. Def some awesome technique. The guitar teacher settings are amazing.♥️🕊️❤️
I live just about 90 minutes drive North of Sydney, Australia, so we don't get the weather that you're dealing with at that time on that day. I'm glad for the climate we have here, really glad when I see icicles hanging from your beard lol. You poor bugger though your summers are nice, are they not? Your playing was as good as per usual despite the cold, Elmo. Good on you, m8.
I watch all your reviews, even when it's something I know I can't afford. 1, I love how you do your thing. 2, when you review things I Can afford, I then know the difference, I have a point of reference... From Your reviews, I purchased a Jet JS-400, and a Boss Katana-Mini, because of my Budget constraints, and the Style I love and want to play. And, I'm Not disappointed, the limitations and the Pluses are exactly as you described. I couldn't find a Roland Mini-Cube that was less than Double the price of the Katana I got, seems you've influenced the market...😉 I then purchased an 'Artist Guitars' EB2 electric guitar. They are an Australian company. It costed A$160 (US$105). Now, the single pot, humbucker were cheap. They sounded OK out of the box, for the money quite good, but Cheap. But, I had a Humbucker and a 500k pot ready to go. I swapped the humbucker, pot, put a graphite nut, roller tree and locking nuts, and swapped out the bridge. I LOVE this guitar, LOVE it. The fit and finish, the Neck, the Neck, Perfect out of the box. Now with the simple Mod's, it's a Hard Core 70's, 80's Rocker... Now I'm a EVH Nut, unashamed, so I wanted to build an early (70's) VH guitar, and I did with this. Please, Look at "Artist Australia" guitar company, they have some Great guitars, including Budget guitars. You are known World Wide now, so people in My area who watch you would Love to see you review Local companies, if that's something you could do...maybe not, but if you could, that would be Amazing...
Very good video Elmo. As always, direct and sincere opinion. I admire your videos because you say what you like, which is important, if the person listening identifies with your sound, they value your opinion a lot, as is my case. For example, I bought the Strymon Riverside, because of you, and I love that pedal. What I don't like about other UA-camrs is that they don't give their opinion so as not to hurt people, or brands. The ones who don't give an opinion do it that way because they're demoing the gear... not reviewing it. Some companies pay for a demo of its features, without an opinion.

I have one and I love the tone . The only thing that bothers me is the loop. I don't know if it's a problem with my unit, but it's a bit noisy. I also noticed that if the master is not very open, the loop signal level is low and the harmonizer pedal gets a little lost trying to identify the correct note. This does not happen on the Carvin v2m or mini rectfier. Furthermore, it has the ideal size and power for playing at home and in clubs. Congrants for you job and thank you for share!!!!!!!

that, an NS-1X, a clean boost, a 1X10" for practice, and a 2X12 for loud ... that would be a lot of money in the end; but it would be a very decent all around rig for the money.
